Next Update Incoming!

Lawless Lands,

Hey everyone!

I wanted to stop by and say that the next HUGE update will be out by the end of the week. I'm doing some final touches and some bug testing to make sure everything runs smoothly, but this update is going to be THE LARGEST UPDATE TO LAWLESS LANDS YET!

Tons of new content including over 5 new side quests, expanded previous side quests, 2 new enemy factions, 9 new enemies and encounters, 1 new major settlement, many new exploration areas, reworked supply stash mechanics, the foraging system, 15 more soundtracks, and so much more!

Let me tell you a bit about my personal favorite new feature.

The Foraging System

The foraging system is one that I've been putting off because I personally don't like it in games, but now that I have it all working, I gotta say that it's pretty awesome and definitely expands the game. Basically, there are 10 herbs in the game that are used for alchemy. Until now, the only ways to get them were to find them randomly (and rarely) off of dead enemies and by buying them. Now, you'll be able to find them randomly across all outdoor maps, and even some caves and dungeons!

They are randomly spawned with a pretty neat little system that I designed that takes several different factors into account when spawning them. Of course, it wouldn't work without graphics for each plant, so I made those too. It is not a required feature, and if nothing else, it adds some more vegetation and scenery, but to those who like crafting, it will make life significantly easier and also give another form of value to each area based on what types of plants they spawn. They will always be completely randomized, so they will never be in the same place.

Like I said, there are 10 different plant herbs that you can find. They are broken down into which type of terrain they are located such as swamps and near water, forests and wilds, fields and plains, hills and mountains, and underground.

Each (exterior) area can be up to 3 different types of the above terrains.

I'm not going to give away what spawns where, so you'll have to figure that out for yourselves, but it'll be worth it!

I'm looking forward to hear what everyone thinks!
