Attention Operators!
[p]Field Reports are back! In this update, we’re highlighting what’s been recently added to EXFIL and giving you a glimpse of what’s on the horizon. From a brand-new map to dynamic spawn mechanics and fresh gear, there’s plenty to dig into. [/p]
🗺️ NEW MAP: STONE DRAGON
[p]
Now available,
Stone Dragon drops you into a harsh yet vibrant landscape of jagged rock formations, lush jungle undergrowth, winding paths, and punishing verticality. Set deep within a rocky valley, Stone Heart is built to reward smart positioning, coordinated movement, and close-quarters chaos.
Points of Interest
Mining HQ – A network of industrial buildings and heavy machinery nestled deep in the jungle. Expect prime opportunities for extraction ambushes and plenty of elevation play.

[/p][p]
Chasm Fortress – A military base at the base of a towering rock chasm. Overlooked by a railway bridge and flanked by a mining tunnel that cuts through the mountain - watch for ambushes from above and close-quarters combat below.

[/p][p]
Riverside Village – A rundown hillside village overlooking a massive scenic waterfall. Elevated terrain and shanty-style buildings offer concealment from potential ambushes along the treeline.
Mountain Ruins – Perched atop Stone Dragon's highest peak, these ancient ruins offer vertical firefights and trap-laden ambush opportunities.

Blood Mines – The heart of the abandoned excavation zone. Rusting machinery and crimson-tinted pools hide danger in every corner.

Whether you’re flanking on foot or dropping in from above, Stone Dragon is one of our most tactically diverse maps to date. [/p]
🚁 NEW RESPAWN SYSTEM: HELICOPTER INSERTIONS
[p]
![]()
Gone are the days of static spawn points-welcome to
helicopter-based respawns. This new system inserts players via AI-controlled choppers using
randomized flight paths and
dynamic drop zones.[/p][p]Each match now feels fresh and unpredictable, with pacing tuned for larger maps and more dynamic encounters.
Dev Tip: Keep your eyes peeled during descent-spotting other helicopters can give you an early clue where rival squads are landing.[/p][p]This system is designed to keep downtime to a minimum and ensure you stay in the fight alongside your squad. Here’s how it works:[/p]
- [p]Players can late join for a limited time after a match begins.[/p]
- [p]Reinforcement waves (based on server settings) allow groups to re-enter together and bolster their remaining squad.[/p]
- [p]Players will redeploy to their original insertion point, but we are also exploring the idea of dynamic redeployment points where players can insert at locations assigned by teammates.
[/p]
🔫 NEW WEAPON ADDITIONS: SMG ARSENAL
[p]Recently, three new weapons have joined the fight:[/p]
- [p]MPX – SMG built for precision and control, ideal for close-to-mid-range engagements with excellent handling.
[/p] - [p]MP7 – Compact SMG offering high fire rate and mobility, perfect for aggressive pushes and tight corners.
[/p] - [p]M27 Law – Rocket launcher designed for quick deployment and decisive takedowns of fortified positions. And remember-don’t waste your LAW rockets on helicopters… they’re not currently destructible (yet).
[/p]

Weapon Attachments
- [p]Suppressors – Gone are the days of DMR exclusivity: all weapons can now be silent and deadly. (With new audio! Suppressor sounds, along with several other gun sounds, have been overhauled for a more realistic and immersive audio experience.
[/p] - [p]Lasers – Available on every weapon platform. Just be careful not to give yourself away with that glowing beam in the dark…

🪓 Melee Weapons
[p]Melee weapons are officially coming to EXFIL- a highly requested feature from our players. Combat Knives will be the first to make their debut, giving operators a silent and deadly close-range option. Shortly after, we’ll be looking to add more non-traditional blunt instruments, such as trench shovels and other improvised tools, for when you need to get up close and personal.

[/p]
🎬 Animations
[p]
Our new animator, Jake, has been hard at work overhauling some of EXFIL’s jankier weapon and player animations, breathing new life into the game’s look and feel. From smoothing out reloads to refining movement, his work is already making a big difference.[/p][p]There’s still a lot on the to-do list- everything from helicopter animations to vaulting mechanics is in the pipeline. In the meantime, check out some of the recently added weapon check animations for LMG, pistol, and SMG-type weapons below. (GIFs courtesy of Jake’s Blender magic!)

[/p]
🗺️ Next Map
[p]
We know Stone Dragon has just rolled out, but the team is already deep into work on our next exciting EXFIL map. We don’t want to give too much away just yet, but here are a couple of screenshots to give you a taste of what’s to come. Like Stone Dragon, the new map will feature a jungle biome, but unlike Stone Dragon’s heavy emphasis on verticality, this one will be far flatter in design and focus heavily on building-to-building gunfights.[/p][p]Our work on Stone Dragon isn’t done either - we’ll continue to tweak the map based on player feedback and have already begun an optimization pass to make it play smoother than ever.
