The Ultimate Battle: CBL Global Finals is Here!

Greetings warlords!
Massive congratulations to YB, champion of the Western Conference, and JX, champion of the Eastern Conference!

This Saturday, CB's first global match will be held, and we are thrilled to witness this exciting moment. As you know, CB is now working on forming a global community, and this match is also an opportunity for you to meet players from all over the world.

This is not only a global match but also a friendship match. Therefore, we’re bringing some new changes:

  • The teams will still compete in a BO5 format.

  • The following popular maps, which have been frequently selected, will be banned on both sides: Hidden City, Wall Fort, Harbour City, and White Elk Fort. (A new challenge for our outstanding teams, huh?)

There are also some technical issues like ping differences. This is because the distance between Europe and Asia is really far, so ping issues objectively exist. However, we will try our best to provide a better battle experience for all warlords. We have prepared a new tournament server that will offer nearly identical ping for both sides, ensuring that the two teams can participate in the competition fairly and smoothly. Nonetheless, the slogan of this global match should always be 'Friendship first, competition second’.

Stay tuned on Saturday and follow our streams here: https://www.twitch.tv/conquerorsbladedevs
We will share the exciting matches with you in real-time on that day!

Lion of the North | Aurora's Glory & Northern Lion Attire Showcase

When Gustavus Adolphus landed in northern Germany with his army, intervening in the long-running Thirty Years' War, the Free Imperial Cities regarded him with skepticism. How could these barbarians from a distant winter, who couldn't even equip their cavalry with proper armor, defeat the Imperial army under the Habsburg banner?
Aurora's Glory Design Notes
It was not until after the Battle of Breitenfeld that the independent city-states within the Holy Roman Empire realized the profound transformation that had taken place within the northern reinforcements. They began to rally around this king, even as his enemies began to learn from him..

  • Rumor had it that the new King of the North was an eccentric man. He disliked royal etiquette and rarely attended high-society gatherings. Instead, he preferred to spend his time in workshops with engineers and mathematicians, discussing obscure theories that would make ordinary people's eyelids droop after a few sentences. Court attendants even attested to seeing the king disguised as an officer, sneaking into other countries to inspect their armies and arsenals, often putting himself in danger. Yet, he reveled in it. He was more like a general or a ranger than a king. However, only those closest to him knew that the king had long foreseen the dark clouds gathering over the Western world. A great war was coming, and as king, only by surpassing the times could he make the name of the Northern Kingdom resound throughout the world.

  • Primarily inspired by the attire of musketeers and military nobility during the Thirty Years' War. The female attire is based on the sword training garb of Queen Christina, Gustavus' daughter, while the male attire references historical depictions of Gustavus himself.
Northern Lion Attire Design Notes
As Gustavus Adolphus arrived at Lützen under a shroud of fog, Generalissimo Wallenstein and his 20,000 elite troops awaited. The King, eager to crush them before Imperial reinforcements arrived, charged into the thick fog with his royal guard...

  • Brigands, massacres, plunder, blood...
  • In the dark years of war, a hopeless night enveloped all, as if hell had returned to earth. People, numb and driven mad, slaughtered each other. It was then that the roar of the "Lion of the North" tore through the heavy darkness. His cannons drove back the demons disguised as men, his sharp blade severing their ignorance.
  • People remembered the prophecy: "The northern star heralds the arrival of the lion, who will bring light back to the world." The king, from then on, was seen as a symbol of transcendence. All believed that the king, clad in the symbol of the morning star, forever charging at the forefront of his army, would lead the world out of the darkness, through the fog, and towards the future of their dreams.

  • Based on Gustavus' image at the Battle of Lützen, emphasizing his title of "Warrior King."
  • The cape on his back bears the imagery of the morning star, alluding to the prophecy of astrologers that Gustavus, as the Lion of the North, would become the savior of the West.
  • The lion-shaped helmet emphasizes his title, "Lion of the North."

The fires of war intensify.
Witness the revolution in warfare on September 19th.

One CB, One World

Greetings Warlords,

We have been working on forming a global community over the past couple of months, with some important steps taken already. we have taken more and more steps to unify the CB experience for players around the globe.
Today we have some very important announcements that affect a large part of our fantastic community, that we think will spark a lot of joy amongst you! These will take effect when the new season starts on the 19th of September 2024. Please read the following carefully.
One CB, One World
Our aim with this move is to tie our community much closer together and empower you to truly participate in our global ecosystem. We want you to feel a greater sense of belonging, of cameraderie and healthy competition. To that end we have planned a lot of improvements to how we are running CB moving forward:

  • Global Community Events with cross-server competition

  • Global matchmaking for special events

  • Cross server friending and teaming: make friends and enemies globally

  • Easily create characters on ANY server through Steam (no more IP block)

  • Unified global website and store

Our ultimate goal here is to build a world where everyone can connect with everyone, no matter which server you are a part of. As you can see above we have a lot planned with the start of the new season and our global community unification, which will be packed with fun events that emphasize the global nature of our game. And in the future we even want you to participate in cross-continental Territory Wars!
This is an extension of our unification efforts that we implemented last month and each of these points will get more details The previous update balanced the in-game economy and shop, to get rid of different items and sovereign pricing. Now everyone's values are the same, no matter which server you joined, and best of all we reduced prices of a majority of shop items to enable more players to enjoy benefits.
In this step we also introduced our new approach to monetization, where we focus more on vanity and skins, rather than progression in the game. We hope this eases new players into the game reduces some of the friction that CB has had to game progression in the past. This new system was introduced in the first iteration as a luxury commodity and we understand that more players want to participate in such systems in the future. Thankfully, this iteration was successful and will enable us to more broadly develop in this direction. We got a lot of feedback from you about what you'd like to see in the next iteration and we hope you will like it!
Unified Presence
With the beginning of the next season and in our quest to build a truly global community, we will implement the following changes :
  1. Steam merge: We will merge our western Steam page (ex MyGames) into our original Poros Steam page (CB: Frontier), now simply called "Conqueror's Blade". The current situation of having two different Steam pages is a vestige of our old publishing relationship with MyGames. Since we are publishing the game now globally ourselves, having a fractured Steam presence is a hinderence and can actually be confusing to new players as well. So we decided that we are going to change that moving forward and only have one Steam page globally to emphasize the global nature of CB.

  1. New launcher:For those of you do not use steam, we will combine two different versions of official launcher. In other words, starting from the new season, the Launcher will also be unified into one. However, we will try our best to lighten your burden. You won't need to re-download the launcher. The old launcher will auto-upgrade to the new version! Let me also reveal to you that the new Launcher has a completely new upgrade and design, and everyone only needs to download the client.

  1. Unified website:We will merge the two webistes into one CB global website and remove all IP block restrictions. So we have a unified hub to look for information and also the same webshop.

Once the merge is completed, all players on those servers are required to download the game again, as required by Steam. While we can't change that, we are currently working with Steam to reduce the download burden as much as possible.

All in all, EVERY player on every server, is now allowed to freely create new characters on EVERY other server. Yay! We know quite a few players are doing this already, so this change is going to make that MUCH easier for you in the future. Now you can prove that your house is definitely better at CB than the noobs in the other regions ;). Which servers are you going to haunt first and what is your battle cry?
We are also working on possible ways for you to transfer your current characters to other servers. However, this won't be part of the new season's start yet and we will come back to this once we have more to share.

Stay tuned to the upcoming announcements related to our in-game and community events during the Unification celebration. A livestream with the developers will be held on September 14th. You will be first to revel in more details about our roadmap, the new season and first-hand information about the upcoming changes.

Yours, The CB Dev Team

A vast world, but every inch matters| Territory War Adjustment Plan

Greetings Warlords,

The theme of the coming new season is [Gustav II Adolf], the father of modern warfare. We hope to emulate Gustavus Adolf and bring about true change and reform in CB.

As CB moves towards global operations, we also hope to bring a better CB world to warlords. We promise all warlords that there will be adjustments to the rules of TW with each new season, new events will be introduced every season; and a new weapon will be added every year, etc. This belief of [taking action] will be carried through every update of CB. In summary, our four major guidelines for innovation are:

  • Tactics: New heroes and units. A new weapon every year

  • Battlefield: New event maps for each season

  • War: Constant changes to TW rules every season

  • Situation: More global ecology and interconnected actions

As for war, which is related to the open world and territory war, it is one of the core gameplay elements of CB. From the initial The southern border and northern towns to the Conqueror's City in the Alexander season, countless warlords have been fighting in the open world. Every city, fort, and village in each region has witnessed numerous similar stories – They are the stories of all the warlords. For the reform of territory war, we hope that with each season's content updates and rule adjustments, warlords can have a different territory war experience:

  • Territory war Mechanism: We will try to introduce unique mechanisms related to the season's theme into the territory battlefields, bringing more variables to the course of the battle and allowing warlords to experience more interesting gameplay.

  • Open World Strategic Competition: We will work towards making the strategy more abundant and the competition deeper, building upon it season by season.

  • Seasonal Resource Rules: We will also adjust the basic content, such as the open world resource output, in line with each season's theme. By doing so, we aim to connect the open world with the seasons.

In fact, the reform of territory war needs to be very cautious, as every change in the rules has far-reaching consequences.

Therefore, as the first step in taking action, we will start by addressing some of the long-standing issues in territory war that have been troubling warlords. We will begin making some adjustments and tests from this week, and we hope that during the truce in open world, warlords can also help with testing and let's work together to improve the gameplay of open world.

  1.
Raise the requirement for opening and maintaining front (The following changes have already been implemented in the update maintenance on September 5)
• The number of players required to open a territory front

  • During the territory war, when interacting with the fief in open world to open a front, the attacking side needs to have a queue of players that meets the fief's requirement for front to open. If the attacking side does not meet the required number of players to open the front, all participating attacking players will enter the siege queue and wait for the front to open.

  • The number of players required to open a front is determined by the type of front, as follows:

    • Village, Field Camp, and Ruler's Flag: 1 attacking player can open the front

    • City and Fort: 5 attacking players can open the front

    • Region's capital, Gate of Conqueror's City, and Conqueror's City: 8 attacking players can open the front

  • Rules for the morale of the attacking side in territory war

  • After the front is opened, the attacking side will have a morale value, initially set at 100%. When the morale value reaches 0, the attacking side is considered defeated, and the defending side wins.

  • When the number of attacking players in a stage does not meet the requirements for opening a front, the morale value will decrease at a steady rate of 1% per second. When the attacking side has enough players, the morale value will stop decreasing and remain unchanged.

    • For example: In a battle for a city in open world, if there are only 3 attacking players left on the battlefield, the morale value of the attacking side will decrease according to the rules.

    • It should be noted that if there are no attacking warlords on the battlefield in a battle for a village in open world, the morale value of the attacking side will still decrease according to the rules.

  • Morale value will not recover during a single battle.

  1.
Reporting mechanism for "Slotblocking" in territory war
The "blocking front" in territory war has long been a issue for warlords. Some families have taken advantage of loopholes in the rules for opening and maintaining fronts to gain unfair advantages in territory war. We hereby clarify that "Slotblocking" is a serious violation of the rules in territory war.

On the basis of raising the front requirements, we will also introduce a reporting mechanism for warlords. We hope that all warlords will join us in supervising the healthy ecosystem of the entire territory war. In cases where there is solid evidence, we will impose strict penalties on individuals, families, and alliances that engage in "Slotblocking". We will soon launch specific reporting measures, channels, and evidence verification methods and announce them as soon as possible.

Of course, maintaining a healthy game ecosystem cannot be achieved solely through rules. It also requires the participation of all warlords in improving these rules. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to share them with us. We are very eager to communicate with you.
"Take action" is an important concept during the Gustav reform in CB. We encourage all warlords to speak their minds and participate actively. Let's work together to build the "best wargame in the world"!
