Christmas Mode (Patch Notes 36)
[p]
[/p]
🎄Christmas Mode🎄
[p]Glistenveld is getting wintery as Christmas Mode is enabled (until Jan. 7th)! In Christmas Mode, you will experience the following changes to the game:[/p]![]()
[/p][p]The small stuff:[/p]
- [p] Atmosphere - The place is looking wintery with a change of colour palette and mist![/p]
- [p] Christmas Roots - Roots have now been decorated with Christmas lights! Unfortunately there are no blink patterns you can change...[/p]
- [p] Presents - Random presents will appear in each map, some buried in cave walls to be mined out, others in water to be fished for and some just laying around! Each contains one of six small random gifts![/p]
- [p] Chests - Chests are now decorated as 'locked' presents![/p]
- [p] Snowprints - All units will leave prints in the frosty dirt, giving you insight into their habits!
[/p]
- [p] Library Tech - Previously you could only 'research' tier 1 techs, and the other tiers all required paying schematics. Unlocking the Library tech and placing bookshelves allows you to research any tier, saving you a schematic for each! Each bookshelf (placed near a tech table) can store 1 research project. We designed this one both for the aesthetic choice of building a library and to add more strategy and flexibility to the tech tree. We have plans to add other uses for bookshelves as well in the future![/p]
- [p] Caverns Mode - New version with a wide array of aesthetic and generation improvements, including finding libraries in ruins now! And yes, you can utilise ruin libraries for higher tier research without requiring the above tech, if you can make the area safe for your engineers. Also includes a number of bug fixes. Note: To receive the new changes, you must start a new game.[/p]
- [p]Goblin Hoarders - Finally make an appearance in goblin camps. These little nuisances hide in barrels and throw stones at your dwarves when they're not watching![/p]
- [p]New Group UI - With multiple units selected, a new button panel appears on the right allowing you to issue commands to the whole group: rest, eat, battle and hold. This also includes some formation controls that for example allow you to set warriors in front or wounded to the back when moving the group.[/p]
- [p] AI Behaviour - Various improvements but most notably: allies will no longer mine into your territory, or clear out stalagmites just because they're there.[/p]
- [p] Building Tooltips - When hovering over buildings belonging to other teams, the tooltip will now reveal which clan that building belongs to. [/p]
- [p]UI Refurbishments - The Objective list in the top-right and minimap now look a bit different with new UI textures, as well as dialog history and some others.[/p]
- [p] Various other fixes & improvements, including control groups now showing at the top how many of the group are selected. [/p]
