Behind the Banner: Thetford

The Faction Warfare edition of Behind the Banner has taken us from the frozen peaks of Fort Sterling to the wild forests of Lymhurst and the burning sands of Bridgewatch. Now, we descend into Albion’s dank swamps. Beneath twisted trees and thick vapors, Thetford’s Discord communities have carved out their place, organizing, fighting, and thriving in its oppressive atmosphere. If you’re ready to stand your ground in the swamp, read on and see who thrives where others sink.

Discord: discord.gg/bbMSDCTde8

How long has your Discord been active?

Since October 2024.

What does your community have to offer?

We are not the official Thetford faction Discord. We are simply a community that chose Thetford as our home. Casual players pioneered it, but we sustained the community long enough for it to thrive and reach the same level as official Faction Discords. We offer a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining high standards.

Why did you choose Thetford?

Long story short: we played for Martlock as a small group, got into drama with the Martlock Discord mods, and challenged ourselves to build a better community. As it turns out, we could. And we're still standing strong. We started from DRAMA. We strive for DRAMA. We want DRAMA!

Do you offer yellow or red zone Faction Warfare content?

We predominantly focus on red zone content, with occasional yellow zone content.

Do you have a message for the other Factions out there?

To all other Factions: Step up! We’ll be waiting. Anywhere, anytime. Win or lose, we play.

Side note: You’re not safe!
  • Fort Sterling: Stop dodging content. You have the manpower, you’re just lazy at training them.
  • Lymhurst: If you ever come back from underground, we’ll be waiting.
  • Bridgewatch: Stop hiding behind your Fortress.
  • Martlock: Stop being rats. Randoms aren’t a challenge.
Bring all the rainbow colors into one zone. We’ll be waiting in Malag!

Discord: discord.gg/kvrZQpQzMg

How long has your Discord been active?

We started as cappers in Albion Americas and slowly reunited players who never left Thetford, even when it was small and leaderless. Over time, we carried on the torch of legends such as Hissaka, ItsMeZaeem, Benmage, Katsumoto83, and LWRegulus, who built this city before us.

When many of us moved from Albion Americas to Europe, we continued building and strengthening the community here. Warm greetings to everyone in Thetford we had to leave behind in Albion Americas. Un saludo cálido.

What does your community have to offer?

We offer healer regears, giveaways, small-, medium-, and large-scale ZvZ, loot, VoD reviews, red zone roaming and Sieges, Bandits, capping, Camps, yellow zone content, custom Arena practice, and occasional World Bosses and Fame farming.

But our main focus is PvP. We mostly play clap kite, sometimes melee clap, and occasionally full brawl. Our most active timers are 13 to 01 UTC, and we aim to provide a mature, helpful environment where we teach newcomers and new callers both yellow and red zone mechanics.

Why did you choose Thetford?

It’s a place where we can keep things friendly and non-toxic in a full-loot PvP game, while still being combative in the harsh red zones. We go to battles and on adventures together, have fun, and communicate openly with anyone and everyone. Open minds. Good vibes. SWAMP.

Do you offer yellow or red zone Faction Warfare content?

Yes.

Do you have a message for the other Factions out there?

Yes.

Stay tuned for more in this series, as we meet the other Faction communities on each server!

Feature Focus: Faction Battle Standards

With Realm Divided Part II launching on February 23, Faction Warfare gains a new kind of objective, one rooted as much in legend as in conflict: Faction Battle Standards. These banners introduce capture-the-flag-style gameplay to the Royal Continent, creating moving points of tension that pull players into fights wherever they go.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Battle Standards represent living records of battle, gathering tales of victory, struggle, and bloodshed as they are carried across the open world. Every Battle Standard begins as little more than a symbol. What it becomes depends entirely on what happens around it.
Stories Forged in Bloodshed
Faction Battle Standards appear in Provinces currently in active conflict. Once unlocked, any Faction-flagged player can pick it up and begin its journey. As the carrier fights Faction enemies, clashes with rival players, and helps capture Outposts, the banner absorbs those moments, gaining Prestige as its story unfolds.

At lower tiers, Prestige comes from all of these activities, imbuing the Battle Standard with the early skirmishes that define a rising conflict. But once it reaches Epic tier, only one thing can push it further to Legendary status: defeating other players. At that point, only PvP combat against rival Factions is worthy of adding to its tale.

But a Battle Standard’s fate is never guaranteed:
  • If the carrier falls, it can be seized or stolen by another player of any Faction
  • Its Prestige remain intact, even if it changes hands

Every fight around a Battle Standard leaves its mark, no matter who ends up carrying it next.
Tales Are Meant to Be Told
War stories are not forged by lonely heroes. Anyone who fights alongside the carrier and helps shape the Battle Standard’s story shares in its rewards. These symbols thrive on tales of camaraderie, sacrifice, and hard-fought victories.

To conclude its journey and claim its rewards, a Battle Standard must be brought to a friendly Outpost, where Fiona Fableheart awaits. A bard by trade and a collector of legends by nature, Fiona is drawn to items heavy with stories.

When she claims one, the tale is complete:
  • Faction Points are awarded to the carrier and fellow Faction members who contributed along the way
  • The higher rarity a Battle Standard has achieved, the more Faction Points Fiona rewards in return
Faction Battle Standards create roaming flashpoints across the Royal Continent. Each one is a story in motion. Whether it ends as a footnote or a legend depends entirely on who dares to carry it.

Realm Divided Part II goes live on February 23, ready for players to write the next chapter of their story!

Ambassador Spotlight: KuruoGG

AlbionTV continues its interview series introducing the Realm Divided AOCP Ambassadors, and this time we’re meeting a creator who takes Albion’s sandbox idea very seriously. KuruoGG is known for carving out his own way of playing, setting personal goals, and turning content into stories he builds at his own pace. Join us on twitch.tv/albiononline on Friday, February 13 at 20 UTC for a live interview and a closer look at one of the most creative voices in the Spanish-speaking community.
KuruoGG
For KuruoGG, Albion has always been about choice. He doesn’t log in with a fixed checklist or a single idea of what “progress” should look like. Instead, he uses Albion’s open systems to set his own goals, explore what interests him, and move at his own rhythm. That freedom to shape his own story is what keeps the game exciting for him, and it’s the mindset that defines everything he creates.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
That attitude shines most clearly in his approach to Albion’s economy. Kuruo enjoys taking his time and understanding how systems really work. When patches shake things up, he doesn’t rush to copy a solution. He slows down, studies the changes, and builds his own answers. When Transport Oxen were rebalanced, he dove into spreadsheets, tested scenarios, and mapped out profitability so he could quickly update the community with his signature news-style videos.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
What really defines his content, though, is that he follows the fun where it’s at and doesn’t shy away from creating his own. With the launch of Realm Divided, he jumped straight into Faction Warfare with his community, trading spreadsheets for shotcalling and chaotic battles… and it turns out he’s very good at it. On his streams, chat can also trigger custom cards that add new rules on the fly. One moment everything is carefully planned, the next moment mounts are suddenly banned and he’s painfully walking across half a region, improvising as he goes.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
As an Ambassador, Kuruo wants to take that sandbox mindset beyond his own gameplay. He’s already been creating events and shared experiences where his community actively takes part. Now, he plans to expand that approach and open it up to a wider audience. In 2026, his goal is to organize larger community events for the Spanish-speaking community, including tournaments and initiatives like the Albion Awards, designed to celebrate and spotlight the creators shaping Albion’s scene.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
If you’re looking for a creator who treats Albion as a playground where every type of content is an opportunity to experiment and have fun, follow KuruoGG and see where his next idea leads. Tune in to his live interview on AlbionTV on Friday, February 13 for a chance to win the Master of Fists vanity bundle and get to know one of the creators shaping his own story.

Feature Focus: Bandit Assault

With Realm Divided Part II launching on February 23, the Bandit Assault is being reworked to align with the broader Faction Warfare revamp introduced in Realm Divided. Rather than standing apart as a separate activity, Bandit Assaults now use the same Province and Supply systems that shape Faction conflict across the Royal Continent.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
This major overhaul opens the event up to every type of participation, from small skirmishes to large, coordinated battles. As the fighting escalates, individual actions snowball into Faction-wide conflict, building toward explosive Fortress finales in the red zones.
Phase One: The Red Zones Ignite
When a Bandit Assault begins, Caerleon takes control of the Outposts in all five lethal Provinces. While Fortress and Province ownership remain unchanged, Caerleon now fully joins the fight, competing alongside the Royal Factions for placement and rewards. From that moment on, every Faction races to generate Bandit Assault Supplies through Faction Warfare activities across the red zones.

During this phase:
  • Faction Camps and Faction Chests appear across all red-zone Provinces
  • Bandit Assault Supplies are earned through familiar Faction Warfare activities, including:
    • Capturing Outposts
    • Clearing Faction Camps
    • Opening Faction Chests
  • All Faction-flagged players in lethal Provinces receive a buff to Faction Point generation and chest rewards for the duration of the Bandit Assault

This opening phase is designed as a multi-Province scramble, where activity across all red-zone Provinces matters and every contribution helps shape the final outcome.
Phase Two: The Final Stand
As the event progresses, the conflict intensifies. In the second phase, the Bandit Assault narrows its focus to just two red-zone Provinces, drawing all Factions into a decisive confrontation that will determine the final rankings.

During this phase:
  • Two non-adjacent Provinces are selected at random
  • Bandit Assault Supply generation in these Provinces is significantly increased
  • Other red-zone Provinces no longer contribute to the Bandit Assault score or grant the buff
The Fortress at the heart of each selected Province contains a highly valuable chest with a lock timer. Fortresses can’t be captured during a Bandit Assault, so the primary objective in the final phase is to be the one Faction to claim the valuable loot and large amount of Bandit Assault Supplies inside the chest. For the owning Faction, the goal is to defend the Fortress until the chest unlocks. For attackers, it means tearing down the walls and pushing inside to contest it.

Multiple Factions can assault the same Fortress at once, leading to chaotic, multi-sided battles as attackers race to break through the defenses before the chests unlock. Defenders benefit from the Fortress layout and fortifications, but no Faction is guaranteed safety!
Rankings and Rewards
When the Bandit Assault concludes, all Factions are ranked based on the total Bandit Assault Supplies earned across both phases. Faction Points are awarded accordingly, with higher placements granting greater rewards. Once the Bandits withdraw, the red zones return to the usual frontline system until Caerleon reorganizes and strikes again.

With these changes, Bandit Assaults become an integral and defining moment in the ongoing struggle for control of the Royal Continent. We’re excited to see how this plays out with the release of Realm Divided Part II on February 23. Stay tuned for the next Feature Focus, where we’ll take a closer look at Faction Battle Standards!
