New units in Strategic Mind: Blitzkrieg

However, if you thought that 203 mm field artillery is a little excessive, you are in for a surprise.

Meet the Br-5 280 mm mortar M1939 (Russian: 280-мм мортира образца 1939 года (Бр-5)) - younger and bigger brother of B-4.

“It was the Red Army's heaviest field piece during the war.”

With only 47 such pieces build it was indeed a rare yet devastating guest on the battlefield. Despite low numbers and unlike many prototypes, which were never really out into the field, this one was in active service since the Winter War.

“After World War II the Br-5 was to remain in Soviet service until the 1970s.”

Both these artillery pieces look gigantic compared to the German 150 mm sFH.
