Super Leopards and Super Jaguars have been spotted!


New Super Animals have been spotted! Super Leopards and Super Jaguars heard the roar of the JAG-7 and have arrived in the Research Lab for you to create.

We're hard at work on a Major Update and winter event for December (more on that soon), but we still have one more November surprise in store for you as well! So keep an eye on our Twitter, Facebook and Discord this coming Monday, Nov 25th.

v0.90.2 Patch Notes
Super Leopard and 3 additional breeds:
  • Super Jaguar
  • Super Sour Leopard

Gun recoil adjustments:
  • AK maximum recoil down to 10 degrees from 12.
  • M16 maximum recoil down to 9 degrees from 10.
  • Minigun recoil per shot lowered to 1 degree from 2.5 degrees. Max is still the same.


New Milestones:
  • Win with melee only (reward: POW! Mallet)
  • Winning with no armor (reward: Keikogi)
  • Secret third milestone arriving on Monday, Nov 25!


Game improvements:
  • New "auto-pick duplicates" button to streamline item trade-up system.
  • Item trade-up no longer closes after a trade and performance has been boosted on this screen. Super trade speed boost!
  • Duct taping hotkey can now be held down to continue taping multiple times.
  • Cleaned up some art/texture files for faster loading and performance.
  • Roll animation improved so subsequent rolls can be timed more perfectly when you visually see the animal's feet landing. Get those perfect roll sparkles!
  • If a player dies to the skunk gas within 3s of being damaged by another player, that player will get kill credit.
  • Initial game load speed increased (the hamster ball animation won't be smooth anymore, but the load is now significantly faster).


Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug where the Poison Dart Gun wouldn't kill poisoned targets.
  • Fixed a bug where healing and taping could be done while entering a hamster ball.
  • Translation fixes.
  • Two toed sloth icon fixed.

Super Tracksuits are in, Super Halloween is out!

Super Halloween has ended, and it's time to work off all that candy corn! Everyone who participated in the event (and collected at least 1 candy corn) will be receiving a complimentary red or blue tracksuit. Gym membership not included.

Here's the rest of your patch notes for v0.90.1:
  • The red and blue tracksuits will also be available as regular item drops, along with a black tracksuit, teal retro tracksuit, and pink retro tracksuit.
  • New stretching routine emote: earn by completing the new milestone for traveling 500km.
  • Super Animals can now flip left and right while performing the Handstand and Russian Dance emotes.
  • A few of the map changes from last patch have been improved (better crate placement and easier movement/passages).
  • We've put away all our halloween decorations for the year, but the graveyard, Super Scarecrows and pumpkin patch are here to stay.
  • Reduced memory usage by about 10-15%.
  • Minigun no longer stays spinning while the map is open.
  • The text field for coupon codes is selected by default now when opening the Coupon Code popup. Even easier to enter the "DAYOFTHEDEAD" code from our Major Update and others!
  • Fixed bots occasionally walking through walls.
  • Fix for high ping players getting stuck with grenades/bananas while emoting.
  • Some optimizations with game textures.
  • Translation fixes.
  • Some clothing fixes.

v0.90 Major Update: Shooting Gallery, New Weapon, Super Alebrijes & More


The Welcome Center has expanded! Head north from the fountain to visit the Super Shooting Gallery where you can pick up any gun from the game and practice your aim. You’ll also be able to find the brand new JAG-7 Shotgun in the gallery and take it for a spin.

In addition to the Super Shooting Gallery, make sure to visit SAW Studios, where Donk Patrick & Howl Michaels record episodes of Super Animal Royale Tonight, and take a stroll along the Super Walk of Stars.

Super Halloween Continues Until Nov 10


The Super Halloween event is in full swing! Read the full patch notes for the event and candy corn hunt here. Previously, all kills were worth 1 candy corn in addition to the candy corn you can find around the island. Today’s update boosts the amount of candy corn you get for kills:
  • Bots still drop a single candy corn piece in Duos & Squads, but now drop 3 in Solos.
  • Players now drop 3 candy corn in Duos & Squads, and 5 (a bowl) in Solos.
  • The last kill of the game is worth 5 candy corn in all three modes, and is granted automatically without needing to pick it up.


Super Day of the Dead

Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) is almost here, and it has brought 4 new Super Alebrije breeds to the fight! Create them in the Research Lab:

New Weapon: JAG-7 Shotgun

The JAG-7 is an epic & legendary tier shotgun with faster reload, 7 pellets per shot (up from 5 pellets with regular shotguns) and allows its user to move more quickly while using it. Epic rarity JAG-7 Shotguns can spawn in the world, but the legendary versions are only available in mole crates. You'll know your enemy has one when you hear its roar!

Super Shooting Updates

You can now test guns in the game lobby, but only in the Super Shooting Gallery area.

We've also added a new system for bullet spread, and want your feedback on it! Previously, each gun had a set spread amount that was applied randomly to each of the bullets it shot. Each shot fired would pick a direction within that spread, and the amount would be amplified further if you were moving. This system lacked clarity, and actions like rolling did not affect it, so we've made a number of improvements to the way this works in addition to adding a new gun spread UI for clarity:
  • Most guns have first shot accuracy, especially while standing still.
  • As you shoot, the spread will grow (with rate and maximum based on the gun type).
  • The spread will shrink back down after 0.2s of not shooting.
  • Rolling and creep-rolling will cause a temporary widening of spread.
  • Standing still or creeping will reset spread quicker than running.
  • New indicators have been added near the cursor to highlight the current weapon spread. They will also fade out as you aim further away, indicating the lessening of effectiveness for that gun as the range gets further.
  • Weapon rarity will no longer affect recoil, making each gun more consistent and easy to learn.

Gun-specific adjustments
  • Poison Dart Gun's projectile speed increased (for both uncommon and rare versions).
  • Poison Dart Gun's poison damage reduced from 12 to 9 (per tick), but it can now fully eliminate your enemy. If you’re poisoned, be quick with using health items to avoid dying!
  • Sniper bullet speed reduced by about 4%. This brings it a bit closer to rifles, while still being faster.
  • Sniper rarities changed visually to better match their power: common (gray) changed to rare (blue), uncommon (green) changed to epic (purple), and rare (blue) changed to legendary (gold). All stats remain the same aside from the aforementioned bullet speed.
  • Sniper world-spawn rate decreased slightly to match the increased rarities.
  • Sniper lowered to 2 ticks of damage to Hamster Balls, so if the Hamster Ball is undamaged, it will take 2 shots to break it.
  • Shotgun pellets now spread out much more evenly.
  • Shotgun blasts no longer damage armor on a player if they were in a hamster ball (until the next shot).
  • Skunk bomb now lasts for 5.4s instead of 4.2s (2 additional damage ticks).
  • Minigun fixed to point more accurately to where you're aiming.


Game Improvements
  • The winner(s) of a match will get 100 bonus experience, and top 5 (or top 3 in duos & top 2 in squads) will get 50 bonus experience.
  • Two milestones added for the Super Shooting Gallery.
  • Gas circle has been improved so that it will pick more parts of the map, while avoiding ocean & water bodies.
  • The Giant Eagle will now be more random and varied in its flight path directions.
  • Many small map improvements to various spots across the island.
  • Mole crates are now guaranteed to always drop at least one gun.
  • Health Juice containers will leave the remainder on the ground if you reach maximum while picking one up.
  • Controller aimer will now be a bit further or closer depending on the weapon's effective range.
  • Controller aimer fixed to match where you are aiming.
  • Fixed buttons on the item reward popup having overflowing text with certain translations.
  • Fixed item auto-pickup causing player reviving to cancel.
  • Fixed shadows glitching with some environment pieces.
  • Vampire bat cosmetics placement/sizing fixed.
  • Fix applied for the leveling up sound playing forever in some rare cases.

Super Halloween has arrived in Super Animal World!


The Super Animals are donning their costumes and planning out trick-or-treat routes, which can only mean one thing: Super Halloween is upon us! Candy corn is scattered across the island, so round up your best dressed squadmates and get hunting. You’ll be able to redeem your candy corn spoils for 20 event-exclusive halloween cosmetics until November 10th.

The S.A.W. scientists have also whipped up 4 new hair-raising Halloween Super Breeds (and a 5th additional bonus breed) for you to create in the Research Lab, bringing the total up to 254 breeds!

Super October Starts Now

The Super Halloween event is only the beginning of our Super October schedule. Next Friday at 6pm PST, Donk and Howl will be streaming the live YouTube Premiere of the sixth episode of Super Animal Royale Tonight, and the week after that, we’re releasing our next Major Update for the game, including significant new additions to the island that you might just see teased in SAR Tonight!

Super Halloween Event
October 18 - November 10 (at 11:59pm PST)

During the event, you’ll find candy corn scattered around the island, in 3 different quantities. Individual candy corn pieces are common, but you’ll also have a rare chance of finding a bundle of 3 candy corn pieces or an even rarer chance of finding a bowl of 5. Candy corn replenishes your health too: 5, 15 or 25 hp depending on the size of the candy corn pile you’ve found.

You can trade in your candy corn for items of your choosing, from a selection of 20 limited-edition event items! And if you want to be a pro trick-or-treater and collect them all, be sure to invite your friends to hunt with you in Duos or Squads since all candy corn collected is shared amongst your group.

  • A graveyard has been added to the swamp, in memory of all the fallen Super Animals.
  • Spectator ghosts now haunt the graves of fallen Super Animals.

  • Adjusted collisions with the Labs cages to be more even with walls, so horizontal movement is easier.
  • Also adjusted some collisions in the caves so they are more even.
  • Fixed a glitch on a cave wall where the character would clip through it.
  • Fixed blank item text when first viewing of the Emotes tab in Customize.
  • Fixed a bug where equipping melee items sometimes wouldn't show it in the main menu.
  • Fixed a bug where milestones & dailies would show as completed after a game was over.
  • Translation fixes.

Super Bobcat and Super Lynx have arrived with a furrocious new update

v0.89.3 Patch Notes

Get your cat DNA ready: a purrfectly deadly duo has arrived in the Research Lab! Super Bobcat and Super Lynx join the fight alongside a long list of community requested improvements and new languages!

Yesterday we also had a bit of downtime due to an outage with our matchmaking provider, so we're giving everyone an epic rarity item drop as thanks for bearing with us! You'll receive it in the main menu within the next few hours :).

Bonjour Europe! 5 New Languages Have Arrived

Super Animal Royale now supports 5 additional languages (bringing the total up to 11):
  • German
  • Italian
  • French
  • Spanish (Spain)
  • Spanish (Latin America)

And all of the existing languages are getting upgrades as well, with translations for every animal, item, and cosmetic in the game. Join us in extending a HUGE thanks to all of the volunteer translators from the community who make this possible!

Emote Wheel Upgrades
  • You can now play your last used emote by tapping the emote wheel hotkey.
  • Tapping while in an emote will cancel the current emote.
  • Reduced size of the 'Cancel' circle slightly, so reaching an emote is faster.
  • Keyboard users can now bind emotes to individual hotkeys. By default, they are unbound.
  • For controller users, the emote wheel will appear on the side you are facing.
Super Readability Upgrades

Thanks for all the suggestions for improving accessibility (especially Lavender, from our Discord community)! We'll be doing even more over time, but for now we've upgraded readability in a bunch of places in the game interface:
  • Kill feed has been redesigned with icons for weapons (including custom ones for every individual melee weapon, hamsterballs, etc) and a dark background.
  • Much of the white text that pops up on screen now has a drop shadow.
  • Chat feed now has a background.
  • Item title text in the Customize menu has a drop shadow.


More Super Improvements
  • Mole Crates will now always drop at least one weapon.
  • S.A.W. Research Labs region now has custom ambient sounds inside the buildings.
  • Players can turn off their gem from showing in Steam & Discord parties. The toggle is accessible by clicking on your level in the main menu.
  • In Steam & Discord parties, player name text is a bit bigger, and 'Ready' text is a bit smaller. The player's gem has been decreased in size and placed beside the player's name.
  • The gun skins tab in the Customize menu now uses icons for each gun, which both looks nicer and fixes some languages that were overflowing the panel.
  • Items that had their milestone requirements in the name will now show it in the description instead.


Super Fixes and Optimizations
  • Made some texture settings changes which should lower memory usage and load times a bit.
  • Silenced Pistol reload sound extended slightly, to match the actual time.
  • Small optimizations to game code.
  • Fix for the ammo label glitching when toggling UI.
  • Fix for controller navigation on some items in the Customize menu.
  • Fix for the Fennec's sleeves.
