A pirate’s not the same without a hat, and this time... it’s seasonal. Your pirate crew has been infected with the holiday spirit and is ready to spread some holiday cheer and mass destruction. Just in time for the holidays!

New Additions
  • SANTA HATS - Command your crew of swashbucklin', santa-hat sportin' pirates until Dec 26th.


Adjustments
  • Respawn time for Naval Mines shortened by 5 seconds.
  • Naval Mines now deal 25% more damage.
  • Added new sound effects for ramming, gold bar impacts and galleon cannon fire.


Bug Fixes
  • In-Game alert for corrupted save data now works without controllers connected.

Time to Set Sail Again



We proudly announce today that Phase 01 of our Furious Seas Early Access adventure is now complete.

It’s been a tremendous journey and a massive undertaking for our tiny team to make it to this point in just a little over a year. To everyone that joined us along the way – you’re our earliest adopters and this was only possible because of you. You’re the reason why Furious Seas is what it is today and why it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting and unique VR game experiences out there. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting us, for giving us that extra encouragement, for taking a chance to try out an unfinished game from an unknown indie studio, and for helping to guide our development path by sharing your thoughts with us. To our small, but growing community, give yourselves a huge, well-deserved round of applause.

Having completed Phase 01, Furious Seas now offers a very fun and satisfying VR experience that we are ready to share with a wider audience. With the help of our community, a solid core was built and the groundwork has been laid out for many more exciting updates to come.

If you haven’t sailed with us recently, now is the time to resume your high seas adventuring. We recommend giving Survival Mode a try for some very intense pirate ship combat.

Perhaps you’ve been sitting on the sidelines wondering if Furious Seas is worth your hard-earned dollars. We as gamers first and developers second, can proudly say to everyone that yes, it is definitely a fantastic experience worth trying out today. With our recent updates we've added a variety of new attacks to keep combat exciting and our in-game store/unlockable system offers much needed extended replay value.

It's Ramming Time

Ye didn't think we were done with just the Galleon Update this weekend did ye? Experience some of the MOST SATISFYING FUN in VR with our new ramming attack power-up. HAVE AT IT!

New Additions
  • RAMMING ATTACK - Sometimes cannons just aren't enough to get the job done. Throw caution to the wind and launch your ship in an all-out devastating attack against your unfortunate target. Available upon picking up the ram power-up, keep ringing your right bell to activate.
  • INTERACTIVE GOLD BARS - Due to popular demand would-be pirates in Furious Seas can now play with gold bars to their heart's content! Stack 'em, juggle 'em, throw 'em! Show us what you can do with our new gold bar physics.

Galleon has Arrived

Now announcing that the GALLEON HAS ARRIVED!

22 cannons of sheer destructive dominance await ye aboard a magnificent fortress of wood and steel. Put yer pirate hat on captain, yer new ship awaits!

New Additions
  • GALLEON - Strike fear in your opponents with the deadliest ship to sail the furious seas.
  • SHIP STORE - Put your hard-earned gold to good use. Purchase and unlock additional ships to use in Exploration Mode and Survival Mode.


Adjustments
  • Improved performance of water reflections.
  • Naval mine damage to AI ships increased by 30%.
  • Enemy spawn distance in Survival Mode raised by 15%.
  • Pickup spawn rate adjustments in Survival Mode: Naval Mines +10%, Treasure +%10, Double Shot -10%
  • Sail texture of naval mine pickup tweaked to improve visibility.


Bug Fixes
  • Fix for unresponsive signal bells when ringing left to right.
  • AI ships are now less likely to get stuck on other AI ships.
  • Fix for missing dialogue when treasure picked up in Campaign Mode.
  • Environment art fixes and improvements for rocks near the waterline.

Weapons Update



Arm the cannons!
We've added in more weapons and power-ups to give you new ways to sink your foes on the high-seas!

We've also improved the campaign mode! Adding in scoring, weapons and items to improve the campaigns challenge and depth.

Update Details
-NEW FEATURES-
  • NAVAL MINES - You can collect naval mines in all game modes, use them to set traps and bring your prey to a watery grave.
  • DOUBLE SHOT - Double up on your cannons to overwhelm your opponents (Survival Mode Only)
  • CAMPAIGN IMPROVEMENTS - High Score tracking, weapon and item pickups and additional dialogue!


Fixes
  • Pickups from defeated enemies now spawn faster
  • Fix for auto calibration issue for seated height mode
  • Fixed an issue where Captain Ruin's galleon could beach itself
  • Improved item collection feedback
  • Fix for a memory leak when respawning
  • Fix for results poster in survival mode being too bright
