Survey, Roadmap, and official PvP wipe
Survey
With the successful CryoFall release on Steam, we've received a tremendous amount of players' feedback in various areas of the game! Based on that we've prepared a formal survey that will help us better put it all together and define where we want to take the game in the future.

We want to make sure that we understand what's most important from the players' perspective so we can assign priorities and deliver the most requested improvements first.

Please follow this link to participate in the survey:
https://... Thank you very much, everyone! The survey is now closed. It really helped us have a clearer picture of what people think about certain aspects of the game and the future the game will take!

The survey should only take a few minutes to complete. We are using Google Forms, so please note that you need to have a Google account as this is the only way we can ensure that the form will not be spammed and we will have valid replies.
Roadmap
We've updated the public roadmap to include our short-term plans and expand the number of ideas that we're considering to include in the future updates. Please vote for features that you wish to see the most!
Official PvP servers wipe
As you may know, all official PvP servers have regular wipes to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings a lot of players to compete with each other, starting from a common point.

We would like to remind you that all the official PvP servers have a scheduled wipe this week—Thursday, May 27th. Usually, the wipe happens on Fridays, but this time we know a lot of players are eagerly awaiting this wipe, so it will happen one day earlier!

Additionally, official PvP servers' wipe interval will be changed to every 3 weeks (previously it was 4 weeks). With this wipe, we will also deploy experimental rebalancing changes through server rates adjustment to make it a more balanced experience where you don't need to spend as much time gathering resources to craft your equipment and build sturdy walls while also reducing the risk of getting raided by bombs (their damage will be decreased though it will be easier to craft them due to higher resource rates). These changes will provide more dynamic gameplay.

Wipe time: 1 PM by GMT/UTC time (as usual).
For your convenience, here is the local time in the primary time zones we have:
• 8 AM by Central US (CDT, GMT-5 summer time)
• 3 PM by Central EU (CET, GMT+2 summer time)
• 16:00 by Russia/Moscow (GMT+3)
• 21:00 by China/Beijing (GMT+8)
• 10 AM by Argentina/Brazil (GMT-3)
• 10 PM by Japan and South Korea (GMT+9)

Important note: Official Asia 1 PvP and Asia 2 PvP servers will be united after the wipe in favor of a single Asia PvP server. This way we expect a larger population on a single server in this region which should offer a more exciting experience rather than having two servers with smaller populations on each. Also, we're happy to announce that we have deployed a new Anti-DDoS solution and expect that Asia servers can withstand any attacks smoothly.
CryoSmall & CryoFive wipe
As an additional note, a popular PvP community server CryoFive NA wiped last Saturday.
CryoSmall NA and CryoFive Europe will have a wipe this Saturday (29th May, 12 PM GMT/UTC). These featured community PvP servers offer the most balanced experience for PvP players. With a strict limit of 2 (CryoSmall) or 5 (CryoFive) players per team (no alliances permitted) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. Join CryoSmall Discord to read further details!

That's it for now! See you in the game!

R30 Patch #1

=== CryoFall v1.30.6.8 (R30 Patch #1) ===

Patch notes:

Local server changes:
— x2 crafting speed by default
— x2 faster growth speed for vegetables by default
— The bosses and other world events will start running much earlier after the server launch
— Disabled automatic despawn of offline player character and vehicles

Please note that the local server settings and rates can be adjusted by editing the ServerRates.config file located in this folder: "\AtomicTorchStudio\CryoFall\" (stop the local server first)

Other changes:
— Implemented dynamic growth rate scaling system for trees, bushes, herbs, and other vegetation (except farm plants) to make them grow up to x2 faster depending on the online players number on the server. It will reduce the shortage of wood and herbs, and also fix the major shortage of rubber trees on highly populated PvP servers
— Wild rubber trees growth rate increased x1.5 (doesn't apply to trees planted inside the land claims)
— Greatly improved respawn of Rustshroom (an orange mushroom). Previously it spawned in a relatively low amount as it was significantly displaced by Penny bun mushroom spawn
— PvE: offline player characters located outside their owned base will be despawned in 1 hour instead of 4 hours. The same applies to their vehicles
— PvE: offline player characters standing on the land claim that they don't own will be despawned in 10 minutes. The same applies to their vehicles
— The game will stop nagging you with "Press [Enter] to start using chat"—it will disappear after a minute, but please note that you can just press Enter and select that you don't wish to use the chat (this is a persistent setting per server)

Fixes:
— Random crash related to the network library when browsing the servers list

If you're hosting a community server it's recommended to install this patch.

Singleplayer / Local server

The information below is no longer valid as starting with R31 "Singleplayer Update" the local server is seamlessly integrated into the game client. Other players can also connect to you over LAN (new tab in Multiplayer menu) and even over the internet with virtual LAN (with software such as Hamachi).
Please read the announcement:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/829590/view/2987567056728476348

Local server is currently provided as an experimental feature. We've received plenty of players' feedback that it works rock-stable already!

The server rates are customized to make it more fitting for a single-player experience: no structure decay, bosses require only a single player to defeat (you can adjust all these rates by editing ServerRates.config file), 60 FPS tick rate, x2 LP, x2 skill XP, x1.5 item gathering.

Running the local game server will require only an extra 1 GB of free RAM and several % of a typical CPU's resources.

Please note: this feature is not available for demo players as the demo version can be played only on the official and featured community servers.
How to launch and use the local server
• 1. Navigate to the game folder (open Steam Client, right-click on CryoFall -> "Manage" -> "Browse local files")
 • 2. Double click on the "CryoFall Local Server" file. The console window for the local server will open and the server will start loading. Usually, it takes roughly a minute before the server is accessible (do not worry if it doesn't stop writing various information into the console—it's running properly and reports performance metrics). You may need to approve its access in Firewall if such a prompt will be displayed
 • 3. Launch the game client as usual
 • 4. Navigate to the "SERVERS" menu and open the "Custom" tab on the right side of the tabs bar (it has a distinctive "+" icon)
 • 5. Connect to the "localhost" server (the first one in the list; it may take 1-2 minutes before it's accessible)
 • 6. After you've finished playing, simply close the console window of the game server and it should automatically stop and save your progress (it also performs an autosave every hour same as multiplayer servers)
Extra information
The save game and the server rates configuration file are stored in this folder:
/AtomicTorchStudio/CryoFall/

If you cannot find AtomicTorchStudio folder in your Documents, please copy-paste this path into Windows Explorer's address bar:
%LocalAppData%/AtomicTorchStudio/CryoFall/

If you want to reset your local server, just stop it and delete the Saves folder.

Out of Early Access

This is a big moment for the development team! As we are celebrating this milestone, we also know there is a long way ahead with making CryoFall an even better game. We're grateful to our Early Access players, publisher, translators, additional contributors, open source maintainers, our families and friends, and many other people that have given us their help and showed patience to allow us to bring the game to this milestone. Thank you, guys!

The game has been in active development since late 2015—yes, roughly five years, two of which in Steam Early Access. We started from scratch by writing a custom game engine, and over the years we've added everything we wanted to see in the release version and ensured that the game offers a smooth experience with no bugs or other issues. We are proud to present the current iteration of the game for public view and the enjoyment of thousands of players!

Let's check some of the important things that you need to keep track of before proceeding to play the 1.0!
Version naming change
To avoid confusion with 1.0 numeration and our established naming scheme, the latest major update A30 (v0.30) is now renamed to R30 (v1.30). Every future major update will follow this scheme—e.g. R31, R32, and, hopefully, so on!
Demo version
Same as before, we will continue to offer a free demo version of the game, which is actually a full version of the game that you can play for 8 hours on any of the official servers. So, if you (or your friends) are considering whether to take the plunge and purchase CryoFall—hesitate no longer! Simply try the demo and judge for yourself if CryoFall is the game for you!

We will also reset the demo timer with the v1.0 release giving players that have already tried the demo extra time to evaluate the game.
Future development
The release of version 1.0 doesn't mean we will stop here. It's a major milestone that we will follow up with future improvements to expand the world, bringing in more content and features. This is the most exciting time in development, as the game will have more players than ever, providing their feedback and helping us to shape the future of the game!

We're planning to provide a detailed roadmap soon after the release hype is over and we can take a good breath.
PvP servers
As promised, official PvP servers were wiped today to offer a fresh economy and ensure a level playing field for everyone. The future schedule will follow our standard for official PvP servers with a four-week wipe cycle.

With the v1.0 release, we've considered launching an official PvP server in North America, however, there is something better now! You will be delighted to know that a new featured community server CryoFive North America has just opened. It offers the most balanced experience for PvP players in this region! With a strict limit of 5 players per team (no alliances) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that this server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. Please also look for featured CryoSmall and CryoFive servers located in Europe if you're looking for a similar experience—they will have a wipe this and the next weekend and many players will rush there to try their skills!
PvE servers
We've launched a new official PvE server: Official UK PvE. We will launch more servers to expand the capacity if necessary.

There will be no wipe on the official PvE servers for at least the next six months after v1.0 releases. We recognize that a portion of PvE players doesn't enjoy the usual session-based approach to server operation (e.g. server wipes), so we will do our absolute best to keep and transfer their progress into future updates without server resets. However, as you know CryoFall is not an MMO with permanent characters but a session-based game with a multitude of independent servers, so no individual server can be permanent. Continued future development means that eventually there may be a need to reset the world to introduce new features and changes to the world map. On the other hand, if you are playing on a private server you are not affected by this, as you can decide when you would like to reset the world (if at all). We will also continue to offer legacy versions of the game for those who would like to use them.

Steam Release (1.0)

As promised, we've got a lot of details for you about this upcoming release of CryoFall and many topics to cover, so without further ado let's dive in!
Out of Steam Early Access!
CryoFall is going to leave Steam Early Access this month, on April 29th.
Future development
This is the most exciting time in development, as the game will have more players than ever, providing their feedback and helping us to shape the future of the game!
Official servers
To support the larger number of players we're expecting after launch, we're going to deploy more official servers to expand our capacity and cover even more regions than before.

Additionally, official PvP servers will be wiped on April 29th to offer a fresh economy and ensure a level playing field for everyone. They will then follow our usual four-week wipe cycle (no changes here).

There will be no wipe on the official PvE servers with 1.0 launch and for at least the next six months after v1.0 releases. We recognize that a portion of PvE players don't enjoy the usual session-based approach to server operation (e.g. server wipes), so we will do our absolute best to keep and transfer their progress into future updates without server resets. We will also continue to offer legacy versions of the game for those who would like to use them.
Massive promotions
Together with our publisher Daedalic Entertainment, we are planning to run a number of massive promotions for the release date. This includes press releases, interviews, and invitations for influencers, YouTubers, and streamers to review the game and share it with new audiences.

Hopefully, this marketing push will bring a lot of new people into the game and fill up all the featured servers with new and exciting player interactions! Either way, we are going to do our best to make this launch a massive success. Please give us your support—invite your friends to try the game, and share this information on social media. See you on April 29th!
Thank you and see you in the game!
