Start your warp drives, it’s time for the Federation Grand Prix once more! Introducing new landmark sights to see, plus daily rewards and multiple circuit routes across New Eden, the fastest Capsuleers in the cluster can compete against each other for glory until 11:00 UTC on 23 March.
Federation Grand Prix – Daily Challenges
As part of the Reign Quadrant, the daily Federation Grand Prix seasonal challenges will task you with getting yourself to the start line in the Luminaire system and then racing to a number of selected landmark locations within a designated time limit to earn rewards.

You’ll get to know parts of New Eden in a way you may never have before and claim challenge rewards such as Luminaire Zenith SKINs and Grand Prix Boosters.

Until 11:00 UTC on 23 March, you can log in to EVE Online daily and get free rewards as part of the Federation Grand Prix event!

Rewards for Alpha pilots include an Expert System that will temporarily grant any pilot the necessary skills and skill levels to fly speedy Interceptors, perfect for the daily challenges! Alphas can also claim Grand Prix Velocity Boosters, Luminaire Zenith SKINs, and 15,000 Skill Points. Omega pilots get all of the Alpha rewards plus more Luminaire Zenith SKINs, an extra 35,000 Skill Points, and an extra Grand Prix Warp Booster for further race day advantages!

Here’s a snapshot of some of the daily rewards you can look forward to during the event:

Remember, you must log in on at least 7 days of the event to claim all the rewards, but those days need not be consecutive.
New Landmarks
New landmarks added to New Eden include the Statue of Chribba which pays tribute to a much celebrated and respected Capsuleer in the EVE community, the Alliance Tournament Monument that commemorates the majesty of competitive combat on a legendary scale, the Project Discovery Phase Two Monument that celebrates the Capsuleers’ contribution to the discovery of exoplanets, the Doriam II Memorial that stands in memory of a well-loved Amarr emperor, and more!
Abyssal Proving Grounds
There will also be a new Abyssal Proving Grounds event going live between 12 and 16 March to coincide with the theme of the Federation Grand Prix. You can engage in 1v1 Interceptor combat with a special 100% ship velocity bonus!
Federation Grand Prix Contest – Time Trials
The quickest and craftiest Capsuleers can also write their name into the history books of New Eden as well as getting their hands on some other great prizes! Expert Systems – now live

Expert Capsuleers,

Brand new Expert Systems are now live in EVE Online! These are designed to help rookie Capsuleers discover and experience new activities by providing specific virtual skills and skill levels for a limited time that cannot be extracted through the use of Skill Extractors.

For a 7-day period per Expert System, you can taste the dream of a particular profession in EVE without having to commit to the skill training required by that path of progression and waiting for it to complete.

The first batch of Expert System products will focus on exploration, mining, and the core skills required to operate spaceships in EVE (commonly referred to as the ‘Magic 14’).

You’ll be able to purchase Expert Systems that allow you to fly a Tech 1 exploration Frigate – either the Heron, Imicus, Magnate, or Probe – for 7 days, one that will allow you to operate a Mining Barge for 7 days, and one that will boost your essential flying skills for 7 days.

Expert Systems will not be lost when your ship or capsule is destroyed in space - similar to how Cerebral Accelerators work. Unlike Accelerators, however, the Expert Systems will be applied to a character upon redemption and cannot be transferred between characters or sold on the in-game market.
While an Expert System is applied, you will still be able to gain Skill Points and train new skills (and of course train the same skills you have active in an Expert System).

Once an Expert System expires, access to the temporary skills and levels provided will be removed and you would need to either extend your access through a repeat Expert System purchase or train the skills themselves.

Expert Systems, in their current form, are obtainable only from the EVE Store and others will occasionally be part of daily login rewards.

Fleet Formations – live now!

Tactically-astute Capsuleers,

The Fleet Formations update has gone live in EVE Online! As part of the Reign Quadrant, Capsuleers now have a powerful tactical weapon to wield on the battlefield.

Fleets will be able to arrive at a location from warp in a variety of formations that not only look amazing, but can also be used to influence fleet behavior.

Fleets can warp in pre-determined Point, Sphere, Arrow, Wall, and Plane formations. The shape, size, and spacing between ships can also be adjusted. There is also an additional Relative (custom) formation option which will snapshot the relative position of all ships within a given range of the Fleet Commander and warp them all to the same relative positions at the warp destination.

Also as part of the Fleet Formations update, the new deployable Mobile Cynosural Beacon is now available in-game. Improving the ease of fleet travel by cyno in New Eden, the Mobile Cynosural Beacon allows fleets to be deployed without the need for a dedicated cynosural beacon ship.

This personal deployable takes 2 minutes to come online, at which time it will activate a cyno beacon allowing other Capsuleers in Jump Drive capable vessels within the same fleet to jump or bridge to the beacon’s location. The Mobile Cynosural Beacon cannot be scooped into a cargo hold after deployment as it simply decays after a set duration.

Warp to the action in formation, summon your fleet with a deployed Mobile Cyno, and reign supreme on the battlefield!
