It's almost holiday season already, and we decided to deliver a small release with balance changes, exclusive offers and December Advent Calendar! Be sure to tune in on a daily basis for some juicy rewards!

Balance Changes
This release, like any others, brings some balance changes:

- Stoic Protectors see their strength increased to 3/4/5/6/7 (from 2/3/3/4/5)
- Archdruid Earyn can no longer freely cast spells costing more than her own cost
- Voidsurgers now require 3 surrounding enemy units to proc (up from 2)
- Lasting Remains see their strength increased to 8/9/11/13/15 (from 7/8/10/12/15)
- Petrified Fossils see their strength increased to 4/5/6/8/10 (from 4/5/6/7/8) and their ability now procs on equal and lower strength units (from only lower strength).


Daily Check-in-calendar

Who doesn't like a good Advent Calendar full of goodies during the month of December? Get ready for the Stormbound Advent Calendar, named "Daily Check-in Calendar" in the game.

Here is the idea: every day of December 2020, you will be rewarded with a small gift provided you log into the game. Gifts vary from coins, rubies and fusion stones, to individual cards and even books! If you do not log in on a given day, the reward is lost forever, but you can still come back the days after for the next ones.

For players who are willing to spend a few bucks into the game, you can buy a Premium Pass for $9.99 to have additional rewards. You can buy this pass at any point in December and will unlock all past premium daily rewards immediately.

It is important to note, that Premium pass grants both the free reward and the premium rewards for every single day you log in.


Black Friday offers

Like most holiday events, there will be some one-time only special offers for people willing to put some money into the game. The Black Friday exclusive packs will be available from November 24th (9AM CET) until November 30th (end of day) so be sure to jump on them!

- Raining Cats ($9.99): guaranteed 3 copies of each of the 6 rare and epic felines + 3 Classic Tomes
- Edrik's Army ($19.99): 2 copies of Edrik the Fierce + 18 cards amongst the most played across the last 3 months globally

It’s spooky season, and we've released a small update. We decided to wait a little with this official announcement, until the moment, when we're certain, that everything is working as intended. It is, and the Halloween event can finally started!

Free rubies

Anyone logging into the game at least once between November 1st and November 15th will be granted 30 rubies. Happy Halloween! 🎃



BALANCE CHANGES

- Rain of Frogs now costs 3/2/2/2/2 (from 3/3/2/2/1). As a result, the amount of spawned toads is adjusted 4/4/4-5/5/6 (from 4/5/5/6/6).
- Rogue Sheep now costs 6 mana at all levels (down from 7).
- Broodmother Qordia now costs 6 mana at all levels (down from 7).
- Eloth the Ignited now moves forward if it kills the pushed unit.
- Personal Servers now cost 3 mana at all levels (down from 4). As a result, their strength is reduced by 1 (from 2/2/3/3/4 to 1/2/2/3/3) and their ability is adjusted (from 2/3/3/4/4 to 2/2/3/3/4).
- Icicle Burst now can freeze a unit instead of dealing damage if it is not frozen yet.

NERF COMPENSATION
Owners of Rain of Frogs will be compensated proportionally to the level of the card: 0/15/40/120/250 coins and 0/2/5/10/20 fusion stones.

UPDATED FREEZE MECHANIC

As hinted before, the freeze mechanic is being reworked. Until now, a frozen unit would simply skip its moving phase at the beginning of its next turn. That remains the case, however it also temporarily loses its Death Trigger Effect and its Survive Trigger Effect.

That means freezing is no longer solely used to slow down the enemy, but can be used to avoid side-effects of attacking a unit, such as the elders’ abilities or ‘on death’ effects.

This impacts Icicle Burst, Frosthexers, Moment’s Peace and Midwinter Chaos directly, and Spellbinder Zhevana and Wisp Clouds indirectly.


NEW ANCIENT RACE

Originally announced as “Bisanu”, later renamed “Stoic Protectors”, the new Ancient card is finally available and will bring a whole new concept into the game through the “Ancient” race.

On play, Stoic Protectors effectively disable the ability of bordering/surrounding units (depending on level). This effect is permanent, lasting until the unit dies, and cannot be canceled. It only works on units and cannot be used to disable structures. This peculiar property makes Stoic Protectors another pretty effective counter to elders.


CHEAPENED BRAWL

Similar to what happened for the third anniversary, the Brawl starting on November 5th (and only that one) is going to be cheaper. All fight will cost 50% of their original price.


EXCLUSIVE PROMOTIONS


Halloween event means exclusive promotion packs and offers. Quite a few options as always:

The Stoic Protectors pack: 3 copies of Stoic Protectors, 5 fusion stones and 750 coins. This one-time $9.99 pack is be available between November 1st and November 8th.

The Trick or Treat bundle: 6 Mythic Tomes, 6 Heroic Tomes and 6 Classic Tomes. This one-time bundle $29.99 will is available between November 1st and November 15th.

There are some special weekly and monthly vanishing packs available throughout the month of November.
All coin and ruby bundles yield +20% more resources between November 1st and November 15th.

It'll contain:

New Feline Card - SLYBOOTS,
Rare Common, 4 Mana, 1 Movement
4/5/6/7/8 Strength
Ability: On play confuse up to 1/1/2/2/3 bordering enemy units

New Feline Card (available from 15.10.2020) - EXCITED MOUSER
Rare Common, 5 Mana, 0 movement
5/6/7/9/11 Strength
Ability: On play confuse the same number of surrounding enemies, as there are surrounding friendly units.

New ANCIENT Card - Bisanu (available from around 2 weeks after Excited Mouser
Stats and ability are for now a secret.


Social Panel
It features Discord, Reddit, Stormbound-Kitty, the Stormbound Wiki page and social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

Connecting with Stormbound on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will grant 10 rubies for each.


Balance Changes

- Doctor Mia's ability now affects surrounding structures at level 2 instead of bordering only
- Scrapped Planners' strength is now 4/5/6/7/8 (from 3/4/5/6/7), but their ability remains the same
- Booming Professors no longer have initial movement (down from 1)
- Siegebreakers now have 1 movement (up from 0), and their ability affect surrounding structures instead of bordering only
- Voidsurgers' ability now triggers when having at least 2 surrounding enemies instead of bordering only
- Kindred's Grace now grants more strength to the main target (from 5/6/6/8/10) to 6/7/7/9/11
- Avian Stalkers' mana cost is now 6 (down from 7)
- Hair-Raising Cat's ability now triggers for a surrounding enemy instead of bordering only
- Bigthrust Tigers' mana cost is now 2 (down from 3) but their strength is now 1/2/3/4/5 (down from 3/4/5/6/7)
- Laurus, King in Exile's ability strength limit is increased by 1 (from 3/4/5/6/7 to 4/5/6/7/8)
- Dark Harvest now affects enemy surrounding a friendly unit instead of bordering only
- Toxic's Sacrifice's mana cost is now 2 (up from 1) but deals one more damage (from 1/2/3/4/5 to 2/3/4/5/6).

Vanishing Packs

For those of you who are not against putting real money in the game every now and then, you will be pleased to know, that there are now many more packs.

Every day, every week, and every month (client local time 9AM), you will be offered one random resource pack and one random card pack.

All daily packs cost $1.99, all weekly packs cost $9.99 and all monthly packs cost $29.99. These packs can be bought once per period.

We're having our 3rd Anniversary tommorow, but decided to give it a start today, because of the brawl.
Log in for gifts, cheaper brawl, amazing offers and more!

What's happening:

To begin with, every player will receive a one-time bundle containing 330 coins, 30 rubies and 3 fusion stones as well as one random LEGENDARY card upon login.


BRAWL

All matches for the Brawl following the 18th of September will cost a third of their original price (rounded to the closest multiple of 5). Here are the adjust values for every milestone:

- 0 (-0)
- 5 (-15)
- 15 (-35)
- 35 (-65)
- 50 (-100)
- 65 (-135)
- 85 (-165)
- 100 (-200)
- 135 (-265)
- 165 (-335)


BOOSTED TOMES

If you were waiting for an appealing sale to spend all your rubies, now is the time. Because between September 17th and September 20th, all tomes will contain 33% more cards. As a result:

- Mythic, Heroic and Classic tomes will yield 8 cards instead of 6.
- Noble books will yield 4 cards instead of 3.
- Humble books will still contain a single card.


LIMITED OFFERS

For players who can afford or are willing to spend some money into the game, this 3rd anniversary brings exciting new limited one-time offers between September 17th and September 24th:

- At $4.99: 1 Mythic Tome + 100 coins
- At $19.99: 4 Mythic Tomes + 4 Heroic Tomes + 500 coins
- At $49.99: 10 Mythic Tomes + 10 Heroic Tomes + 10 Classic Tomes + 1,500 coins

We don't want you to get bored with the meta, thus why, we've decided to welcome the new season with a few balance changes (more coming soon, in a big update).


Patch info:


NEUTRAL
Emerald Towers now have 4/5/5/6/7 strength (instead of 3/4/4/5/6).

Bladestorm’s ability now deals 1/2/2-3/3/4 damage (instead of 1/1-2/2/2-3/3), making it more compelling at level 5.

Flooding the Gates now costs 4 mana (instead of 5). It is unclear whether that will increase the popularity of this card at all however.

Unhealthy Hysteria now costs 3 mana (instead of 2) and its ability now targets a unit with at most 4/5/6/7/8 strength.

Hunter’s Vengeance now costs 2 mana at every level (instead of 3 at level 1 to 3) and its ability now deals 2/3/4/5/6 damage (instead of 2/3/4/4/5 damage).

Crazy Bombers now cost 8 mana (instead of 9) and their strength now is 6/7/9/11/13. This might mean this card gets to be used outside of mana ramp decks.

Harvesters of Souls now cost 5 mana (instead of 6). Hopefully a way to make this interesting community-designed card more prominent in the meta.

Terrific Slayers now have 2/3/4/5/6 strength (instead of 1/2/3/4/5).

Dangerous Suitors now cost 6 mana (instead of 7) and has 4/5/6/8/10 strength (instead of 5/7/7/10/10).



IRONCLAD
Unstable Build now has 5/6/7/8/9 strength (instead of 4/5/6/7/8), which essentially grants it an extra turn at levels 1, 3 and 5 (provided it does not receive other damage).

Fortification Tonic now costs 2 mana at every level (instead of 3 at level 1 to 3) and its ability now grants 2/3/4/5/6 strength (instead of 2/3/4/4/5).



WINTER
Underground Spring now has 4/5/7/8/10 strength (instead of 4/5/6/7/8), and its ability is 1/1-2/1-2/2/2 (instead of 1 at every level).
