Albion’s Horizons are Expanding!

On October 28, the Horizons update brings new depth and excitement to Albion's open world. Dynamic Encampments introduce a shifting landscape, along with Dynamic Resource Hotspots, new Coffers, and lair maps. Risk and reward scales by region quality in the Outlands, and new S.A.F.E. Portals take solo players deeper within. Groups can enjoy revamped Randomized Dungeons and some frightening new Crystal Creatures to take down. And long-awaited quality-of-life enhancements such as the HUD Editor and Quick Settings Presets make your game experience smoother than ever. With two new Albion Journal categories, Albion’s Horizons are expanding in many ways.
A Dynamic World
Dynamic Encampments are new mob camps which spawn in unpredictable locations in the open world for a limited time, offering personal rewards for those who complete them. At the same time, Dynamic Resource Hotspots are springing up with abundant gathering possibilities. Coffers in the open world offer rewards to those who uncover them, and new maps can sometimes be found within mob camps, which open up a special dungeon to those who are able to grab them.
Beyond the Horizon
In the Outlands, difficulty and rewards now scale by region quality, offering more challenging but more lucrative options as you get closer to the center. For solo players, S.A.F.E. Portals provide instant travel from Portal Towns deeper into the Outlands – transporting players unpredictably into these less-trodden areas. And the Crystal Beetle and Crystal Cobra provide new, fearsome targets for groups. At the same time, Group Randomized Dungeons have been revamped, offering greater rewards for larger teams, and on the Royal Continent Tier 5 Blue Zones and Tier 6 Yellow Zones offer more advanced content early in the game.
Customize Your Experience
The HUD Editor gives you unprecedented control over your interface, allowing you to customize, save, and share layouts. Pair it with Quick Settings Presets to shift between graphics, audio, controls, and gameplay settings at the touch of a button. Managing your inventory is easier than ever with collapsible sections, customizable item slots, and advanced sorting options. Banks also get a boost with Move All, Repair All, and more intuitive sorting features. And the Albion Journal has two new categories – Social & Guild and Island – with brand-new, themed rewards.

With all this and more, Horizons opens up new opportunities in Albion’s ever-evolving world, expanding the possibilities of your experience further than ever. For more information, see this Dev Talk on the open-world changes, and check out the official update page here.
Outlands Changes
Horizons makes the Outlands more accessible and rewarding for solo and small group players, while keeping them worthy of guild conquest.

S.A.F.E. Portal:
  • New solo teleport system located in Portal Towns, offering instant access to random Outlands regions within a certain range
  • The portal charges a Silver fee based on weight
  • The player can return through the portal for a limited time
    • Certain actions, like collecting items from containers or performing trades, will cause the return portal to close
  • With their introduction, the inner-Outlands will become more active and accessible

Crystal Creatures:
  • New creatures: Crystal Beetle and Crystal Cobra
  • Higher spawn rates for all Crystal Creatures
  • Now marked only in proximity to players
  • Their rewards have been adjusted, but increased availability makes them a reliable income option for groups

Other Outlands Changes:
  • Region Quality Scaling will increase the rewards and difficulty of Outlands regions as you get closer to the center
  • A new Player Count Indicator shows a range of active players in a particular region to help players assess PvP risk and find fights of their desired scale
PvE Changes and New Challenges
Dynamic Solo & Veteran Mob Camps:
  • Camps shift location periodically and are only available for a limited time
  • Players must earn Fame by killing mobs protecting the camp to unlock a personal chest
  • They can only be cleared once, encouraging open world exploration

Mob Power Rebalancing:
  • Mob power has been adjusted, with damage and health increases from T5 (+9%) to T8 (+42%)
    • These adjustments don’t apply to:
      • Elite enemies
      • Avalonians
      • Corrupted Dungeons
      • Hellgates
  •  Rewards have also been increased proportionally for these mobs and chests
Veteran Dungeon Rework:
  • Veteran Dungeons rewards have been rebalanced to suit their intended group size
  • Completing these dungeons in a group grants bonus rewards
  • Dungeon entrances will close shortly after entry, allowing players to focus on PvE
Other Changes
Royal Continent Changes:
  • Some T5 Yellow Zones have been upgraded to T6, and some T4 Blue Zones to T5
  • T5 and T6 resource output from these regions will remain negligible in comparison to more dangerous zones
  • This expands the content available in safe zones, without diminishing the appeal of full-loot PvP zones
Resource Hotspots:
  • Resource Hotspots offer large amounts of resources for a limited time in random locations
