What is happening with Mars Horizon?
Hey there everyone!
We know we've been pretty quiet of late around Mars Horizon, but we wanted to give you a quick update of where we are, what is happening and why the radio silence.
Release Date: We won’t lie to you. We don’t have one, yet.
The main reason for this is actually really good news for the game. We previously mentioned before that we’ve had support from the guys at the UK Space Agency, but we also have been busy meeting with other space agencies like RALSpace and talking with the European Space Agency (Esa).
I know this isn't the news many were hoping for, and we are sorry for that and the lack of updates, but we are sure these changes, and extra support from key space agencies, will be a big improvement on the game and well worth the wait!
But with that…
Screenshots:
What better way to make it up to you than with some new screenshots? And boy howdy are these some beauties. These are an example of mission gameplay:
1. Static Failure Gif

2. Camera Failure
3. An awesome shot of Mars

What is next?:
Well we wanted to give you an idea of what we're up to here, what the next stages are and what to expect from us.
The main thing is, get the game done. Everyday it is getting closer and closer to being ready for wider sharing.
We're also going to do a refresh of the Steam page and provide a more regular announcement update from around April time (plus always worth signing up to our email newsletter!).
Any other news?
Well only one really cool one… we've started a new Kickstarter called Mars Horizon: Blast Off! - it’s a stand alone card game that came out of some gameplay prototypes we built for Mars Horizon - you can read the full story on our website.
It launches on the 5th February and you can sign up to find out more by following us on Kickstarter or signing up to the newsletter.
We are also going to be doing a cosmic space fact session on Twitter soon, so likes and RT are responded to with awesome space facts - don’t miss out!
Finally, if you do have any questions pop them in the discussion group and we’ll answer anything you throw at us!
Speak to you soon!
- AurochMatt and the team of Mars Horizon
