Demo update II: visual overhaul and loads of fixes and updates

VERSION: 0.108

Replays
  • You can now watch a replay of your run in a level! Select 'Replay Editor' in the level end screen to start watching!
  • There is a free camera, allowing you to get some great cinematic shots. You can also use the standard follow camera.
  • You can save screenshots, and gifs from a replay.
  • Be aware that replays are still in a highly experimental phase and may be full of bugs or glitches.

Last Car!
  • New gameplay mechanic: last car!
  • When the timer of a level runs out, the level only ends once you have parked your current car.
  • You cannot take a new car when you're out of time, and crashing your last car will also end the level.

Gameplay & Features
  • In-game UI when finishing a level now shows best time, amount of cars used and crashed.
  • Using no more cars than there are parking spots in a level will result a perfection if all spots are filled.
  • When exiting a level back to the overworld, the level select menu will be opened automatically.
  • We've changed how settings are saved. If you played previous demo versions, your settings may have reset.
  • NPC cars now try to keep driving after hitting obstacles and also have a life time.
  • NPC cars now explode when hitting crash borders or magnets!
  • NPC cars with intelligent behaviour will now drive up slopes and steer a bit faster.
  • Fuel pickups can no longer fill up a car more than the starting amount of fuel.
  • Added setting to turn vsync on or off
  • Very Low and Low quality settings now disable car skid marks

Visuals
  • We're working on overhauling the visuals of the entire game and there's still much to be done.
  • The body of your car will now tilt based on movement. Purely visual.
  • Added billboards and more props to various levels and the overworld.
  • Changed shader requirements of the grass. This should improve hardware compatibility.

Bug Fixes
  • Added several more blockers in the overworld to prevent bad respawn locations.
  • Fixed floating tree on Crowded House
  • Fixed visual look of crashed/flattened bulldozers
  • Fixed cursor vanishing in pause menu after closing the bug reporter
  • Fixed level end screen sometimes appearing right after a restart
  • Fixed a UI issue with the first button of a menu not being highlighted

Optimizations
  • We're putting more focus on making the game run better. We've made a few small improvements in this version already, but more performance enhancements are still to come.
  • Improved performance of water rendering
  • Improved performance of car skid marks

Notes
  • There is a bug with cars sometimes being stuck at spawn. We're investigating a solution. If this happens, try pressing respawn or restarting the level.
  • The Replay Editor cannot have their controls customised yet. For azerty keyboard users, set your controls preset to azerty in the main menu for azerty-friendly controls.
