EVE Academy – Fitting your ship

Academic Capsuleers,

A new tutorial has been added to EVE Academy! This video will help you get started with ship fitting as a part of the Enforcer path. You can find the video below or over on the EVE Academy site itself.

EVE Academy is your guide to New Eden - a website aimed at giving new EVE Online players the best start by providing a tailored learning experience. It provides a wealth of information designed to help you decide who you want to be. Pick from Explorer, Industrialist, Enforcer (PvE) or Soldier of Fortune (PvP) to get skill plans, beginner ship fittings, and curated links to resources created by the EVE Online community.

Picking and fitting your ship for purpose is the most important way to ensure your success in an upcoming Security mission. Generally, progression from level 1 to level 4 missions will involve stepping from a Tech 1 (T1) frigate to a T1 destroyer for level 2 missions. Level 3 missions can be completed in a cruiser or battlecruiser depending on skills and fit, and level 4 typically requires a well-prepared battleship. The progression path of any faction's ships can be seen in the in-game ship tree.

You can increase your chances of success by ensuring that you fit armor or shield tank modules which improve your resists against the damage types of the specific enemy you are fighting. This information can be found in the Show Info tab of most hostile NPCs. Additionally, PvE in EVE commonly requires that you stay and fight for an extended period of time. This means that fits for missions are better suited to fitting active shield or armor repair modules - Shield Boosters and Armor Repairers. -EVE Academy, Enforcer

Summon the Swarm

Brave Capsuleers,

Brace yourselves to open the portal to a new form of capital gameplay coming to New Eden! The CONCORD Rogue Analysis Beacon is a deployable that has been developed for use by Capsuleers to aid in the research of the increasing number of aggressive Rogue Drones appearing around the cluster.

Taking this device into Lowsec or Nullsec will allow you to anchor it where it will attempt to scan for data on nearby Rogue Drone threats. If the scan completes you will be handsomely rewarded! However, beware of local rogue drones who may try to destroy your beacon before it gathers any intel.

A CONCORD Rogue Analysis Beacon can be anchored by any ship, but must be linked to by a ship capable of supporting its operation - a dreadnought, carrier, supercarrier, or titan. During the powering up phase, the beacon will utilise power from the supporting capital, rendering it stationary for a time. After this powering-up phase, the supporting capital is freed from immobilisation. The beacon will now activate and broadcast a signal calculated to be attractive to the Rogue Drone hordes hunting for technology to salvage.

There will be more information about this deployable soon, but you can discover the feature yourself today on Singularity. So make sure you head over to the test server to try out this exciting new content and leave any feedback you have in the forum thread!

Get ready Capsuleers. Fit your capitals and prepare yourself to summon the swarm!

EVE Academy – Trading for Profit

Academic Capsuleers,

A new tutorial has been added to EVE Academy! This video will teach you the basics of EVE’s markets as a part of the Industrialist path. You can find the video below or over on the EVE Academy site itself.

EVE Academy is your guide to New Eden - a website aimed at giving new EVE Online players the best start by providing a tailored learning experience. It provides a wealth of information designed to help you decide who you want to be. Accessing the market to buy or sell items is very simple. The regional market can be opened straight from your Neocom where sell orders are displayed above buy orders alongside graphs of price history, quantity, and trading volume per day. Sell orders are other Capsuleers offering to sell their items for ISK and buy orders serve as the opposite - pilots putting down ISK in advance if you have the right item to sell to them.

Most trading activity takes place in and around the market hub known as Jita 4-4, though other, smaller trade hubs do exist in popular PvE or PvP locations. If you're savvy enough to spot a deal then it's very possible to turn a profit by hauling goods or simply buying low and selling high. -EVE Academy, Industrialist
