Preliminary Patch Notes #5

Hello Smallfolk!

We've got some neat QoL features and system improvements coming for Thursday, this week! The foundations need to be strong to support everything that comes next!

Check out the changes below:
  • Multiple tamed creatures
    1. You will be able to tame more than one creature at a time. There is no limit to this, you can have 50 ladybugs or one of each creature, or 50 of each creature!
    2. You can only have one creature active at a time, meaning that the other creatures you have will remain tamed but will be inactive.
    3. We have big plans for creature taming and this is only the first step!
  • Build space visualization for the Great Tree.
There will be a transparent wall whilst having a build hammer equipped on your Great Tree, so you can see the border limit of where your constructions will be saved.

  • Multi-item drop on bosses.
Boss creatures will now drop the same number of key crafting items as there are players in the world, so you no longer need to fight a boss multiple times for each Smallfolk to progress.

  • Improved animations for the Waterbug and Cockroach with them both receiving more lifelike attacks.

We've got a more system improvements planned coming over the next weeks, so stay tuned!

Social Recap / Teasers!

Hello Folks! Now I know that some of you don't have Twitter (and boy, do I envy you) So we thought we'd just put together a little social recap for our steam users so they know what we've been teasing and working on

!

A little teaser of an upcoming something...

What do you see with your Smallfolk eyes?

What creature do you think this little dude is?

Got some QoL stuff on the way too!

Gonna be adding in some wall-indicators, (so you know if your great tree base is going to get cut in half)

Currently raising an army

Not sure who I'm overthrowing yet but they better be ready!

Developer Faq #4

Hey Smallfolk! Here's the next installment of our dev FAQ , keeping you folks in the loop! This week we're covering some plans for the future and addressing some QOL !

Will there be more Storage Management functionality, As in universal access to stored items while crafting? This is something we'll be improving incrementally, we added the option to transfer all items of a type in the latest update. We are very much aware that a lot of players have created very intricate storage solutions in their bases, and making that process easier and more streamlined is definitely something we'll be working towards throughout Early Access.

Armour dying with bug juice? More cosmetic options are absolutely something we want to add over time. While we can't confirm dyes will be one of them, they are definitely among the ideas being considered.

Is there going to be any sort of combat update? The short answer is yes. We've been compiling player feedback regarding combat, and are currently building our plans to improve and refine this area. Some tweaks will be smaller and ongoing - as with the input buffers in the recent Giant's Fall update - while we work towards a more comprehensive combat overhaul.

Are you planning on adding more seasonal exclusive harvests, creatures and items?
like pretty pink blossoms in spring, fallen leaves and acorn at fall, Snowdrops flower in the winter?
Without spoiling any of our upcoming plans, we can say that seasonal events and surprises are absolutely something we are looking to implement. What form these will take, we can't reveal just yet!
