Demo Update [Patch 2] + Steam Deck Support

Hey there everyone!

Thank you all so much for your patience and feedback, it’s really appreciated as we iron out some of the issues to get the demo into shape!

Steam Deck Guide:

Apologies for the inconvenience on this front, in order to play Rogue Eclipse on Steam Deck please follow these instructions:

  • Go to Settings/Select the cog
  • Properties
  • Compatibility
  • Enable ‘Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool’
  • Select ‘Proton Experimental’ from the drop down menu
  • Then when you go to play either choose ‘Deck Optimized Mode’ or ‘Ultra Performance Mode’

Once this is done you should be all set to play it!

Patch 2 Notes [Version 0.093A.013.027-VS-EN]:

Enemies:
Tuned the maneuvering capabilities of the Enforcer (this enemy generally appears between levels 6-7, occasionally can appear on Levels 4-5!)

Audio:
Changed default volume from 30 to 50 on first time load
Apologies for this, was an overcorrection mostly because I’m used to audio in games killing my ears on startup 😅

Menus:
Added a direct link to the feedback form

Now the journey has just begun and I’m well aware not all feedback has been completely addressed here - rest assured I’m aiming to have at least one more patch in before the start of NextFest and trying to see how much can be resolved in the demo versus being resolved in the full release.

Once again, super grateful to everyone who’s jumped in to play the game - the support is super appreciated! Please continue to provide feedback, report any issues as well as wishlist Rogue Eclipse!

Please take care everyone!

Best,

Husban/Mcdoogleh

Rogue Eclipse Demo [Patch 1]

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much jumping in and taking the demo out for a spin along with the feedback, we really appreciate it!

So we discovered two bugs that came up, one with the upgrade screen and the other was an audio prompt that would play far too many times!

In any case, I'm pleased to say these issues should be resolved now! We're hoping to fit in at least one or two patches ahead of NextFest to resolve some of the balance issues some players have experienced.

In the meantime if any of ya'll have any additional feedback, please drop us a line here!

Hope everyone has a great remainder of their week!

ROGUE ECLIPSE DEMO DROPPING... NOW!

Hey everyone!

What is this?!? Two updates in the space of a week!?!

Honestly, it’s about time. We really appreciate everyone’s patience with us as we’ve been building this game and figured as a treat we’d release our demo early just ahead of the Steam Summer NextFest (which we’ll be participating with by the way!)

So what awaits you in the demo?
  • Tutorial
  • Entirely playable run
  • Multiple input options
  • Multiple Difficulty Modes
  • Multiple Enemies
  • Full-Voice Acting
  • Story Elements

FAQ:

Do I need a gamepad or a joystick to play this game?
NO! I’m pleased to say we have input support for keyboard/mouse and gamepad! Unfortunately we currently don’t have rebindable input options, this will change for the full release

How long is the demo?
This really depends on your familiarity with the genre and aptitude for piloting (which isn’t a must!), we’d expect a run to take anywhere from 20-40 minutes. However, in the full-release multiple successful runs would be required to complete the campaign!

Is Steam Deck Supported? YES! I would highly advise sticking to the ‘Deck Optimized’ or ‘Ultra-Performance Mode’ options please!

How different will this be from the full release?
Massively in the sense we’ll have more unlocks, enemies, modes and options in the full release along with our boss-fights + campaign! Alongside this we’re using this demo as an opportunity to get an idea of how our runs are feeling at the moment!

We really hope ya’ll enjoy the demo and have fun! In the meantime please do share your feedback with us, follow us on socials (Bluesky/Youtube) and we’ll see you starside!

Best,

Husban/Mcdoogleh

Rogue Eclipse Spring 2025 Development Update!

Hey everyone!

Once again I know it’s been some time (not to be a broken record again); but needless to say we’ve been hard at work on the game since the lovely reaction ya’ll had to our appearance in the PC Gaming Showcase last year. Figured I’d chronicle what we’ve been up to since then!

Six One Indie Spring Showcase:

As previously mentioned, the team has been working hard and I’m proud to share just a small snippet of that progress with our latest trailer!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

While Rogue Eclipse is very much focused on delivering the most spectacular and explosive spaceflight action possible; there is certainly more to our universe than meets the eye!

Special thanks to the amazing folks at Six One Indie for providing us an opportunity to share this trailer, they’ve been absolutely fantastic to work with and I can’t express how appreciative we are to have been included as a part of this showcase!

The MIX (Media Indie Exchange) GDC Edition:

At GDC we held a limited hands-on demo for attendees of the Media Indie Exchange Event, we figured it was about time we allowed some folks to try out the game. After being in development for so long, it felt great to finally see players just having a blast with what we had there!

London Games Festival Official Selection:

That brings us to the London Games Festival, where the title was not only a part of the ‘Official Selection’ but alongside their inaugural event ‘New Games Plus’! This was literally just weeks after GDC, so having never shown a game before I was quite overwhelmed by the queues and positive reaction to the demo we had available to attendees!

So where do we go from here?

Well, I’m pleased to say we’ll be participating as a part of Steam Summer NextFest! With that said rest assured, you won’t need to watch this space too much longer now!

In the meantime, you all please take care and I really can’t wait for ya’ll to get your hands on the demo!

Best,

Husban (AKA Mcdoogleh)
