Resident Evil 2's remake is happening and it's coming to PC

Resident Evil 2 is getting an HD remake, and it's coming out on January 25, 2019. Publisher Capcom confirms in a press release that it will be coming to PC. The news was announced at Sony's E3 2018 conference with two grisly new trailers, both of which you can watch for yourself below.
A Resident Evil 2 HD remaster and/or remake has been in the works off-and-on for a while now, having first been announced in August 2015 before going dark for a couple of years. But clearly Capcom has not been idle during all that time, having rebuilt the original game from scratch in the modern RE Engine. The famous over-the-shoulder camera perspective is confirmed to return.

The original Resident Evil 2 released in 1998 for the first PlayStation, and introduced such series favourites as rookie cop Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield. The setting is Raccoon City, whose citizens have, as you could probably guess, been turned into ravenous zombies by a disastrous plague. Leon and Claire must work together to survive and uncover the cause of the outbreak.
