Hello Survivors!

As part of our anniversary we set out to gather some fun statistics from the profile tab to present to you all!

While we found that you are all pretty good Survivors, having escaped 7 million times, not all survivors are equally cooperative.

One player in particular has left their team behind to take the Escape Pod almost 500 times, in contrast to another player who has singlehandedly called the escape almost 5,000 times!

In terms of animals killed, there is clearly some bias going on, as you have killed twice as many Wolves as you have Moose.
In total brutally murdering 44 million animals for food, hide, loot, or just prestige. This is almost 15 times animals killed as there are wolves, bears, and moose still alive combined; but you don't stop there, cutting down 80 million trees and gathering over 132 million berries. After all this environmental damage, you have headed back into the cabin to cook 113 million items!

In a game of deception, you all know that not everyone can be trusted. In total you have all used 1 million truth serums trying to figure out who the real Traitor is - one player alone having killed 9 thousand Traitors. As a result, Traitors have resorted to surviving in the wilderness where they've opened 45 million Traitor Crates and sabotaged 2 million objectives.

In the end, you've all played 3 million games and collectively walked further than the distance to Saturn, which we are so grateful for!

Thank you for the past 4 years of funny moments and laughs!

Stay warm, Survivors!

Where's Gondolo Update

Attention Survivors!

Where is Gondolo?

This update removes the Gondola map from the Normal mode rotation, replacing it with a new "Beach" map.

We've also reworked multiple game mechanics:
- Traitor Airdrops now drop on the completion of objectives
- The Dig Site objective now has its pieces carried like batteries.

On top of that we're adding a new Traitor item called "Global Mute", which temporarily mutes all communication.

Install the latest update (available on all platforms) to try out these new changes!
NEW FEATURES & GENERAL CHANGES:
New ā€œBeachā€ Map
 • A new map has been added to the game.
 • This new map is largely the same as Gondola, but without actually having a Gondola.
 • This map is only available in Normal game modes.

Traitor Airdrops Rework
 • Traitor Airdrops no longer act as rewards for stalling objective progress.
 • Traitor Airdrops are now dropped upon objective completion:
 • 1 Traitor Airdrop is awarded for the completion of First Objective.
 • 1 Traitor Airdrop is awarded for the completion of Second Objective.

DigSite Objective Rework
 • Dig site objects are now carried like batteries rather than held in a player's inventory.

New Traitor Item
 • ā€œGlobal Muteā€ has been added as a new Traitor item.
 • Similar to the ā€œJam Radioā€ item, this item temporarily mutes all communication.
BALANCE CHANGES:
Traitor Balance Changes
 • Increased spawn rate of level 1 energy drinks in low-risk traitor crates.
 • Increased crafting cost of Solar Pulse traitor item from 10 Traitor Credits to 12.
 • Separated Traitor Airdrops into different loot tables
 • 1st Airdrop contains less offensive items, and more traps and deceptive utilities
 • 2nd Airdrop contains more power-shifting, offensive items.

General Balance Changes
 • Adjusted spawn rates for first objective animal waves in Blackout.
 • This should decrease the difficulty of this objective.
 • Decreased the amount of resources that spawn in the South West tile in Blackout
 • The Gondola map is removed from Normal Mode’s map rotation.
 • Gondola is still available for play in custom games.

BUG FIXES:
• Improved start up flow if network connectivity is unavailable at start up
 • Fixed incorrect air drops being sent when completing certain objectives in Blackout mode.
 • Fixed players being unaffected by jamming on blue and yellow radios if they had a red radio equipped at the moment jamming took effect.
 • Traitor-only items now appear at the bottom of the crafting menu.
 • Fixed a translation issue for the word ā€œBackā€ in Ukrainian.

KNOWN ISSUES:
• The Immune role is mistranslated in Canadian French.
 • Many supported languages are not updated for the new Yeti and Hunter descriptions.
 • First objective beacon is appearing on the North East tile on the Blackout map.
 • Some icons on the new timeline screen appear mirrored compared to their actual location.
 • The words "Emote Menu" appear instead of a prompt to assign a keybind in the keyboard keybinds settings.
 • Event icon remains on screen when using a Hysterical Gas or Solar Flare remote during an Airdrop Global Event.
 • Players resurrected by a Necromancer while in a herb bush will become permanently slowed.
 • The "Survive without placing any traps" bonus objective does not fail if an Icebomb is used to trap an objective.
 • Incorrect Tracker Tag color is displayed if a player swaps clothes with a player who was tagged with a green tag.
 • Players using their DLC trial cannot access the timeline after their game.

ToxMod Trial update:

We've decided not to use ToxMod within Project Winter at this time. It has been disabled in our backend and the related code will be removed in a future update.

We love working with Modulate, and ToxMod is an excellent tool for finding blatantly toxic players and has a bright future ahead. That said, after reviewing what it found during the trial, we've noticed that the reporting system we had in place was more efficient for our team size and the needs of our community.

We're still passionate about solving these issues when they arise, but this glimpse into the broader statistics for Project Winter has given us confidence that our pre-existing approaches have been working reasonably well.

We will explore additional options to keep our community safe, fun, and hate-free. In the meantime, please keep reporting bad eggs you encounter both from within the game and to us directly on our discord: www.discord.gg/projectwinter.
