Multiple Character Training Revitalized

Assiduous Capsuleers,

Multiple Character Training (MCT) has been refurbished fresh for 2022. An MCT is a convenient way for you to train an alternative character without losing time on your main and without the hassle of a second account!

When you purchase Multiple Character Training through the EVE Store, you'll receive a certificate that will enable an additional character on that account to train at the same time! This means less time juggling accounts, and training queues, and an easy way to start training the alternative character that you’ve always planned to make.

With these new updates to MCT, you are able to purchase packs of MCT in 1, 2, 3, 6, 12, or 24 increments, just like with Omega! This adds more convenience and eliminates the worry about when your training expires. Note that MCT binds to your account and cannot be traded on the market in EVE.

Not sure what kind of alternative character to train? Create a neutral hauler or scout, build the perfect dread pilot, or maybe even a dedicated industry, and market character. The number of possibilities for your alternative character are as massive as New Eden itself. Start training a new character today with MCT!

Building the foundations for an evolved EVE experience

As part of setting EVE up forever, we remain committed to delivering continual improvements that make EVE the most beautiful and immersive sci-fi game. Some of those changes are now available on the Singularity test server, while others will be added over the next few weeks.
Get lost in the sensory experience
Several visual and audio updates are available to experience on Sisi, including high-resolution nebulas, improvements to cloud visuals and audio in certain areas of space. Engine sounds are also getting an update and rebalance, in particular for other ships than your own. Additionally, an update to texture compression and packing will enable you to experience every asset in the game - including these updated elements - with higher visual fidelity than ever before, and with minimal impact on client performance.
Laying the technical foundations
Furthermore, in preparation for enabling DirectX12 we are planning mass test next week. DirectX 12 is key to modernizing EVE and laying the foundations for the third decade and is a crucial part of the narrative journey that lies ahead in New Eden.
A fresh new look for Career Agents
After their first introduction to New Eden, many Capsuleers engage with Career Agents to help get their bearings. The first phase of the Career Agent update is still underway but will introduce a visual overhaul of all dungeons and environments to make them more visually stimulating and modern. In addition, the Enforcer Career Agent will introduce guidance highlights and tooltips to aid new players, as well as a whole new and modern look for the agent conversation window when using Photon UI. Furthermore you will see the local text messages and other pop-ups move to the transmission window.

We are taking the Nodegraph editor, originally built for the AIR NPE, and co-opting this technology for missions and dungeons, beginning with Career Agent missions. This will enable more interactive experiences and build up a library of actions and events which will ultimately lead to faster development of new content and experiences. A bright future of scripted and flexible experiences awaits!

Learnings from this first phase will inform the next steps in the modernization of EVE’s agents.
Great things sometimes come in small packages
On our path to modernize the EVE experience, the new Photon UI focuses on improving and modernizing the UI so that it is easy to grasp, even if it remains hard to master. Taking player feedback into account, you can now test out Compact Mode for select windows on Singularity. We prioritized those windows where information density is important, such as the overview, D-Scan, Chat and Fleet windows, People & Places, and more.

To enable Compact Mode, click on the "More" button adjacent to the “Close” button in the upper right-hand corner of the active window. From here, select the Compact Mode option from the drop-down menu that appears.

Make sure to enable Photon UI in the feature preview system on Singularity and provide your feedback on Compact Mode.

An Anger Games Proving Grounds nears

Furious Capsuleers,

With the return of the Anger Games now underway, the next round of Abyssal Proving Grounds action is dedicated to the beloved community-run tournament. What does that mean? This time 1V1 cruiser combat comes with a hot-headed twist. All ships that enter this Proving Ground clash will receive a special bonus that doubles the benefits gained from overheating the following module groups:
 • Tackle Modules
 • Propulsion Modules
 • Repair Modules
 • Resistance Modules
 • Energy Warfare ModulesTurrets
 • Launchers

That means you can expect furiously intense, dramatic action throughout the one day this 1V1 event, which takes place on 4 June exclusively.

The 1V1 is open to Omen, Caracal, Thorax, Stabber, Maller, Moa, Vexor, and Rupture hulls. Those preparing to enter should also know that sensor dampeners, weapon disruptors, shield boost amplifiers, shield rechargers, shield power relays, shield flux coils, and core defence field purgers are all banned for this special.

Pilots that join this event will also be restricted to Meta 4 modules, with their ships limited to a maximum of one local repair module fitted (shield or armor).

To get involved with the Angry Games Abyssal Proving Grounds event, grab those Proving Filaments and get yourself to the Proving Grounds on 4 June. And, as ever, the Proving Grounds leaderboards will allow you to track Capsuleer performance through the event.

CSM 17 - Meet Your Candidates!

Democratically minded Capsuleers!

Over the last couple of weeks, we have reviewed all the CSM applications to ensure that they meet the outlined guidelines and eligibility requirements. We initially made a commitment this round of aiming to have a 72-hour turnaround for applicants this term. We acknowledge that we didn’t hit that number as close as we’d hoped with every single applicant due to a combination of issues surrounding both Fanfest and COVID-19 illness across the team, but we did still get the bulk of the applications confirmed in record time.

To give a summary and reminder of the timeline for upcoming CSM17 key dates:
 • 2 May – 16 May – Submissions Open
 • 9 May – 20 May – Application Processing
 • 25 May – Live Candidates announcement (You are here)
 • 25 May – 5 June – Active Campaign Period
 • 7 June (11:00 UTC) - 14 June (11:00 UTC) – Voting period
 • 16 June – CSM 17 Announcement

However, with no further ado, it is with great excitement that we can confirm and present to you the full list of candidates for the upcoming Council of Stellar Management 17! From events operators to 3rd party developers and from Nullsec candidates to Highsec candidates (with a sprinkling from Pochven, Wormhole, and Lowsec) we have a great selection of applicants this year!

We are excited to confirm that the total number of applicants this year is 45 people. Only three of the incumbents have made a return this year, so it’s shaping up to be a very fresh-looking CSM next term.

The CSM Campaign period begins now, 25 May, and runs for a little under two weeks until 5 June. During this period, you will be able to learn more about your prospective candidates and hear about why they should earn your votes! Each candidate has a forum thread on the Eve Online forums with a comprehensive overview of their campaign platform. Of course, many of our Eve Online Partners and other content producers may offer to cover the CSM campaigns, providing a plethora of sounding boards for the various messages that candidates would like to get across.

As with last year, CCP will be hosting brief interviews with the candidates during this active campaign period live on CCPTV. We’ll be announcing the schedule around this time, so keep an eye out on Twitter, Facebook, and the forums to tune in and hear from your favourite candidate. Don’t worry if you can’t attend live, though, the VoD will be saved on the channel giving you ample opportunity to listen to the interviews for any of the candidates during the voting period!

The CSM elections utilize a unique voting system, called the STV system. it is possible to select a variety of candidates to vote for on your ballot and we’d recommend that you fill your ballot sheet up with those who have piqued your interest as there is always an opportunity that the votes will trickle down if someone on your ballot gets voted in!
