Large Infrastructure Server Update

[h3]DETAILS[/h3]This coming Wednesday, February 28th, the platform team will be taking the multiplayer servers down for a large infrastructure update. Please note:

Ranked matchmaking will disabled exactly one hour before the maintenance window to prevent disruption to newly-formed matches.

Any matches still in progress at the start of the maintenance window will be disrupted when it begins.

DURING THE MAINTENANCE WINDOW, YOU WILL STILL BE ABLE TO LAUNCH THE GAME, BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MATCHMAKE OR ACCESS ANY ONLINE FEATURES.

To prevent any interruptions, we recommend wrapping up any games at least 10 minutes before the maintenance window. The downtime is expected to last 6 hours. You can watch this thread with any changes to the schedule as they arise, as well as the all-clear when the maintenance is complete.

A quarter century after its release, Age of Empires 2 is still getting DLC

Ensemble's Age of Empires 2 released in 1999, and I know of at least one person who thinks gaming never got better than this. They're clearly not alone, either, as this game has proven to have an enormously long tail and, after being supported by the community for most of its existence, got the full-fat remaster treatment it deserved with 2019's Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (developed by Forgotten Worlds under the aegis of the AoE-focused World's Edge studio)...

Age of Empires 2 DLC Victors and Vanquished is a massive scenario pack

One of the oldest and best strategy games on PC that still boasts a thriving community, as Age of Empires 2 is set to get a new expansion for its remastered AoE 2 Definitive Edition very soon that will offer you a whopping 19 new story-driven single-player scenarios. The 2019 reimagining of the 1999 classic continues to go from strength to strength, and new Age of Empires 2 DLC Victors and Vanquished promises an offering "like no other we've made before," according to creator Ramsey Abdulrahim of developer World's Edge.
