May 12th 2021 Update Pre-Announcement

Hello Chasers,

The upcoming update on May 12th will bring an all-new PVP mode called “Destruction” to the game.
“Destruction” will not be part of the official PVP modes yet and will be tested in Beta Mode, where it will have no effect on Rating.

Please check the detail below for more on how to get started in Destruction.

We hope to test parts of our previously planned Control Revamp with Destruction Beta Mode update.
So, go ahead and try some of these changes in the Destruction mode and compare it to what you’re used to in the official modes.

Don’t stress about your rank as Destruction Beta Mode will not count towards it and tells us what you think about it!

Help us by playing this new mode and also by giving us some detailed feedback through a survey.
(The survey will be available after the UTC+0 2021-05-12 maintenance.)

Check out the details below!
[Control Change Details]
1. Stamina/Mana removed
We simplified resource management so that you can better focus on the battle itself.

2. Changes due to Stamina removal
Because stamina is removed, some command skills had to be adjusted.
- Dual Soul’s RMB movement distance reduced.
- Blazing Fist’s Dash RMB will now use Dash Spheres.
- Soul of Magus’ Aerial RMB will now use Dash Spheres.
- Lightning Fang’s RMB reflect will now use Dash Spheres when reflect is successful.
- Ruler of Darkness’ Aerial Flight will now use Dash Spheres.

3. Blow System removed
We decided to remove the Blow System because it was hard to recognize and also, it was frustrating to be stuck in a combo for so long.

4. Combining Dash & Evade
We combined Dash & Evade because they serve a similar purpose and to make it easier to manage. The new dash moves a greater distance than when these skills were used consecutively. Just spamming this skill can now put you at a disadvantage and allow enemies to punish you.
However, to minimize drastic changes from pre-existing play patterns, both the dash key and the evade key can be used to activate the new Dash.
- Max 3 Dash Spheres (New resource consumed from activating Dash)
- At the start of the game, all players start with 3 Dash Spheres.
- Invincibility during Dash (Evade)

5. Natural Recovery removed
This was removed due to giving winning players an advantage by encouraging them to run away with the lead and making the games boring as a result.
Also with this change, we removed restriction on healing skills healing only to specific amounts, so healing skills can now be 100% effective at all times.

6. Movement Speed reduced
To control the speed of the game overall, we reduced basic movement speed and movement speed increase from Dash Sprint.
To account for kiting by ranged Karmas against melee Karmas, we gave melee Karmas 10% faster movement speed.

7. Knockdown, Breakfall changes
- Knockdown State
Removed invincibility from Knockdown state. You can now take damage from attacks during Knockdown.

- Breakfall
Breakfall is used to get out of Knockdown quickly but follow-up attacks from enemies made this maneuver less effective than intended. Therefore, we added invincibility during Breakfall so that you can stand up from knockdown without taking damage!

8. Difficult Control Improvements
We made the following changes to address difficulties in Dash during Charging, using skills while Aiming, and recovering Special Resources.
