The Crucible: Week Two Update

The Crucible is now halfway through, and a fierce battle is unfolding at the top of the leaderboard. Zizaran has narrowly overtaken Zerator after a week of relentless grinding, with both creators trading blows as their guilds fight to stay ahead. Diables & ZWIERZAAK’s team has surged into third, while former frontrunner Quin69 now sits in sixth. Metashi is holding on in the top 10, with Knekro just outside it. But determined challengers like REVENANT, Nozadah, ZeusGhostz, CAHOS_GAMING, and NorgannonHH, are making sure every spot is hard-won.

The first half of the contest has made one thing clear: these first-time Albion players are diving headfirst into every corner of the game. From leading warbands in the Outlands to grinding the Depths for hours on end, they’re making the most of every opportunity to climb the ranks.

And don’t forget: this weekend is your last chance to guarantee the exclusive Brown Alpaca mount skin! Until Sunday, July 20 at 09:30 UTC, simply gift 2 subs on Twitch to any Crucible participant, AOCP Creator, or AlbionTV to claim this fluffy companion instantly. Just look for the Alpaca icon on top of the chat during their Albion livestreams to know you’re in the right place!

The Crucible runs until August 2. Keep an eye on the leaderboard and your favorite creators’ streams as the contest barrels toward an epic finish.

Ambassador Spotlight: Sankt

This Friday, we continue the AlbionTV interview series on twitch.tv/albiononline to introduce the AOCP Ambassadors who joined us following the Abyssal Depths update. Get to know the radio host and daily companion to the Portuguese-speaking community, Sankt, on July 18 at 20:00 UTC!

[h3]Sankt[/h3]Long before he was streaming Albion to thousands of fans, Sankt was training at some of Brazil’s biggest media outlets. A journalist and former TV coordinator for the Brazilian Football Confederation, he’s brought all that professional polish into the world of Albion Online, creating one of the game’s most distinctive streams in the process.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Rádio Sankt, his weekday broadcast starting at 10 UTC, blends gameplay action with musical intervals, political analysis, opinion, news, and community debates. It feels less like a gaming stream and more like a radio program where the morning news is the state of the Outlands, and the soundtrack is a chill tune to keep the groove alive between questionable gameplay choices. Sankt pours his heart into his work, and it truly shines through in the incredible detail he brings to every single thing he does.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Now based in Lisbon, Sankt leads VELIKA on Albion Americas and regularly joins Filipino guild Agila on Albion Asia. Fluent in Albion and getting there in Tagalog, he’s embraced cross-server chaos with his usual mix of energy and analysis. He’s also the founder of “Leões da Amarela,” a Faction Warfare Discord community designed to train new players in large-scale PvP.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
As an Ambassador, he’s dedicated to breaking language barriers and amplifying the voices of the Portuguese-speaking community. Tune in to twitch.tv/sankt or catch him live on AlbionTV this Friday, July 18 at 20:00 UTC for his Ambassador interview, and your chance to win the Master of Fists vanity bundle!

Happy Eighth Anniversary, Albion Online!

Can you believe Albion Online is already eight years old? What a wild ride it's been! This past year saw the launch of four major content updates, and countless new adventures for all types of players. As we hit this milestone, it’s a good moment to reflect on everything that’s happened over the last twelve months.

Join us as we look back at all the wins, the challenges, and the unforgettable moments of the past year, while getting ready for the exciting journey ahead.

[h3]The Story Unfolds[/h3]
Fresh off last year's celebrations, the Paths to Glory update was launched, which fundamentally changed player engagement by introducing the Albion Journal. This system has been a huge help for new players finding their way, and a fresh source of motivation for seasoned veterans.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Since then, each update has added further new categories, ranging from intense mob-hunting objectives to idyllic island goals. The Journal has become a core part of the game, with many of you striving to complete every mission and earn the most exclusive, prestigious rewards to display your dedication.

[h3]Expanded Horizons[/h3]
Horizons breathed new life into the open world, making exploring Albion more dynamic and exciting. Dynamic Encampments brought unpredictable, time-limited objectives for solo players and groups alike, and the S.A.F.E Portal lowered the barrier for players to venture into the Outlands, helping more players take part in Albion’s most dangerous and rewarding content.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
On top of that, new Crystal Creatures started to inhabit the Outlands, while some major quality-of-life improvements were introduced like the long-awaited HUD Editor, giving players true control over their interface. Together, these changes expanded Albion’s horizons as we moved into the future.

[h3]Year-End Awards[/h3]
As 2024 came to a close, Albion Online picked up two major honors from MMORPG.com: Best Mobile MMO and, for the second year running, Best Indie MMO.

The editors highlighted Albion’s steady stream of updates, its dynamic mix of PvE and PvP, and its fully-featured mobile experience. These awards were a fitting finale to a landmark year that saw four major updates, a new server, and all-time-high player numbers.

[h3]A New Frontier[/h3]
The Rogue Frontier update in February built on Albion’s recent open-world developments, introducing Smuggler’s Dens and the Smuggler’s Network to the Outlands. Smuggler’s Dens offered a safe haven for small-scale players to base themselves in far-flung regions, while the Smuggler’s Network was a new, Outlands-centred trading system, opening up lucrative opportunities for adventurous merchants and greater convenience for gear-hungry black zone warriors.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
The Smuggler Faction gave players new Outlands activities, and rewards to be purchased from a shady character within the Smuggler’s Dens. Meanwhile, Kill Trophies arrived as a way for players to mark their PvP prowess, and a Bank Overview made it easier for players to manage their assets… and find where they left all that loot. With all this and more, new opportunities lay on the Rogue Frontier.

[h3]A New Era[/h3]
April saw another step forward in Albion’s accessibility with the game’s launch on the Epic Games Store, opening the gates for even more players to join the fight and shape the game’s player-driven world.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Around the same time, there was a major change behind the scenes. After more than a decade as Game Director, Robin Henkys stepped down from day-to-day leadership, passing the torch to a trio of long-serving developers: Moritz Bokelmann, Michael Schwahn, and Jon Craft. While Robin continues to contribute to the game’s long-term development, the new team of directors brings an abundance of experience, passion, and vision as Albion moves forward into a new era.

[h3]Into the Depths[/h3]
The Abyssal Depths update arrived at the end of June, dragging Albion’s bravest deep beneath the surface. The Depths offer adrenaline-fueled small-group content, where enemies, both demon and human, stand between you and treasure-filled vaults. These collapsing dungeons offer a pathway into Albion’s PvP content, as players risk their inventory but not their equipped gear.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Antiquarian’s Dens offer a convenient hub for players to access the Depths and other hellish instanced content, and new rewards are on offer for those who take the plunge. At the same time, the game’s new player experience has been overhauled, utilizing the Albion Journal to provide clearer goals and helpful rewards, while supporting players’ agency. The update’s impact is still unfolding, but it’s already clear that something powerful has been unleashed from below.

Whew – eight years in, Albion is bigger, bolder, and more alive than ever – and we couldn’t have done it without you! From the veterans who’ve seen it all to the new players just beginning their journeys, your passion continues to shape the world. From all of us: thank you for being part of Albion’s story, and here’s to the adventures still to come!
