CCP Games Knows “EVE Forever” Means Community Forever

I spoke about community when it comes to EVE Online at their 2023 Fanfest. Now, two years later, I am back in Iceland at EVE Fanfest 2025, and a lot of the same sentiments ring true. However, with the launch of new games like EVE Vanguard and EVE Frontier, I am beginning to learn just how involved players are in the EVE universe. It isn’t just that the community needs EVE; EVE really needs its community, too.

Of course, every game or franchise needs a community. They need engagement, event turnouts, game sales and microtransactions. EVE Online needs all that too, but it is so much deeper than that with CCP Games and their Capsuleers. Sitting in the main hall during the EVE Fanfest keynote, we were given loads of data regarding player stats, massive battles and what the players have been up to.

The reaction of EVE players when they see their faction, avatar or others they recognize on the big screen in front of nearly 1,500 is priceless. Seeing a company highlight... Read more

Your colors are a statement of unity and boost pride, cohesion, and recognition as your influence grows across the cluster. Whether you want to broadcast your philosophy, rally your members, or simply stand apart, your palette is yours to define.
Amass Firepower, Command Destruction
Two fearsome new warships bring ultimate firepower and resilience, designed to dominate the battlefield and inspire awe.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

The Babaroga, a Triglavian marauder, delivers brutal entropic disintegrator damage and its bastion module unleashes record-breaking subcap DPS.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

The Sarathiel, an agile and fierce Angel Cartel dreadnought, unleashes fast, long-range capital-class destruction, enjoys big bonuses to capital projectile damage and falloff, and the unique ability to use a capital micro jump drive (CJMD) in siege mode!
Shape Your Space
New sovereignty upgrades will bring more control and dynamism to your nullsec territories. Mold your space and expand your strategies with powerful new sovereignty upgrades that provide new exploration opportunities and even greater leverage over your resources.

Firstly, new upgrades are being introduced that let you generate new colony resources by utilizing existing ones. Each one comes in three tiers, allowing for more flexibility when shaping your space to match the activities and ambitions of you and your corpmates.

Four new upgrades that consist of paired bonuses are also being added, allowing sovereignty owners to tailor their systems to fit their preferred combat styles, ships, and modules. For example, one of the system modifiers will apply a gamma effect to benefit your shield doctrines and capacitor capacity. Another plasma effect system modifier will benefit your armor comp and module overheating.

Finally, an improved version of the exploration upgrades that spawn data and relic sites are being re-introduced, complete with a new distribution system that will affect the spawn rate of these sites for several systems instead of just one. These upgrades will also have a guaranteed spawn rate upon installation and a chance at an escalation path across each of the tiers with new rewards.

Furthermore, orbital skyhook conquest costs will be greatly reduced with the ability to capture existing skyhooks, making your road to conquest more streamlined.

These upgrades will bring greater flexibility and opportunity to nullsec, enabling alliances to invest in infrastructure that reflects their ambitions and adapt more rapidly to changing circumstances.

The result is a more dynamic, rewarding sovereignty system that offers corporations new ways to support their members, compete on equal footing, and build a lasting legacy.
But wait, there is MORE!
Legion will also bring sweeping balance changes to cruisers and capital ships, along with a range of quality-of-life updates. check out the EVE Legion keynote tomorrow to learn more.

Day 1 boasted a variety of fantastic presentations. Some of the highlights included EVE for everyone - a discussion on what inclusivity means, an opportunity to share personal stories, and a look at what initiatives are being taken in-game and within the community to make New Eden more welcoming for all pilots.

Player presentations included Weaponizing EVE for Good! by long-time EVE Streamer and EVE Partner Rahne, which showcased the power of the EVE community to rally together to make a positive impact in the world, from charity fundraisers to community-driven initiatives.

Focusing in on the new members of the EVE community, UNDOCK: EVE from a New Player Perspective by EVE Partner The Boojum explored why the experiences of rookie pilots are so very valuable. Sharing his insights as a new player, he shared his thoughts on what it’s like to enter a long-established MMORPG, along with salient advice on how rookies can successfully carve out their own adventures.
Drifter Summit YC127
Today’s Drifter Summit took a look back at the Drifters' influence on New Eden and the events that have transpired over the last several months. Convened at the behest of the Sisters of EVE, facilitated by the Arataka Research Consortium, and represented here by Uriel Anteovnuecci and DutchGunner, the summit featured players who’ve made significant contributions to their factions during the Race for the Hives, and who were specially invited to attend this RP-lite narrative event as delegates for their chosen faction.
Charity dinner at CCP HQ
Fanfest wouldn’t be complete without an inspiring opportunity to meet, greet, and eat with EVE developers and CCP’s CEO at the Gróska headquarters. Tonight’s dinner featured an evening of low-key networking with the CCP community and an exciting chance for players to engage with developers, ask questions, and exchange ideas. To top it off, proceeds from the dinner went to support Barnaspítali Hringsins, the Children’s Hospital of Iceland.
