[h2][/h2][p][/p][p]Okay, so if you are wondering why this big update exists, please read our previous post.[/p][p][/p][p]TLDR: I've wanted to bring the Steam version of Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders up-to-date for a while now, but given the size of our team (mostly me!), those changes have taken longer than expected.[/p][p][/p][p]But, that changes today! Version 2.0 is live and downloadable now. With it, you'll see improvements in many areas. And while these changes do not impact the story or the core gameplay, I do think they enhance the overall experience for different devices and screens (hello Steam Deck!). In other words: this is the latest and greatest![/p][p][/p][p]Here's a list of the major changes and improvements:[/p]

• [p]new UI/UX for the "Inventory Bar"[/p]
• [p]new drag-and-drop functionality when using/combining inventory items[/p]
• [p]new "Detective Vision" button which reveals on-screen hotspots[/p]
• [p]new auto-save system; triggered at key points in the game[/p]
• [p]new location markers on "Map" screen[/p]
• [p]improved UI for readability on smaller screens[/p]
• [p]hard drive space requirement reduced by ~50%[/p]
• [p]fixed some minor bugs[/p]
• [p]fixed a couple of typos[/p]
• [p]and many more small tweaks[/p]

In fact, it has long been my ambition to make this story and its characters as accessible as possible. I know it's been a while since our last announcement, but this one is a big one: Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders version 2.0 is coming in just a couple of weeks.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]So, I know what you're asking: "What the heck is in 2.0? And why did it take so long to release?"[/p][p][/p][p]For those of you who have followed the journey of this project since its Kickstarter origins, you may know that after the original release on Steam in English and Chinese, we ported the game to multiple platforms, including Nintendo and Xbox. Since then, the game was even translated to Korean for an exclusive release in that region.[/p][p][/p][p]This process took many years, and over time, we made small incremental updates and improvements along the way. Given the size of our team (mostly me!), those changes were never back-ported to the Steam version. Well, that changes soon![/p][p][/p][p]While these changes do not impact the story or the core gameplay, I do think they enhance the overall experience for different devices and screens (hello Steam Deck!). In other words, we think the current version is great, but this one is even better![/p][p][/p][p]So then, here are a few highlights of v2.0:[/p]
