  • [p]Improvements to AI behaviour to both enemy and story characters.[/p]
  • [p]Various animation fixes and enhancements.[/p]
  • [p]Amendments and improvements to the game’s UI and inventory screens.[/p]
  • [p]Numerous texture improvements throughout.[/p]
  • [p]Fixes to lead tracking where required.[/p]
  • [p]Reduced character, weapon, item and AI clipping against environments.[/p]
  • [p]Kicks will now cause the expected flinch reaction on a successful hit.[/p]
  • [p]Improved dialogue timing and flow.[/p]
  • [p]Quest notifications will no longer appear repeatedly at the top left of the screen every time the game is unpaused.[/p]
  • [p]The Club, Mace, Police Truncheon, Cricket Bat, and Spiked Club will now generate blood VFX when striking enemies.[/p]
  • [p]Spore Mines are now correctly detected by Prescience or Attunement abilities before unfurling.[/p]
  • [p]Blood splatters are now correctly generated on enemies or bodies when hit or shot.[/p]
  • [p]Scrolling through a trader's inventory will now no longer incorrectly skip from item 1 to item 6.[/p]
  • [p]The map will no longer refresh unnecessarily when selecting a different region.[/p]
  • [p]The 'Unequip' option will now function as expected when selecting 'More Options' on the Torch, Metal Detector, or Signal Redirector.[/p]
[h2]Quest Specific Fixes:[/h2]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where ending cutscenes for Joyce Tanner and the Wicked Isle Poison Abbot Head would not trigger on PS4.[/p]
  • [p]The Exfil Camp will no longer become hostile while the "Escape with Captain Sims" objective is active.[/p]
  • [p]When received from Bill Anderson, the Lee No.4 can no longer be upgraded more than once in the player’s backpack.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where important items, such as the flask in Wicked Isle, could disappear if there wasn’t enough inventory space at the time of acquisition.[/p]
  • [p]The player can now progress as expected after dropping the offering given by Mother Jago for the Speaking Cave.[/p]
  • [p]After Bill Anderson drinks the flask and becomes Prior Ignatius, his name will no longer incorrectly display as “Bill Anderson” when highlighted.[/p]
[h2]Location Specific Fixes:[/h2][p][/p][h2]Slatten Dales[/h2]
  • [p]A torch can no longer be seen floating in the Slate Mine Caves.[/p]
[h2]Wyndham Village[/h2]
  • [p]Using the Decomposition skill on AI in the Village will no longer result in villagers becoming hostile.[/p]
  • [p]Villagers will no longer become hostile after the player kills Billy Gorse.[/p]
[h2]Casterfell Woods[/h2]
  • [p]An Atomic Battery is now no longer placed incorrectly within a wall in Casterfell Woods, preventing the High Priestess to walk through the wall to interact with it.[/p]
  • [p]A Storage Junction Box is now no longer missing in the data storage area of the Dam in Casterfell Woods.[/p]
[h2]Windscale Plant[/h2]
  • [p]Thrall will now follow the player as expected from the broken platform near the hammer plant in the control room of the Windscale Plant.[/p]
[h2]Midsummer Isle (Wicked Isle Story Expansion)[/h2]
  • [p]A fuel cannister is no longer misaligned and floating above the ground near a rack in the Flooded Cellar.[/p]
  • [p]Fire VFX is now present in the bonfire located in the camp at the crossing area to the Chemical Testing Bunker.[/p]
  • [p]The player will no longer fall through the map after boarding the boat on Midsummer Isle to return to Wyndham Village.[/p]
  • [p]The player can no longer kill a Feral through a closed glass door using a melee weapon in the Chemical Testing Bunker.[/p]
  • [p]Grove Druids will now approach the player as expected when entering the wooden tent after combat engagement near the rear entrance of the Abbey’s broken building.[/p]

The Red Strain

A secret research site built by B.A.R.D on the site of an old missile testing facility, it has been shrouded in mystery ever since it opened. But something changed when the quarantine came into effect. Now, the facility has fallen into more nefarious hands, and a deadly virus is seeping out from the secret network of underground labs and bunkers. Titled The Red Strain, this time War of the Worlds seems to be the British cultural touchstone developer Rebellion is riffing off, as the expansion sees you investigating a "highly confidential new location" infested by strange crimson vegetation...

Atomfall's second expansion, The Red Strain, unleashes its crimson tendrils next month

Dig your finest cricket bat out of the loft - Atomfall developers Rebellion have revealed its second story expansion is set to arrive in September. It's dubbed The Red Strain, and looks to star a not-Robobrain who's connected to a bunch of crimson plantlife filling the Cumberland quarantine zone.


This second DLC follows Wicked Isle, the first Atomfall expansion that you got automatically if you plumped for the deluxe edition of the radioactive pasty survivathon. I still need to go back and play that expansion, and this next add-on looks like an intriguing excuse to do so.
