Eternal Unit Spotlight: Yanyuedao Cavalry (5-Star)

Three Seasonal Units inspired by legendary Ancient Chinese heroes are coming to Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal when the update arrives on February 23.

The third and final Unit is ready to be introduced: Yanyuedao Cavalry (5-Star).

"A colossus rises tall, casting a shadow over the valley beyond."
This is a Qian proverb meaning that men capable of great acts of war cast shadows so tall that all others are overshadowed. The Yanyuedao Cavalry, a force comprising only the elite of the elite, became one such colossus.

Wearing only the bare minimum of armor, these riders did all they could to ride as swiftly as the wind as they stormed through battle with their mighty glaives. Instead of a standard Cavalry charge, this Unit prefers to ‘charge up’ its slashing attacks, building momentum on horseback. Glaives deliver built-up strikes, delivering damage and armour penetration over a large area, dependent on how much charge was produced.

The bards of Qian would come to create songs and ballads in their honor for years and years to come.
Unit Characteristics
- A close-quarters focused cavalry unit without any charge skill.
- Causes a single instance of high area damage.
- Deals greater damage over an area the longer they charge up their attack.
- Do not charge and are therefore not stopped by musket fire or braces, enabling them to pass through the enemy's defenses to clear out musketeers.

- Skill [Mounting Dread]: Begins gathering momentum and damage.
- Skill [Dread Unleashed]: Attacks over a wide area.
- Skill [Rushing Blow]: Holds their glaives horizontally as they ride past the enemy's lines, slashing about as they do.

Stirrup some trouble and draft the Yanyuedao Cavalry by completing new Unit Challenges in Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal when they arrive later in the Season on March 27.

Eternal Unit Spotlight: Crescent Monks (4-Star)

Three Seasonal Units inspired by legendary Ancient Chinese heroes are coming to Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal when the update arrives on February 23.

Now it’s time to welcome the second Unit that will follow you into battle: Crescent Monks (4-Star)

Monks who break free from the teachings are either chaotic evil or chaotic good. Instead of acting based on creed, they seek inward, to their hearts. Such monks embark upon journeys and roam the lands due to a variety of reasons, be it training, poverty or disaster. Their crescent halberds were used as tools to overcome hardships but also as a weapon of war. This heavy armament appeared light in their hands as they brandished it with great ease, the perfect mixture of offense and defense.
To me, fighting for a brighter future is the one way in which I can find myself.
Unit Characteristics
- Close-combat warriors that take the fight to your enemy. They excel at dealing sustained damage against groups of enemies.
- While having low survivability due to their sparse armor, they are capable of crowd-controlling enemies and keeping them at bay with their staves or knocking them back with their skills.
- Their thrusting and sweeping attacks all deal slashing damage. They brandish their weapons in swift motions to land multiple quick attacks on those in range.

Add the Crescent Monks to your ranks by completing new Unit Challenges in Conqueror’s Blade: Eternal when they arrive later in the Season on March 6.

Development Journal: Equipment Reforging

Armorer: "Bah, why's everyone asking that old bugger to make equipment? My shop's as silent as the grave..."
Time passed and the blacksmith returned from the east, having learned an ancient art of reworking equipment. Rumor has spread among the tea houses of Haojing that the blacksmith came upon a legendary town where he mastered a long-lost art of smelting. They say that he has already surpassed his master in skill.

In the Eternal season, reconditioning will be upgraded into reforging, enabling you to create more powerful gear!
The Quest for Leadership
For the longest time, Leadership has been the ONE attribute everyone's been trying to stack on their armor pieces. I'm sure most of you would've picked a piece with leadership over a high-armor piece any day of the week. While enabling you to bring more units into battle to counter any foe you may come up against, it makes it more difficult to also gain increased survival attributes like health and defense. This makes it difficult to raise your survivability with equipment, plus, this quest for only leadership greatly detracts from the enjoyment of forging itself.

To remedy this, we're launching the Artificer's Forge with the next season, a system where you can "Get it All", so to say. This new system will give a boost to all attributes and is a chance to improve the gameplay experience.
Artificer's Forge System
Reforging will enable you to upgrade the equipment you forge. With reforging, your equipment will retain its set effects while giving you more chances to upgrade its attributes, or even gain completely new affixes. Naturally, reforging will reset a piece of equipment's endurance.
Locking Key Attributes
Some of you may wonder: "But won't that just destroy the Leadership equipment I've worked so hard to gather?"
To prevent this, we've added the ability to lock attributes. You can choose to lock certain attributes during reforging, preventing these to be altered in the process. You'll also get to choose after a reforge whether to keep your previous unlocked attributes or change to the new ones. This enables you to try for better and higher attributes without having to worry about losing what you've worked so hard to get.

For example: If you have a piece of equipment with +25 leadership, you can lock it and reforge and still retain that +25 leadership.
Effort is Always Rewarded
There are always those who get nothing but rare and epic weapons even after forging 10 times: "Hey, why aren't I getting any legendaries?"
We've reworked the reforging algorithm to remedy this very issue. If a reforging results in a rare or epic quality product, the chance for your next reforging to become legendary increases. This chance continues to increase until you create a legendary quality product.
Besides, the results of each reforging will be shown right there in the menu. This gives you a clear view of the chance for each possible outcome right from the get-go.

(This image is just a preview and might be subject to change)
Reforging Materials
Reforging will require [Artificer's Stones], which you can acquire from matchmaking battles, Territory War, events, raising your Conqueror's Path rank and by donating resources to the Fame Envoy.
We're not scrapping previously used hero materials either. We've added drops of these to the aforementioned content, giving you the means to further upgrade your equipment no matter what you enjoy doing in the game.

We'll continue to iterate on equipment in our quest to further improve playability and of course, bring more enjoyment.

Breaking News! Watch the Skies! The Divine Crow is Here!

In the world of Conqueror's Blade where battles are mainly fought steel against steel mano a mano, firearms can easily tip the tide of war. In a battle where fireballs can rain down from the sky at any moment, protecting your city's walls with pikes and shields may no longer be the best option.
The addition of artillery brought about great change, allowing for greater possibilities in each battle. On each map, you'll command your units and steer your hero through battle, while also needing to consider the strategic ramifications of each artillery. In some battles, choosing and using the correct artillery may well be what ultimately decides the outcome. Being a weapon that can cause such great effect, artillery has naturally been a focal point for our players. While we on our end, have always kept an eye on the enjoyment and balance of these powerful weapons.

All-New Artillery

With the launch of the new season [Eternal: The Jade Realm], we're adding an all-new artillery—The Divine Crow. Hopefully, this ancient Chinese weapon of war will bring about renewed vitality and enjoyment for our artillery!
The Divine Crow in History
Invented during the Ming dynasty, it was the first Chinese winged rocket featuring multiple tubes filled with gunpowder. Based on a book titled Weapons of War Compendium from 1412, the Divine Crow, was made from bamboo, reed and cotton. Shaped like a crow, its belly was filled with gunpowder. The four fuses on its back were connected to the four tubes beneath its belly. To launch it, one simply lit the four fuses, propelling the crow forward. Upon reaching its destination, the flames would engulf its belly and ignite the gunpowder stored within, creating a great fiery explosion that burned the target down. With the use of multiple tubes to push it forward and its supporting wings, it could hit targets over hundreds of meters away. It was thus capable of hitting targets behind walls or even in the back of the enemy's lines.
The Divine Crow in Conqueror's Blade
In Conqueror's Blade, the Divine Crow will become an important tool in your arsenal capable of causing devastating damage in a variety of scenarios. A single Divine Crow strike creates multiple explosions that deal lasting burn damage. All in all, it deals fairly high damage and enables you to exact control in a fairly big area. If set up ahead of time, it can be used to deal sustained damage and exact control over enemies in tight formations. Use it correctly and you can create openings for your own forces and more easily deal with tight groups of enemies.
Epic & Legendary Rarities
The Divine Crow comes in two rarities: epic and legendary. Each rarity features a unique appearance and damage profile. We are naturally prudent when adding new artillery to the game, and so it will only be available in epic rarity for a time being. As we continue to gather data and observe how it fares in combat, we will decide later on when to make available the legendary version too. But rest assured, you'll be able to test out both rarities from the get-go, as we'll be adding them to some Eastern-themed maps.
New PvE Challenge
We're adding an all-new PvE challenge to the World Map that you can challenge a limited number of times each week. Rise to the challenge to find unbound epic Divine Crows.
Unit Sharing Rewards
Rewards from sharing units with your House/Imperial Restorationists have a chance to grant epic Divine Crows. As they say, sharing is caring!
Territory War Report Rewards
Superior Territory War report rewards have a chance to grant epic Divine Crows.
The Divine Crow becomes available in the middle of March.
(Descriptions and images used are not the final versions and may be subject to change) We'll continue to explore artillery as a whole in the future, be that perfecting existing ones or developing new interesting ones. After all, artillery enables greater variety in strategy!
