[h2]New Events[/h2]

This time I added a gift trading event for the towers. Or should I say 6 trading events!? Well sort of. You'll understand when you see them. Dividing the original single big tower event idea into a bunch of small ones was definitely the way to go.

The power cost for a few characters in Quickplay has also been changed. A lot of you reading this are probably about to find out right here that Defect could actually equip one whole extra panic attack without having a score reduction! THIS is why she cost 2 power to use. It had nothing to do with Adamant Will which does nothing in Quickplay. I gave her this little quirk to differentiate her more from Her Heart, but it's really only confused players and made them ignore Defect in this mode entirely. So I've decided to change her to be the same as Her Heart in terms of cost and panic slots. Normally, I wouldn't have done this, but now I have Alter Heart to fill the same role that I originally intended for Defect with the extra panic slot, and she does it a little better with slightly more varied base stats.

  • Alter Twin's quickplay power cost has been reduced from 3 to 2
  • The goal for a dream that required you to radiate 30 events has been increased to 33 events. I've been told this would make the dream name's reference work in Russian too.

-Fixed some typos and missing text data for some interaction in Voltage Veyeral's event
-The game won't instantly crash if you start it with an outdated custom language. It will still crash later, but this will allow you to change the language to English for now in the options menu.

[h2]New Event[/h2]

I made a new alternate event for the one I added last time. They are similar, but each have different minigames. I don't have any plans for another event of this type, but if any of the other upcoming minigames seems like a good fit, then I'll probably add another one. These each only took like 2 days to make start to finish since they are just modifying an existing minigame, and the writing is pretty simple.

The rest of my week was spent restructuring the text files. There are so many events now, and it was getting hard to navigate all the event files. I reference between them a lot, so this was very important!

And the week before that? I was playing Earth Defense Force 6 all week! At least it didn't cause me to delay this time like Helldivers 2 did.

[h2]More Language Support[/h2]
This one is huge for translations! So far, the community has made a Russian translation, and several people have started on a few other languages. But these were all the easy languages for me to add support for. All I had to do was add in the Russian alphabet and all the accented Latin letters to my pixel fonts. This wasn't too much work for me.

The real problems started when someone wanted to try translating everything into Chinese. There was no way I could make all the Chinese glyphs myself. So I had to implement a way for a Chinese font to be loaded in. The real problem starts when you realize that there are A LOT of Chinese glyphs. Without getting too deep into the programming side, this basically caused the game to lag just by scrolling through the collection menu. I had to go through the collection and most of the events and scenes in the whole game to optimize the way all the text was being drawn on screen. After all this work, the game will be able to support most languages now! Japanese and Korean are other examples of languages that can now be done by loading in fonts. This was a ton of work, so let's hope it ends up paying off!

Keep in mind, these are essentially community mods for now. No language will be officially supported until the game is done, because I am still writing, changing text, and updating the game so frequently. If you would like to try translating the game into another language, you can find out how to do it by joining the Discord. The invite link is in a pinned post in the steam discussion forum!

[h2]New Event[/h2]

The new event is automatically unlocked, but it is exclusive to The Towers mode! There has been a change of plans for it's design. Initially, the plan was to create a single event that was similar to a bonding time event. It would serve multiple functions and have the complexity of Voltage Veyeral's event. Instead of that, I have decided to split that idea into several smaller events. This way, there can be multiple shorter events for The Towers instead of only a single one you would run into on almost every run.

  • Bug Fix: On controller, using the B button to leave the pause menu could use a panic attack if you held it too long. You must now let go of the button after unpausing before being able to panic again.

I'll split up the events for other modes now that the tower one is divided into a bunch of smaller ones. The event for endless mode will be a simple one that will introduce shiny battles to the monster choices if you meet certain conditions.

They said coming soon v9.10! That wasn't a typo, I never make those! And I did it on purpose the whole time haha!
