Upcoming Roadmap for Phoenix Point Updates

Operatives, here's when upcoming updates arrive for Phoenix Point.

We expect to release a small PC update next week (Nov. 4th) fixing some issues, which will be folded into the Hypnos update in mid-Nov for PlayStation and Xbox. We continue to work on the Behemoth Edition patch to address the memory leaks around game crashing and will share timing when we have that pinned down.

We will have more details on the PS5 and Xbox Series upgrade and DLC 5: Chaos Engines soon.

And last but not least, enjoy 50% off Phoenix Point: Year One Edition as part of the Steam Halloween sale this weekend: https://store.steampowered.com/app/839770/Phoenix_Point_Year_One_Edition/

Thanks all, and have a Happy Halloween!

Phoenix Point is free to play and 50% off on Steam this weekend

This weekend is your chance to jump into the nail-biting world of Phoenix Point, as the tense turn-based strategy game by famed designer Julian Gollop is free to play for the next two days on Steam. As this is the Year One edition, you'll have access to Phoenix Point plus all the DLC expansions released during its year of Epic Games Store exclusivity.

Phoenix Point returns to Gollop's X-Com roots: you command a team of highly trained soldiers whose job it is to fight back against a mutant alien menace that has devastated Earth. Between turn-based battles with aliens and other enemies, you'll have to make key decisions about which factions to forge alliances with and how to direct your scientists' research efforts.

There's also more of a global exploration element in Phoenix Point, since when the game begins, the aliens have pretty much already won, and your once familiar planet is twisted and overrun by the occupying forces. You'll also have to decide how you want to deal with the other factions, some of whom may wind up cooperating with the aliens - do you want to crush your rivals outright, or use espionage and deception to outmanoeuvre them?

New Hotfix Available

We've released a hotfix for the game, which includes a Unity upgrade, which should correct the performance-related issues, such as UI lag and other slowdown problems.

The team is still working on fixes for other reported issues, which include, but aren’t limited to:
  • Game instability or frequent crashing
  • Delayed controller input or unresponsive controls

We also are evaluating potential Quality-of-life features requested by console owners to include in future updates, and we’ll be sure to communicate timing around both fixes and features as soon as we can.

Thank you!
