Support the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund

The COVID-19 pandemic has already touched millions of people worldwide, with countless more expected to be affected in the coming months. To assist in the fight against this crisis, we've created a new, limited-time Charity Pack with all proceeds going to the World Health Organization.

This pack is available via the ingame store, and includes:
 • The Staff of Hermes, a vanity offhand skin
 • A matching Staff of Hermes Avatar Ring

The Staff of Hermes is an ancient symbol of medicine and healing, and was chosen in honor of those on the frontlines of the current pandemic. 100% of the money raised from sales of this pack will go to the WHO COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. This fund directs donations to ensuring patient care, buying and shipping essential supplies, accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments, and much more.

To read more about this fund and the specific ways it's helping those affected by the current pandemic, and to learn about other ways you can help, click here.

This fundraiser will run until April 30, so pick one up and support a great cause!

Note: Purchasing this pack once will unlock the Staff of Hermes forever for all characters on your account, and provide a free unlock option for the avatar ring for each character. Vanity offhand skins can be displayed in city, island, and Hideout zones.

Patch 9 Brings Fishing Improvements

Anglers rejoice! Today's patch is dedicated to the topic of fishing. In addition to resolving several issues that hindered the higher-tier fishing experience, we've also taken this opportunity to review rewards and bonuses for all tiers. With today's changes, fishing will be more rewarding at all levels, but rewards will now increase even more at higher-tier zones, especially for players who prepare with special gear and foods.

Here's a partial list of what's new:
 • Chance for bonus seaweed that increases with the tier of the fishing spot
 • Gathering bonuses from food now also apply to fishing yield
 • Fishing gear now applies bonuses to T1 fish and seaweed
 • Destiny Board fishing bonuses now apply to all tiers

With the Mists of Albion buff running until April 7, it's the perfect time to grab a fishing pole and head for the waters of Albion!

As always, you can read the complete list of changes in the official patchnotes.
Meet the Eggsecutioner
With Easter just around the corner, today's patch introduces a new wardrobe skin: The Eggsecutioner. This elaborately built, Heretic-themed contraption uses arcane poultry magic to fire three different types of eggs, which hatch into rabbits, frogs, and marmots when fired.

Note: during the upcoming Easter Event (April 8-22), this item will also be purchasable via Surprise Egg tokens that will be obtainable throughout the world.

As with all vanity skins, once acquired it is unlocked for all characters on an account, and can be displayed in city, island, and Hideout zones via the ingame settings.

The Hunter Challenge Returns

Let the hunt begin! For all of April, take the Hunter Challenge: earn points for open-world activities, unlock chests to get valuable loot, and claim your very own Black Panther mount.
Hunt Down Fantastic Items
BLACK PANTHER: This month's Challenge sees the return of the mighty Black Panther, a sleek feline mount with a fearsome appearance. It boasts a powerful speed boost spell that can propel its rider across large distances – helping both hunters and hunted alike.

AVATAR RING: Reach your goals to unlock the Hunter Challenge avatar ring to give your favorite avatar a hunting-themed border. This non-tradable item permanently unlocks this avatar border for one character, or can be traded for one Adventurer's Token at the Vanity Merchant.

SEASONAL SPECIALS: All month, reach weekly goals to unlock Hunter Challenge chests. In addition to valuable rewards like Adventurer's Tomes, Silver bags, and rare resources, this month's chests contain various hunting-themed statues and furniture items.

As always, you can earn Challenge Points by gathering, fishing, farming, and killing monsters. Points count simultaneously toward a daily bonus, a weekly unlockable chest, and the monthly mount. So log in, head out into the open world, gather points, and claim your rewards!

Refer One Friend and Claim an Alpaca Mount Skin

Starting April 1, for just one referral, you can get your very own mount skin! The Alpaca skin turns your Stag base mount into a charming, loyal companion - and once you've unlocked it, it can be used by all characters on your account forever.

On top of that, as with the last season you can earn huge amounts of Fame for your third and fifth referrals: three referrals scores you a T7 Pile of Tomes, worth a whopping 100,000 Fame, and five referrals gets you a T8 Pile of Tomes, granting a colossal 200,000 Fame. And as always, your first-ever referral grants an additional T8 Pile of Tomes along with the Alpaca mount skin.

The current referral season lasts until maintenance on June 1, so you've got until then to refer your friends and claim your rewards.
How to Earn Seasonal Referral Rewards
• Send your referral link, which you can find here, to a friend. (You must be logged into your account on the website to view this page.)
 • Your friend registers an account and starts playing Albion Online (preferably along with you!).
 • The first time your friend purchases at least 30 days of Premium, they will trigger a reward for you.
 • On top of that, for your very first referral ever, you'll receive a T8 Recruiter's Pile of Tomes, worth a whopping 200,000 Fame.

Albion Online Theme Song Cover by Günther Wach

We are pleased to announce that a very special guest has delivered an innovative experimental cover of the Albion Online theme song. The composer is none other than Günther Wach, the up-and-coming artiste in Berlin’s avant-garde music scene!

Before we present the cover to you, we managed to personally get in touch with Herr Wach himself to ask a couple of questions about his work (not an easy feat – he’s quite a busy man!).

What made you choose to do a cover of the Albion Online Theme song?

Albion Online has always meant a lot to me - from the full-loot system where I’ve spent many sleepless nights over losing my Command Mammoth to getting ganked in a deeply unfair 20v1 fight. It really teaches you the power of resilience, numbers and fighting for what you believe in.

The world is unfair, get used to it.

Actually, Albion Online is really like a metaphor for me. A small indie game overcoming all odds to succeed in a niche market… and I, who was once a lowly, unknown misfit, but now THE rising star of Berlin.

I resonate with it so much.

Interesting. And what’s the inspiration for your work?

Simple. Three things:
 • Oat milk
 • Daily yoga and meditation
 • A constant state of existential crisis
Anything else you’d like to mention about the game?

I would love to do a musical K-Pop Dev Talk with Robin Henkys. I think it would be a T8.3 Masterpiece!

Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for…

Happy April Fool’s, everyone!
