Fight or Flight - 0.40.63 - Hotfix

Just a small patch this week to fix some annoying bugs! :O

Patch notes:
Vehicle; Fixed bug with vehicle animations sometimes getting set to the incorrect seat for remote clients.
Vehicle; Fixed visual glitch when player exits vehicle.
Player / UI; Map location marker now shows up on screen as well as map, it also reports the distance until you reach the marker. Markers can be added by clicking on the map, removed by holding shift and clicking.
Weapons; Visual recoil tweaked on all AR's and Rifles.
Level; Fixed bad spawn locations for vehicles in Mil Base.

Big changes!

Hi guys, Perhaps the biggest change with this update is the ability for you to start a server, and then have your friends join via steam.

Right now the system is very rudimentary, and will be improved with a full lobby system and squad modes at a later date.

PATCH NOTES:

Major changes:
-Players can now play over steam with friends easily.
-DZ game mode now updated to feature the full class selection (previously training) Training mode removed.

Miscellaneous fixes:
AI; Bots now only start *after* the warmup
AI; Zombie damage increased slightly
UI; Fixed description for quick use items in bindings menu
UI; Updated FPS limiter options in menu to now use a slider for more granular control
Inventory; Fixed bug that caused items to disappear if attempting to equip a non valid attachment from the "vicinity" section
Player; Character movement changes. Base walk speed and sprint speed increased. Speed now also gets modified based on the equipped weapon (pistol, melee or holstered is 100%, smg, shotgun is 97%, rifles are 95%; please note this will likely get tweaked further in the future)
Player; Boosters changed, they will now decrease faster, but offer you slightly more boost
Player; More inertia added to character movement
Player; Tweaked head bob in ADS mode to provide a more even bob over the different scopes
Weapons; Added new FN SCAR-L Assault Rifle
Weapons; Improved revolver skins
Weapons; Improved projectile path trace effect
Weapons; Replaced/Improved all reticles on sniper scopes, and 3x magnifier
Vehicles; Buggy can now carry passengers
Misc; Air drop system changed to use a Helicopter (WOO!)
Misc; Various optimizations
Misc; Improvements to movement replication

And many more small fixes/additions.

Official server shutdowns...

Very sad news, I'm sorry.

Due to lack of players I have unfortunately had to make the decision to shut down the official servers. Sadly I can no longer afford to keep them running, and they will be shut down at the end of the week.


I plan to continue developing the game, to add a co-op mode so that people can play with their friends, and would still like to work more on the single-player.
I have provided the server files, and a guide on how to start your own servers, the single-player mode will always remain.

Thank you for your support so far, I am truly sorry that it has come to this.

Fight or Flight - 0.40.61 - Engine upgrade and more!



With this patch we have upgraded to Unreal Engine 4.26!!!
4.26 gives us new rendering features, which we will be implementing in the coming months. With this change we have also implemented an experimental DX12 mode, which can be access by starting the game with the DX12 option.

In this patch we have also adjusted the height of the entire level, it is now ~15-20% higher, this means more hills, and provides a more interesting landscape :)

Misc; Engine upgraded to Unreal 4.26.2
Misc; Added experimental DX12 mode, This can be accessed when starting the game by selecting the DX12 option on launch (please note it will give you an error when exiting the game, this is experimental and not recommended yet...)
Misc; Fixed bug preventing motion blur from working
AI; Fixed bug causing zombie AI to sometimes get confused when bot AI dies
Player; Fixed bug with weapon not un-holstering correctly sometimes
Player; Tweaked how weapon aim is handled in 3p mode to improve the experience
Player; Improved 3p camera
UI; Improved crosshair system, added dynamic crosshair for 3p mode which should improve the experience with hip fire
UI; Added audio volume slider for weapon shot sounds
UI; Weaponbar, removed "flare" from weapon bar and replaced with quickconsume of "painkillers"

Vehicles; Fixed some visual bugs with the Golf Cart


Notes; This patch requires that the key bindings are reset. This should happen automatically, but *if you have issues with controls* please go into the options, click on "bindings" then click the "reset" button and it should resolve the issues. Thanks!

Fight or Flight - 0.40.6 - Patch notes




New game mode!
A new "Training" game mode has been added, this mode is similar to Drop Zone, but when you spawn in you get to pick from 4 differnt load outs.
These are "Rifleman", "Support", "Marksman" and "Special Forces", Each class will spawn with a primary and secondary weapon and ammo!

Audio improvements
A complete overhaul of all Spatilization and Occlusion for all sounds. This means that sounds will more accurately reflect the surroundings. It will now also be easier to pin-point the direction that the sound is coming from.

Vehicle's improvements
A new "reset" feature for vehicles has been added, this can be triggered while the vehicle is at a complete stop (handbrake "right mouse", then press "R").
This is helpful for getting the vehicle unstuck if needed :)

Menu changes for "PLAY" menu
This has been updated to now read:
FIND MATCH, BROWSE OFFICAL, BROWSE LOCAL, START OFFLINE.
You can start a single player match from the "Start Offline" option. The new Browse local option will show you LAN matches, and is a future place holder for open public hosted servers.



Remaining fixes and changes as follows:
AI; Bots now use all the differnt weapons
AI; Bots now a bit harder, be careful! ;)
AI; Bug preventing alert sounds for Zombies, Wolves and Monsters from not playing now fixed
Audio; Fixed bug preventing volume levels from being applied correctly on launch
Level; Fixed bug with landscape looking too bright in certain situations
Misc; Random time of day settings will now favor day time
UI; Improvements to "Weapon" bar, Added icons for the quick use consumables, can now also be set to autohide, or off from the settings
UI; Improvements to "Vision" bar, can now also be set to autohide, or off from the settings
Zone; Zone sizes tweaked for all stages, zone now gets much smaller, sooner!!!
