A fascinating new documentary looking at the EVE community – and their annual coming together at EVE Fanfest – is out now over on the official EVE Online YouTube channel.
Belonging: An EVE Fanfest Documentary
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Produced by the talented team at The Escapist, ‘Belonging: An EVE Fanfest Documentary’ explores the community that powers EVE Online, the unique celebration that is Fanfest, and the impact the gathering has on the future of New Eden. It’s all part of the build-up to EVE Fanfest 2023, which takes place 21-23 September, marking the culmination of this year’s EVE 20th anniversary celebrations.
Fanfest
For two decades EVE Online itself has brought people together into a one-of-a-kind online community where lifetime friendships and powerful bonds are formed. EVE’s pilots are much more than players. Their collective contributions to the EVE universe form the fabric of New Eden, from spontaneous events that shift the power balance of the Empires, to their feedback to the dev team. Every player that steps into EVE’s world has an important role to play. That’s even truer at Fanfest itself, where together we create and share memorable experiences and guide the future of EVE Online and its journey to forever.

EVE Fanfest is also about reconnecting with a community spread across the world, catching up with friends, partying until late with in-game rivals and allies alike, and forming memories to cherish for life. You might even find a bit of time for some in-person scheming and plotting.
Crowd Kon7rol
Speaking of partying, if you’re lucky enough to have secured tickets for EVE Fanfest’s infamous Party at the Top of the World, you’ll be able to catch the debut performance by the new EVE in-house band, Crowd Kon7rol. Formed of EVE devs and other CCP staff, cyber popsters Crowd Kon7rol are live on stage at Fanfestready to dazzle with a debut of their new single . Just can’t wait? You can check out the music video to ‘On Top of the World’ right here.

Design a T-shirt for the EVE Online 20th Anniversary
Creative Capsuleers,
To celebrate players and their contribution to New Eden over the years, today kicks off a competition for our most creative community members to design an original piece of artwork to celebrate 20 years of EVE.

The two best designs will be printed on t-shirts to be sold at the EVE Fanfest 2023 and online in the EVE Merch store - with your beautiful design on the front and your name proudly printed on the back, you’ll be a true part of the 20th anniversary celebrations.
Competition timeline
The competition ends 30 May 23:59 UTC. This means you have three weeks during the 20th anniversary celebration month to create and submit your designs.

Your design should appeal to all EVE players, which means you should not submit any designs which include alliances, corporations or other identifiable player emblems / logos.

Player-Made In-Game Billboards Return!
Commercial capsuleers,
We’re proud to announce the official relaunch of player-submitted video advertisements in EVE Online, enabling capsuleers to promote their own corporations, alliances, EVE-related services, and public in-game events!

Who among us hasn't had their mouth water at the thought of enjoying some delicious Matigu Sushi, or dreamed about how much FOMO pictures from a vacation to the stunning beaches of The Jade Coast of Matar booked with travel agency Sinfina Mondo would generate among friends on GalNet? In the EVE universe, publicity is power – and with this relaunch, players can once again submit ads to be featured alongside iconic New Eden brands on in-game billboards.

These ubiquitous displays appear in stations across New Eden as well as in space near stargates and are viewed by tens of thousands of pilots every single day, providing the perfect opportunity for you to get your group or content noticed!

You can read everything you need to know about submitting your own billboard videos in this article on the EVE Help Desk. A critical eye will be applied to submissions to ensure that any advertisements that make it into the game are of high quality and consistent with the aesthetic of New Eden, and it must be said that this service may not be used to publicize scams or anything else that might harm players’ wealth or assets in-game; any attempts to do so will be looked upon most unfavorably by CCP.

The first batch of new player-created ads will be appearing in-game this June coinciding with the release of EVE Online: Viridian, so be sure to submit your videos soon for a shot at being among the first to glorify your player group during this exciting corporation and community-focused expansion!

The talent and creativity demonstrated by EVE Online players continues to delight us every day. We can’t wait to see what you will produce for in-game billboards and look forward to bringing your creations to life across New Eden soon.

See you (and your ads) in space!
