[Sengoku] Quality of Life Update Preview

With the June 1 update and the release of the new [Sengoku] season, we're improving what Honor is for, the tutorial and the character customization system. We've also made changes to improve the game's performance.
Honor Shop
We're adding a new Honor Shop, widening the use of Honor so that you've got more to spend all the Honor you gain on.

The Honor Shop unlocks at level 100. Inside, you'll be able to spend Honor on unit mastery items (has a weekly buy cap), a [Mace Sergeants] Token and doctrines exclusive to the unit (these have a total purchase cap).

We'll continue to update the stock available at the Honor Shop in the future too!
Performance Improvements
A new season is on the horizon, but our effort to improve game performance won't end here. Following our changes, the standard test computers we used (configuration below), saw an average increase of 10 FPS.
Benchmark Configuration:
Monitor: 1080P
CPU: Intel i7 7700K
GPU: GTX 1060 (6G)
RAM: 16G
DirectX 11

The performance changes contain the following:
 • New - Fullscreen Exclusive Mode

By playing on Fullscreen Exclusive (Settings - Graphics - Display Mode - Fullscreen Exclusive), you'll have an overall smoother experience.
 • Improved - Unit Overhead Info Loading & Display Logic

By splitting up the information load of heroes and units (HP bar, name, defense values, etc.), we've reduced the amount of information that loads at any one time. What's more, by improving the information of visible objects rendered in real-team, we've further reduced the resources the game takes up.
 • New - Option to Hide Dead Units

We've added an option to Hide Dead Units under Settings. The models of dead units will now be removed after a while to further reduce resource usage.

Improving performance is a long-term effort, and we'll continue to share with you all as we make further improvements.
New - Team Colors
Following feedback we've received regarding teams' unit colors, we've added the following color options to [Settings] - [Unit Color]:
[My Units - Crimson], [Enemy Units - Chestnut] & [Enemy Units - Raven]
Tutorial
Conqueror's Blade is a medieval action game that's difficult to master and caters toward a specific audience. It's been quite difficult for us to find a way in which to quickly help new players get accustomed. With the new season, players entering Conqueror's Blade for the first time will experience an all-new tutorial that'll hopefully enable them to learn the ropes quicker than ever.

We've made the following main changes to the tutorial:
All PvE stages are more focused on teaching the player about units, touching upon brace, damage types and back attacks.
We've also added a tutorial for each related action, making them an integral part of the stage itself.

We've also used tooltip boxes to touch upon other features, enabling newer players to come to terms with these faster.

We've also made a new unit for the tutorial, the [Mace Sergeants], and they have exclusive doctrines and Mastery available to them too. By guiding new players to focus on training this one unit, they'll better understand what makes up Conqueror's Blade's core.

Players who created a character before the start of the [Sengoku] season can purchase the Mace Sergeants Token and their doctrines from the [Honor Shop].
Character Customization
Our old character customization options have gone mostly unchanged since our launch. And so, we felt it was time to add some new options with this season. We've improved the detail for character faces, hair and added new face presets.

Characters created before the new season can speak to the Warden to receive a [Disguise Kit x1]. Naturally, none of our old customization options are going away, so you're free to use these if you prefer those.

(These are only part of the new options and may be subject to change)

Keep an eye out for our Season Update Log and future notices for more info! See you in the [Sengoku] season!

New Mode Preview: Latent Potential

Heya all your Warlords out there! Today we're bringing you more info on a new upcoming PvE mode that's coming in the update: Latent Potential.

The Latent Potential mode goes hand-in-hand with Unit Mastery. By completing the [Latent Potential] daily, you'll get the following items required to unlock mastery for units:
 • •[Uncommon Infantry Scroll of Mastery]
 • •[Rare Infantry Scroll of Mastery]
Latent Potential Rules

General Rules
You'll be taking with you your own units and equipment.

You earn extra units by killing enough enemy soldiers. As you kill more, you'll get access to units of a higher and higher tier.

You'll have an ally that will continuously dispatch soldiers to attack the enemy.

You cannot use either ranged units or cavalry in this mode.
Phase Rules & Victory
Once the battle has begun, you must work with your ally to break into and occupy the enemy's supply point. Phase one ends when you occupy the supply point.

If your soldiers get wounded, head to a supply point to heal them up or replace them with another unit.

During phase two, you must work to assault the enemy's stronghold and take down the enemy's officer if you're to win.
One way to achieve victory is to use high-burst units and simply focus down the enemy leader.
Defeat
The enemy will dispatch soldiers against us too, and you must prevent our ally's leader from falling. You'll suffer defeat should he fall.

Keep an eye on the timer too, as you'll suffer defeat if you fail to eliminate the enemy's leader within the allotted time.

While the [Latent Potential] map will be important to help you unlock and level up your units' mastery, it will also be a great place in which to test out new units and strategies!

[Sengoku: Blazing Katana] Units Preview

The [Sengoku: Blazing Katana] season launches on June 1st! Six new units will join the ranks with the new season! So, let's get to know these a bit more!
We've created 3 units to fit the theme of the [Sengoku] season. But that's not all, we've created another 3 units to fit the modes too! You'll be able to unlock them all in the new season!
Season Units
We've taken inspiration from Japan's Sengoku period, and some of these have joined the ranks of Conqueror's Blade. All you've got to do to unlock these is to complete their season challenges.
Right, so let's delve deeper into their stories and features!
Ronin (3 Stars)
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

During the Sengoku period in Japan, heroes arose among lords, with each lord housing an army of their own. During the battles, countless smaller forces were defeated.
Some of the surviving samurai decided to not pledge their allegiance to a new lord, instead choosing to become wandering warriors. Their life was their own, and they lived to hone their skills and help the weak. Yet, ceaseless war stripped them of all dignity, and they began pillaging and committing crimes. This continued until a man clad in crimson armor appeared—
Ever since, whenever bandits bullied the weak, a group of warriors dressed in simple garbs would appear. They were masters of martial arts, and of the blade, and struck with sudden and lethal attacks. They called themselves the Ronin and wander the land without a place to call home. Legend claims they also participate in more than a few wars.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1: Charges toward the designated location and leap attacks the first enemy they encounter.
•Skill 2: Strikes immediately after sheathing their blades, dealing high damage. Killing units with this skill reduces cooldowns.
•Blocks while attacking during free attack mode. Successful blocks boost the damage of the subsequent attack, stacking up to 6 times.
•Excels at charging into enemy formations that don't have any shield units, only to use several Iaido Strikes for tons of damage.
Onna-Musha (4 Stars)
Wielding long-handled arced blades, they excel at fighting smaller skirmishes and cavalry. Their special-made weapons are light and highly nimble and can be wielded by most any woman after a bit of training.
The Onna-Musha are more often than not relatives of samurai or nobles. They've undergone rigorous training from a young age and are deadly indeed. Being directly commanded by the daimyo, any who underestimated them would do so at the cost of their life.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1. Charges toward a designated location, attacking enemies and reducing their block.
•Skill 2: Sakura Onslaught triggers 6 attacks against nearby enemies.
•Charge and Sakura Onslaught disarms enemies for 0.8 seconds, rendering them unable to attack.
•All attacks deal piercing damage and brace. Deals 26% increased damage to cavalry. Damaging a cavalry unit also slows them by 60% for 2 seconds.
•Excels at charging into enemy formations that don't have any shield unit to take out light infantry and control heavy infantry. Fairs poorly against shielded units, so it's vital that you choose their battles well.
Orochi Samurai (5 Stars)
The Orochi Samurai were one of the Sanada clan's most elite warriors, each one personally selected and trained by the commander.
They excel in martial arts and can launch quick and deadly combination attacks. Few foes can face their onslaught and live to tell the tale.
While their telltale crimson armor provides effective defense, it also instills terror into their enemies. Well-trained and brave, they do not cover before charging cavalry, instead they lash out with deadly force.
Whenever their crimson banner was seen in battle, their enemies would flee in terror. For the few who had fought them and survived simply called them the Red Demons.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1: Double Strike at targets in the target direction (and grants control immunity). Deals high damage to cavalry.
•Skill 2: Sweep attacks all enemies in a large area.
•Automatically triggers brace while in formation.
•All attacks inflict disarm, rendering the enemy unable to attack for 0.8 seconds.
•Blocks while attacking during free attack mode. Successful blocks boost the damage of the subsequent attack, stacking up to 6 times.
•Deals 26% increased damage to cavalry. Damaging a cavalry unit also slows them by 60% for 2 seconds.
•Assault grants temporary crowd-control immunity, and is great for initiating battles and disarming the enemy. Then they rely on skill 2 and their passive to continue fighting.
•When used well, Assault counters many non-shield units, especially cavalry.
Non-Season Units

Naginata Monks (3 Stars)
Preordering the [Ronin] also unlocks the [Naginata Monks]. The Naginata Monks will also be available as mercenaries and can be unlocked for Sovereigns or Silver Coins.
Following years of war and chaos, many of the temples formed forces of their own to protect their faith. The most famous of these are the Naginata Monks.
Trained by both monks and samurai, their willpower and physique far exceed that of ordinary people. This intense training made them capable of wielding heavier weapons than others, weapons with which they could cut down horses and warriors alike. Armed also with their faith, they were known to never surrender.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1. Charges toward a designated location, attacking enemies and reducing their block.
•Skill 2: Running Strikes deal damage while running and their attacks have brace effect.
•All attacks deal piercing damage and brace effect. Deals 26% increased damage to cavalry. Damaging a cavalry unit also slows them by 60% for 2 seconds.
•Running Strikes deal continuous damage to enemies.
Mace Sergeants (3 Stars)
How to Unlock
This unit will be part of the tutorial, and new players unlock the [Mace Sergeants] by completing the initial quests. Players who have already completed the tutorial can unlock it for Honor.
The Mace Sergeants were a powerful order of knights during the middle ages. They were generally tasked with guarding the pope and the Church's interests, as well as defending against heretics and any would-be-invaders. Yet, with time, their influence grew and they soon gained both power and political influence.
Each member of the Mace Sergeants possesses outstanding fighting skills and a sense of honor. Wielding massive mauls, they draw close to enemies and crush bone and armor alike. But they have not forgotten their roots, and adhere to the code of chivalry to this day.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1: Rushes at the enemy and strikes with massive force.
•Skill 2: Meteor Strike excels at dealing with shield units.
•They deal high blunt damage and excel at taking out enemies with low-blunt defense.
•Use their skills at the most opportune moment to deal devastating damage to shield units.
Matchlock Ashigsaru (4 Stars)
How to Unlock
The Matchlock Ashigsaru can be unlocked for free via a community event. If you want these to join your ranks, follow us on social media, Join the community, and keep up to date with the latest info!

Matchlock Ashigsaru are a general category of firearms made on the island of Hinawaju. Manufacturing techniques and tactics developed rapidly during Japan's Warring States period. In the Battle of Nagashino, the great Oda Nobunaga used the Saika Ikki groups to organize squads of iron cannoneers.
The Matchlock Ashigsaru are experienced soldiers from the Hinawaju Ashigaru ranks. They are not samurai, but their performance on the battlefield puts them among the elites. Their deeds are celebrated in classical military texts. In the Battle of Nagashino, Yamagata Masakage, veteran general of the Takeda family died under a fusillade from Hinawaju iron cannons.
Unit Characteristics
•Skill 1: Fires volley after volley in a designated direction.
•Deals the most damage when working together with allies to set up conditions where they can fire at will.
