Greetings Mercenaries!

Today we bring a larger patch to MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and the DLC "Heroes of the Inner Sphere". A few of the highlights are as follows:


GENERAL

Added an option to hide the invite code so Content Creators can livestream without concern.
Fixed a bug that made it so players cannot access co-op if their contact list becomes corrupted.
Fixed a bug where the Cold Storage is empty when importing an old Campaign save to New Career.
Fixed an issue where custom Mod Content was not being loaded by the game. Prior to this mods could only replace/substitute existing game assets.


In addition to these updates, there are also over 100 more updates and fixes, including:

Various crash fixes.
Various UI fixes.
Various localization fixes.
Various minor bug fixes

We hope you are enjoying the launch of MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries on Steam, GoG, and XBOX, all of the updates, and the first DLC "Heroes of the Inner Sphere"!

This is just a quick post to let you know that we have a patch coming out today to address the following issues:

The steam overlay co-op invite feature has been implemented, so you can now invite your friends via the native Steam overlay invite system.
Some players experienced an issue with 'Mechs missing from Cold Storage after the Game update. This issue had already been resolved for Epic Game Store but is now resolved for all other platforms including Microsoft Store and Gamepass.
There was an issue where foliage spawners only spawned one DCC mesh type per tyle resulting in a lack of diversity, this has been resolved on all platforms.

Welcome to our MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries and Heroes of the Inner Sphere Launch Day post! In this post, you will find all the latest information and updates to keep you informed. As with every launch, there is some last-minute information that comes up that we want to relay to players. We will keep this post updated for the coming weeks to keep this information current!

Release Time

The Date and time of release is May 27th at 00:00 UTC. This means the game should be available on Steam, May 26th at 5 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Infantry

As part of our Free Year One Update, we have had infantry present in the game for quite some time. After careful consideration, we decided to keep this feature as a Mod instead of a Feature. While infantry added ambient life it didn't reach our intended goals. You can expect this Mod to be available shortly after launch.


CROSSPLAY CO-OP

Piranha Games has implemented a Co-op Crossplay system that allows players to share IDs and add friends across all digital storefronts and Platforms. However, on specific platforms, you can also use the native friend's list and invite systems to connect for Co-op. You can even use a mix of the 2 invite systems to connect natively with friends of the same platform as well as players on other platforms and enjoy co-op gaming. Presently, however, we are aware of an issue with Steam's native co-op feature. We are working on finding a solution and will patch the game in the coming weeks to address this. In the meantime, you can use MW5's own co-op invite functionality.


MODS and MODDING

On the topic of mods for MW5. It is advisable best to wait until your favorite Mod is marked as compatible with the latest update and the DLC before installing. We will be working closely with our mod-building community, providing them support and a direct line of communication with devs and each other in the Modding channel on the MechWarrior Discord server at Join the MechWarrior: MW5Mercs & MWO Discord Server!
