What’s New in the Surgery Room?

Hello surgeons!

It’s been almost two months since we launched Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas on Steam and we have been working hard to fix issues and deliver a great Halloween update (which is now live!), so we would like to give you a quick update of what else has changed since launch.

Apart from several small fixes and some quality of life improvements, here is a list of the things we have fixed and changed so far thanks to your feedback:

  • We've listened to your feedback and will no longer automatically add friends to your Steam friends list when adding them in the game. Be aware that removing a friend from your Steam friends list will also remove them from your in-game friends list
  • Fixed player names displaying incorrectly at the end of a level
  • Adding a friend in Steam now adds the friend in-game. Removing a friend needs to happen both in-game and in your Steam friends list, for full flexibility

We would also like to mention that the long loading screens and authentication issues should also have improved - we have made some important server side updates that hopefully helped.

We really hope that these fixes made a great impact in your experience and you can focus on the most important matter: performing terrible surgeries with your friends.

Please keep sending us your feedback! Your bug reporting and support messages mean a lot to us.

Aside from that, we have a message from one of our lead developers on the title, Mark:

Safe to say it’s been a busy month since we launched on Steam! The team has been overwhelmed, in the best way, with the number of players jumping into the surgery and operating on Bob.

As with any live service game, there were a few teething issues. We have now pushed out fixes across all platforms to solve the most prominent problems, such as those stopping players from getting into the game altogether or joining in with friends. The team is continuing to work hard on terminating any existing bugs, and we can’t thank you enough for your patience and understanding.

Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas has been a labour of love over the last few years, and it’d mean a lot to the team if you could leave a Steam review for the game. Steam reviews are super important for indie developers and publishers, and we love to read all your positive experiences.

A big thank you, again, for giving Surgeon Simulator 2: Access All Areas a whirl. Between completing development and QA work, watching your live streams, seeing your ridiculous screenshots and reading about your fun in-game experiences is our favourite thing ✌️
