Unit Background
The Zealot is the most devout force under the Cross, and the guardian of the Empire's faith.
Clad in Milanese plate, wielding the sacred shield and the hammer of judgement, they form unbreakable ranks to defend the faith, purging heresy with punishing blows.
Each of them was once a faithful believer — their souls aflame with fervor, ever ready to sacrifice in this endless war.
Yet, years of battling darkness have stained them with madness.
When faced with endless waves of heretics, the Zealots' suppressed thirst for blood erupts.
They cast aside their shields, tear off the uniform of order, and become twin-hammered judges.
Now, the Hammer blazes with divine fire: each strike explodes in fury, unleashing righteous wrath on all enemies.

Unit Overview
The fanatical elite rapidly gain [Mad Malice] when striking lower-tier units or rival Heraldic units.
Normally, sturdy Milanese armor reduces incoming damage.
Transformed as Heretic Purgers, their weapons are imbued with black powder — every attack burns and explodes on impact.

Skill 1:
Dies iræ
Slam the sacred hammer into the earth to trigger a small shockwave; nearby targets are pulled off-balance toward the Zealot, then a flame‑laden upswing knocks them up.
Skill 2:
Saeclum in Favilla
Unleash an unstoppable flurry, hewing forward with the sacred hammer — each hit erupts in an explosion, searing all sin.

Trait 1:
Lawful Evil
Carnage on the field lays bare the Zealots' nature, increasing [Mad Malice]. Killing 3‑star‑and‑below units and other Heraldic units grants more [Mad Malice]. At max, transform into "Inquisitor".
Trait 2:
Milanese Armor
Smooth, shell-like armor deflects attacks and reduces damage taken; the asymmetric left pauldron is highly defensive, great for blocking and protection. Offers some fire resistance.
Trait 3:
Wrath of Grace
While transformed into "Inquisitors", they will forgo the shield, lowering block value, and anoint their weapon with black powder. Each strike burns the target and triggers a small blast — letting the "heretic" be purged by the holy flame of Grace.

Tactical Role
Zealots stand apart on the battlefield. In normal stance, they're reliable heavy infantry — thanks to fine Milanese plate and [Righteous Charge], they anchor formations and absorb damage.
Their true strength lies in gathering [Mad Malice] through combat, then unleashing Judgment Day for a form shift.
Transformed as Inquisitor, they shift from defensive anchors into unstoppable area attackers. Whether using the crowd-control might of [Dies iræ], or the explosive devastation of [Saeclum in Favilla], enemy ranks are torn asunder in moments.

Who is it that sings the song of battle upon the field, their greatsword cleaving open the enemy ranks?
Renowned for their splendid clothing and deadly swordplay, they are the fiercest and wildest tempest of destruction on the battlefield!



Unit Background
The Doppelsoldner are an elite infantry unit hailing from the ranks of mercenaries in the Holy Roman Empire during the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Named for the heavy two-handed swords they bore and the double wages they earned, these warriors fought on the very front lines, risking their lives for twice the pay of ordinary mercenaries.
Founded by Emperor Maximilian I to counter the famed Swiss mercenaries, the unit was composed primarily of seasoned veterans. Their weapon—the flamberge two-handed greatsword—measured up to 180 centimeters in length and weighed over 3.5 kilograms, specially crafted and carried wrapped in leather for protection.

It is said that these double-pay mercenaries wielded their immense swords to break through pike formations, particularly those of the Swiss. With mighty swings, they shattered spearheads or swept aside pikes, striking directly at the enemy and collapsing their ranks.

With a wealth of battle experience, they know how to counter any foe. Even the famed Swiss pike phalanx, feared by all, is but autumn wheat before their swords—felled with a single sweep.

Tactical Role
The Doppelsoldner are “Support Slasher” units. Though vulnerable in defense, their signature skill, Windmill, lets them unleash devastating area damage upon enemy infantry formations in an instant.
Their passive ability [Strong Resolve], grants superior efficiency when leading assaults, especially in siege situations. The [Double-Pay] trait allows them to endure longer in chaotic melees, restoring their strength with each enemy defeated.
