Monthly Devlog #6

Hi, this is Scofa with the newest episode of the hit series "Dungeon Munchies Devlog".

This is the new boss we've been working on: Fruit Salad.
It's very nutritious and rich in dietary fiber, a fundamental part of the modern diet.
We used the most natural, organic, and environmentally-friendly means to create this boss. No chemical pesticides or herbicides were used during development.

With the new framework, we could finally use some proper tools to add content to the game.
While reviewing our older framework, we decided to overhaul something that we just kinda glossed over thought could have been implemented better: weapons.

Overhaul of Magic Weapons

Staff-type weapons will now be primary weapons and using them will expend Mana of some kind. The damage output of these weapons will also be increased.

What is Mana, you ask? It's a whole new system for magical weapons we added that, uh, does what you would expect it to do. Like in many other games, once the blue mana bar runs out, you won't be able to cast magic. You can use it slowly and carefully, or blow it all in one massive attack. To recharge mana, simply hold down the attack button to absorb all the magic that's in the air.

With a certain secondary weapon that passively recovers mana, the Staff of Explosions can do much more damage to this crop of pineapples.

We'll also have more foods dedicated to magic weapons so we hope players will incorporate them into their builds diets.

Scythe Overhaul

We've changed how the skeletons are summoned. Once equipped, nearby dead enemies turn into trapped spirits. Once the scythe is used to harvest them, they become our little helper skeletons.
Once you employ too many skeletons, additional harvested spirits are liquidated and distributed among your existing workforce, adding to their health and attack etc.

As with magical weapons, we'll be serving more foods that enhance summoning in the next chapter.

New Dishes

Many of the new dishes have been plagiarized from inspired by input from the community. Translations are tentative.

Grilled Corn on the Cob
Unleash a special attack when using Attack + Dash with a spear-type weapon.

Tomato & Beef Noodle Soup
Axe attacks give you a layer of lycopene. 30 layers let's you do this whirlwind attack:

Stir-fried Broccoli
Holding a fully-drawn bow for just a bit longer enables you to shoot an arrow that flies straight and ignores gravity.

Grandma's Fruit Preserves
Using Attack + Dash with daggers adds a "decomposition" effect to your enemies. The effect amplifies poison and bleed damage.

That's all we have for today. We'll continue adding fun dishes to the game.

Once again, if you're in the neighborhood next month, come check us out at Taipei Game Show (Feb. 6-Feb. 9) where we'll be showing some of the new content.

Thanks for reading!
