Her Lie I Tried To Believe News

Extended Edition Released, Updated Soundtrack, And Small Update To The Original
Extended Edition Released
The extended edition of Her Lie I Tried To Believe has just been released on steam! If you’re interested, please take a moment to check it out. Here’s the list of things that have been added:
 • 2 abrupt endings
 • 2 small variations to the original ending
 • 1 true ending
 • 10+ new CGs
 • 6 new locations
 • More than double the number of words (22k VS. 47k)
 • 4 new original pieces of music
 • 2 new characters

As a side note, at first I was planning to add nudity to the game since nudity fits with the game mature setting pretty well, in my opinion, but with steam vague guidelines on sexual content I realized the value it added just wasn’t worth it. Since Cassandra is younger in the first chapter (flashback), and steam is very strict toward what they consider ‘minors’ in visual novels, I didn’t want to take the chance to get the game banned (even though sex only occurs later in the game when Cassandra is obviously 21). So I just wanted to take a moment to apologize to those of you who might have expected nudity (or any other form of sexual content) in the extended edition.
Updated Soundtrack
Four pieces of music have been added to the original soundtrack, so if you don’t already own it, you might consider looking into it. I’m personally a real sucker for those new tracks.

The soundtrack can also be bought in conjunction with the extended edition for 15% off.
Small Update To The Original Version
Lastly, I updated the original version with two-ish new CGs, and I also added a background for the club (which didn’t have a background until now). It’s really nothing much, but I might as well mention it while I’m at it.

I’m very thankful to everyone who’s been supporting me up until now. Obviously, I would have loved to release the extended edition for free, but unfortunately (or fortunately?) I need money to produce more projects. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to release free projects in the not-so-distant future.

Anyway, I’m grateful, is what I wanna say.

Thank you.

Script Overhaul, New Game Released, And Plans For An Extended Edition Of HLITTB
Script Overhaul
First, this is something I’ve been itching to do for a long time since there always has been quite a few flaws with the script of Her Lie I Tried To Believe. So, I’ve rewritten a lot of sentences that were really awkward, while trying to keep the style of the story intact. I’ve also hired someone to proofread it. I’m fairly satisfied with the end result, though there will probably always be some imperfections in the text.

Anyway, the update should be live now…so better late than never I guess.
New Game Released
The second thing I want to talk about is that I’ve just released my new game on steam, and I would be overjoyed if some of you would take the time to check it out. It’s not really in the same style as Her Lie I Tried To Believe…a lot more ‘vanilla,’ I would say…but still, your support would be appreciated, and it would help me create new games in the future.
The game can be found here.

Which brings us to the last point.
Extended Edition Of Her Lie I Tried To Believe
I’ve been on the fence over this for quite a while now. There are some things in Her Lie I Tried To Believe that I’ve kept ambiguous, and for good reasons. I like when people find their own truth, and interpret things their own way. So I really wasn’t sure if it would be worth it to reveal those things. But while working on the script for the extended version, I realized that it would be a shame to keep things as they are now. I’m a bit scared that fans won’t like it…but at the same time, it’s been almost two years since the game has been out, a few people did ask me for an alternative ending, and since I’m satisfied with the new ending…I said to myself, why not?

So the new content will most likely come in the form of a new separated game (extended edition). At first I wanted to release it as a DLC (since I will probably keep the style of the game as is), but since I don’t want anything to happen to the current version of the game (you never know what can happen when dealing with steam), I won’t take any chance. It won’t be free, but shouldn’t be very expensive. It will roughly double the number of words of the actual script (23~k words up to 45~k words) will add two small endings as well as a ‘true’ one, and will introduce two new characters. If possible, I’ll try to add a few new CGs to the current free version, but it will all depend on the budget. That’s why, if you really want to support me, checking out the new game that I just now released or simply buying the soundtrack of Her Lie I Tried To Believe would help me greatly. I still plan on releasing the extended edition no matter what happens, but it might take more time than anticipated the more my budget is constrained.
