Warlock HC 'Self Reliant' run - Recorded Livestream

This is a recorded Livestream where I played my own game (Star Valor) and showed a bit of a new Ranger ship, the Warlock, in a Self Reliant Hardcore run.

Patch - 2.0.7d

  • Added ship: Enforcer, tier 3 Independent Destroyer, size 4 (Frigate).
  • Added ship: Warlock, tier 3 Independent Ranger, size 2 (Yacht).
  • Added buff icons for active drones.
  • Active drones now auto deploy after being destroyed.
  • Changed inventory sorting to show equipment by size class first, followed by item level, then rarity.
  • Changed base ship enhancement slots to 3 instead of being equal to the ship's Tier (rarity).
  • Tacticians will no longer learn 'Acceleration' and 'Energy Generation' bonus effect for fleet ships.
  • Removed background from the Left Panel UI.
  • 'Join the War' quest now only triggers when you reach Friendly with CoT or the Venghi.
  • Fixed missile 'auto targeting' only working on main barrel.
  • Fixed Carrier repair queue BUG.
  • Fixed 'Guardian Angel' being acquired for saving player fleet members.
  • Fixed co-pilot efficiency on Venghi ships size 4+.

Patch - 2.0.7b (Updated Mar 27)

  • Drones now benefit from the ship's bonus damage, including character perks if it's your own ship. Note: This doesn't include skills like 'Weaponry'.
    This means bonus damage from crew, ship enhancements or battle computers now benefit both your weapons and your drone weapons (or repair beams), but it also means enemy drones can potentially cause more damage in higher levels.
  • 'Lone Wolf' and 'White Collar' now grant 3 starting points instead of 2.
  • 'Deep Pocket' now grants 1 starting point.
  • 'Self Reliant' now grants 2 starting points instead of 1.
  • 'Battleship Raid' now costs 1 starting point instead of 2.
  • 'The Perfect Predator' now costs 2 starting points instead of 3.
  • Fixed Repair drones Mk.2 costing -4 energy instead of 4.
  • Added 'Attack Drone Bay Mk.IV' which uses a Heavy Laser and requires 3 spaces.
  • Drone bays now add 1 extra cargo space for Drone Parts, each. This way your ships will never run out of cargo space for drones.
  • AI ships now only use drones after level 12, instead of level 6.
  • Added +2 starting points to Hardcore mode, +1 to Permanent Death and +5 for Relaxed Mode.
  • Added 'repair drone' and 'attack drone' blueprints for Self Reliant starts.
  • Added an additional Large Gyroscope when starting with a Cruiser or Dreadnought. Dreadnoughts now start with a capital impulse drive instead of a Heavy Mk 2. Additional reactors were also added to support the new gear.
  • Fixed trading bonuses allowing for infinite money gains.
  • Fixed 'Latheos, The Mad Engineer' explosion radius bonus showing up on beam weapon tooltips.
  • Fixed armor penetration being less effective against 400+ armor than intended.
  • 'Armor piercing' modifier now reduces damage by 6.5% instead of 7%, per instance.
  • Added diminishing returns to 'sensor amplifier' stacking.
  • Replaced 'Tactician' seat on the Scourge with 'Staff'.

[h3]Follow up fixes (2.0.7c)[/h3]
  • Ship hangars now focus on repairing 1 ship at a time instead of dividing between all of them.
  • Increased supervisor 'hangar repair bonus' base value from 5 HP/s to 8 HP/s.
  • Fixed drone bays not adding extra cargo space for drone parts, when stacked.
  • Fixed repair drones not getting all damage bonuses from the ship.
  • Fixed fleet ships not canceling a docking order after emergency warping, preventing other ships to dock for repairs.

[h3]Now, patch notes:[/h3]

  • The New Game Setup now uses a proper points system to determine your starting perks, ship and crewman. Similar to the old "starting spaceship class" value, perks will add or deduct from your starting points, which needs to be at least 0 before you can start the game. Special crewman costs 2 points and ships cost one point for each Tier above white, plus another one for each size class above shuttle. Example: A Mi'Iaoshu costs 3 points (Tier 4 = 3 points, shuttle = 0 points). Most perks had their points/cost modified or added.
  • Added special crewman: Redfiery, Mira, Maxter, Bancheis, Latheos and Typlo.



  • Added weapon modifier that causes more or less damage based in the distance to the target (name pending).
  • Added 'auto targeting' modifier to missiles, available when crafting. Pulson missile launcher and Peacemaker received this modifier.
  • Added Drone modifiers which can be found as crew (tactician) bonuses, ship enhancements and perks. Current modifiers are: damage, speed, hull points, auto targeting, drone parts dropping when destroyed and AOE explosion when destroyed.
  • Drone tooltip now shows its stats modified by the current ship bonuses.



  • Added equipment: Drone Enhancer: Detonator, Drone Enhancer: Targeting and Drone Enhancer: Utility.



  • Trade Goods now always stack and no longer save the station where it was bought. The price paid is averaged when stacks merge, with the base price being used in case the item wasn't purchased. Market prices no longer change according to stock. This is in preparation for the Economy Update, coming in version 2.1.0, where prices will be determined by the distance to distribution centers (factories, etc).
  • AI ships in repair mode now also use drones to repair allies.
  • Improved Steam Authentication process when starting the game.
  • Increased chance to gain a gear charge to 20% from 15% with Scavenger's Wit (Ranger ship bonus).
  • A few sound effects were tuned down or changed to be more subtle.
  • Fleet ships now try to respect the distance value set in the fleet panel when chasing enemies or repairing friendlies. When they get too far from your ship, they will head back without acquiring new targets on the way, then revert to normal mode when near the player.
  • AI ships no longer play a beep sound when using activated equipment (drones, auto-repair, refineries, etc).
  • Fixed gunners aiming with timed fused weapons.
  • Fixed BUG that instantiated multiple drone objects in the background, possibly causing issues.
  • Fixed explosions pushing drones away.
  • Fixed CoT ships built-in Terran Mantle showing energy storage bonus.
  • Fixed Fleet ships in repair mode not repairing other fleet members.
  • Fixed permadeath save files being deleted when not intended.

  • Gunners will now try to focus on your target when you use 'Order Fire' action (default: F)

Complete update of Russian localization

Hi all!
The Russian version of the game needed an update for a long time, but now the game has finally been translated again - thanks to Roman "Scarab-Phoenix" Matsyuk, who has completely reworked the Russian localization. There are still some elements in the game that cannot be translated for technical reasons, but I will fix it soon. In the meantime, please report any problems you find.
