Cross of Auria News

3.0.0 [Build #48, Release Date: September 29, 2019]

Achievements are finally changing in Cross of Auria. There's been an issue over the past few months regarding communication between the plugin inside the game and the Steam servers on Windows. It's not within my ability to fix this, so achievements have been reworked all around. Steam achievements on the whole are removed and replaced with in-game (in Ruby's house) achievements, plus rewards!

3.0.0 [Build #48, Release Date: September 29, 2019]
Note: This is the first of a series of final updates to the chapter 1 project. For more updates, follow the developer at www.facebook.com/CrossOfAuria
New:
- The “lounge” area of Ruby’s House has been converted into a Trophy Hall which will display achievements based on feats completed within the game.
Achievements:
- Achievement support for all platforms on Steam has been disabled due to an issue with the plugin that allowed for it to work in the first place.
Other:
- Various minor bug fixes.

Update
- I mailed my CoA-making PC back to the manufacturer today. It should be roughly six weeks before it gets back, at which point development on Episode 2 can begin and the finishing touches of 3.0 can be put in place.

Some of the contents for Episode 2 are already written. I can't wait to get started!

See you then!

Progress Update

After the semi-explosion of the computer used to create CoA, there has been some down time. The good news that I'm here to announce is that progress was not lost! As soon as I am able, the final update (3.0) will begin development and be launched promptly after.

Most notably, 3.0 will:
- Permanently disable Achievement support across all platforms, as it currently does not work on Mac anyway and is untested on Linux.
- Replace the current Steam based achievement system with an in-game achievement system, viewable inside Ruby's House.
- Serve as the launch point from Episode 1 into Episode 2.

It is unlikely that I will be able to devote the time to releasing the planned Agartha activity in this episode, or provide a further update to the others. Short version on the reasoning why: the enemies are not yet decided or created. All the enemies you encounter in The Pit are enemies found naturally within the game, retaining their xp, gold, and loot drops. To make several (hundred, probably) more before the zones and levels of the next game are confirmed would be unwise, considering the planned change in level scaling and encounters.

When more information is available regarding CoA: Episode 2, you'll hear it here first!

This Week In Revan (2.6.0 - Major Fixes Adjustments)

Today, I've released a massive patch as the true beginning of the end. Most of the quests that were incomplete on the backend now are fully functional and ready to go. If you're already at the end of the game, The Rabbit's Foot has one more wave of quests ready to go! There's still going to be one final update to the Agartha activities, but after 3.0 releases, Episode 2 will begin development. If you're interested in the details of Ep. 2, reach out over facebook!

Anyway, here it is. If there's any issue at all, reach out over facebook ASAP.

Also.. a couple of side notes.
- Episode 2 will not have Mac support.
- Achievement support for Windows in this episode will be disabled with 3.0 and replaced with something at Ruby's House. Details TBA.
- Episode 2 will not have achievement support unless otherwise specified. There seems to be a persistent issue between the system I use for achievements since one of the updates to the engine several months ago.

Current Known Issues:
- The Quest Journal text in the top left is disappearing after the first save and reload of the game. The cause for this is being investigated, but it is unlikely this issue will be resolved.
- Occasionally, the turn order display which shows characters and enemies during combat will only show the enemies. The cause for this is unknown.
- If you complete Ruby’s quest for Lightningstrike before going to the Veil for the third time, entering Frost Forest will show another prompt of completion.
- There are anomalies with the Pit version of the Frostbrood Titan. This is being looked into.
- If you encounter an error or any other oddity, please report it immediately @ www.facebook.com/CrossOfAuria.

Please note that if you have errors in your game file and you were using one of these versions, it is time to make a new save file.

2.5.0 - Item Fix

TLDR of this patch: Item internal list has been restructured. Use any Deprecated Items that you find in your inventory to claim the new item on the list. Item functions are the same as previously.

Current Known Issues:
- Vents currently give the deprecated version of essences. Use these items to claim the correct item.
- The Quest Journal text in the top left is disappearing after the first save and reload of the game. The cause for this is being investigated, but it is unlikely this issue will be resolved.
- Occasionally, the turn order display which shows characters and enemies during combat will only show the enemies. The cause for this is unknown.
- Some situations in the game may award players with “Deprecated Item” instead of the intended item. This will be ironed out in 3.0.0.
- If you encounter an error or any other oddity, please report it immediately @ www.facebook.com/CrossOfAuria.

2.5.0 [Build #45, Release Date: March 09, 2019] Fixes:
- Item sell costs have been adjusted across the board. Some items have been marked to be unsellable to prevent quest interruption.
- Chest in Frostbrood Treasure Room no longer despawns after being looted.
- Each fruit now removes the correct status.
- The crafting table now correctly allows for mixing of Fire and Poison flasks.
Changes:
- Recipe: Moderate HP Potion has been moved to Key Items and can now be used to create 1, 2, 5, or 10 at a time.
- Text changes to numerous items.
- All Schematics and Recipes are now Key Items.
- The internal item structure has been rearranged for easier use moving forward. Many items have been moved further down the list which results in players being able to have two of the same items listed in different areas of the inventory. Once the one higher on the list has been used, it will no longer be available from any source.
- Some items have been replaced with “Deprecated Item”, which will give a copy of the new item when used. Be sure to check your inventory and use all Deprecated Items! This was done to keep the internal list of items manageable.

Edit:
2.5.1 [Build #46, Release Date: March 09, 2019] Changes:
- Deprecated items automatically change all items in the stack to the updated item instead of one at a time.
Fixes:
- Vents no longer give the deprecated version of essences.
- Deprecated items have been removed from shops.
