Cuisine Royale Release: Path to Valhalla

Fighters! Today our brutal and mystical last-man-standing shooter is finally released, ending the beta stage! We’ve already told you about the new items arriving, the new version of the Normandy map, the arrival of tactical medicine and the new resurrection system coming with the release, but there’s more!

So, what else is there?
New Character

Right from the chilling shores of Scandinavia came Eric ‘Torden’ Thorsson, bringing the wrath of the Norse gods with him. 



In his youth, Eric was struck by a bolt of lightning, but survived, taking that as a sign from then onward. He received the ability to use ‘Thunderstrike’, allowing him to teleport-jump into the sky and crash down in a ‘stunning’ fashion, throwing around his opponents, breaking objects, and blowing cars away. While ascending through the lightning, he can move through any obstacle, and during his crashing descent, he can control the direction of movement and use a special vision, seeing opponents, weapons, and other important tactical objects clearly.

The thunderstrike ability will not only help Eric avoid getting to Valhalla too early, but it is also  a good tool to assist with the capture of strategic positions. 

Eric will be available in the game in his viking working outfit, his warrior outfit and his berserk outfit. 

Also, due to the season update, the Aztec shaman ‘Itz Ocelotl’ will become available to be unlocked by all players. Who will win in this clash of two different mythologies?
New Leaderboard and League System

Cuisine Royale is a competition game, and we want to make leaderboard statistics fairer and more interesting for players. 

It is important that once you get to the higher league, you don’t fall out of it before the end of the calculation and league change period (which currently happens once every two months). Be advised that these league seasons change will not be directly connected to any content update the game may receive.

All ratings will continue to be calculated using the Elo system — where changes to your rating depends on the difference with the rating of an enemy. For winrating system calculates your win rating againsе all players’ winratings: who died in the battle before you and those who still live. If you manage to out-survive those who have a higher rating than yours - you will receive more points. Those who are less experienced will bring you much fewer points, so the higher your rating, the more difficult it is to advance, and the faster it will deteriorate when you are killed early. Kill ratings are calculated the same way, but for each kill separately as a result of a duel. 

On briefing screen after the battle you can now see all that effected change in your rating.

For duo and squad modes, from now on, win ratings will be calculated based on whole teams surviving and being killed in the battle, and is based on the moment the last team member is killed. So, even if you die early in the battle, but your team goes on, you will receive a better win rating compared with the previous system.

Fire Arms

Finally, we want to answer a popular question: ‘Where can be find the new firearms in the game?’ Modern weaponry like the Steyer AUG A1, the M4A1 and the HK MP5N can now be looted from Tactical fridges (replacing the AKMs therein) or from Orbital drops. 

Orbital fridges will keep supplying players with the best weaponry. Apart from the above mentioned, these will also include well known grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and anti-tank rifles. We have excluded more ordinary weapons, like shotguns. 

At the same time, in regular loot, you will find new firearms such as the FN SCAR-L and HK UMP45, as well as the familiar AKM.
Full list of changes
  • Eric “Torden” Thorsson character has been added. 
  • The possibility to treat seriously wounded teammates has been added.
  • It is now possible to resurrect a dead teammate by using their hearts once per battle. 
  • Item “heart” has been added to the loot of a dead team member.
  • Firing sound has been reworked. Now it is easier to define distance to enemy using the sound of his shots.
  • The rating system has been changed. Win rate leagues have been added.
  • Players will be assigned to the leagues which are based on their win rates at the time of the update. The win rating of a player will be carried to the minimum value of his league rating and the rest of the values will be reset.
  • Previous rating tables will remain available for viewing, but will not be updated.
  • A winter version of the location “Normandy” is now available.
  • This display of footsteps and car traces in snow has been added.
  • Itz Ocelot is now available for everyone to be researched in the workshop. 
  • A new car has been added.
  • The amount of uber pans in battles has been reduced. 
  • On the default control settings for a PC, the button “X” is now responsible for a character’s ability and “Y” is responsible for indicating the location of an item for squadmates.
  • Hints on the loading screen before a battle have been added.
  • New loading screens have been added.
  • The briefing window after the battle now shows how and which kills affected the player’s rating.
Weaponry
  • New weapons
    • Assault rifles Steyer AUG A1, FN SCAR-L and M4A1.
    • Sub-machine guns HK UMP45, HK MP5N.
    • Shotgun Winchester Model 1912.
    • Smith Hammer and Warrior Hammer.
    • The list of items which can be found in the orbital fridge has been updated and now includes modern assault rifles, anti-tank rifles, grenade launchers, machine guns and the HK MP5N.
    • Tactical fridges now contain one of the following modern weapons: AUG A1,  M4A1, or HK MP5N. The AKM is now forms part of the regular loot on the map.
    • Colt Walker damage has been increased by 2.5 times.
    • The armour-piercing ability of the .45 APC bullet has been reduced.
Abilities and seals
  • New signs which quickly restore stamina have been added.
  • A sign that triggers a random ritual has been added.
  • New traps-mines against vehicles have been added.
  • New underpants and talismans showing the nearest cars have been added.
  • Special ability of Eric “Torden” Thorsson - “Thunderstrike” - has been added. It allows him to fly up and crash upon the ground, scattering players and obstacles, while also highlighting useful targets.
  • A bug where the winner of a battle received souls from the tombstone in the next battle has been fixed.

This release is already available to PC players. Players on PS4 and Xbox will get it next week!

Dear survival masters! We continue to reveal the new mechanics and content coming to our brutal shooter with the official release of Cuisine Royale: Path to Valhalla!

Those who like to fight in groups know how bad it feels to lose a mate in battle, especially if there is still a long way to fight before victory is achieved. This aspect is soon to change, allowing you ways to bring your squad-mates back into the action of the battlefield!

Firstly, in squad and duo modes, players can become ‘downed’ after taking enough damage. If a character loses all their health, they will fall on the ground and begin to bleed out. That player’s teammates will then have a short amount of time to practice some field medicine in order to stop the bleeding. If they manage to do so fast enough, the wounded character will survive, but if they linger, or the downed player receives additional damage, the character’s death will result. So, watch your teammates closely and be swift in administering first aid.

Also, be advised that only those players whose health is damaged to a degree which is not too far below the ‘zero’ mark will be downed. If a player receives a large amount of damage, they will be killed on sight. A revived character will have a very low amount of health after being revived - they’ll barely be able to stand - so, ensure they receive high-nutrition food fast.

Secondly, if your squad-mate proceeds to die, that is not completely the end! Approach their body and take their… heart. Yes, it’s a bit messy to cut the heart out from your friend’s fresh corpse, but at that point, it’s the only way to help.

Remember the mystic fires, which we’ve mentioned before, appearing on the Normandy and Mexico maps? Run there and throw your comrade’s heart into the flames to bring him back to the world of the living! You can only do this once for each deceased player, as his heart burns down in a fire, but it’s still a good way to raise your squad’s chances of victory.

Do not forget to bring spare guns and ammo - only the body and soul return from the dead, so everything else has to be collected from scratch.

Also, one should remember that ritual fires can soon become good ambush sites for those who like to hunt dirty. So, be careful while rushing, heart in hand, to resurrect your best friend...

Winter has come

Greetings, survivors!

We continue to reveal new content coming to Cuisine Royal with the upcoming official release of the game.



Winter has come to Normandy, and from now on, you will have to adapt your survival skills to make it through the snow. The once familiar landscape has changed, and it won’t be as easy to conceal yourself on the snowy surface.





Attentive players will soon notice strange looking campfires being set up throughout the battlefield. One might consider: ‘should I hurry to enjoy their warmth?’ Well, the answer to that question will soon be made clear, so stay tuned to the next news!

  • Icons of weapon types where added to weapons on the ground and in the inventory. Melee, Pistos, Rifle, Semi, Shotguns, SMG, MG, Launcher (bazookas). The only one is missing in the moment is Assault Rifle.

We continue to prepare for the next major update for Cuisine Royale. Before being able to enjoy new content we will release a patch containing a lot of bug fixes and improvements.
Shooting and weapon characteristic changes
  • The firing and aiming mechanics on the PC version of the Cuisine Royale has been improved. Now the sight will show more precisely where the bullet will fly to even in recoil or shifted because of character movement.
  • The reload speed of the Gewehr has been increased by 20%.
  • The Enfield now has 6 rounds in a single magazine.
  • The AKM has been rebalanced. Vertical recoil has been increased while horizontal recoil has been reduced.
Abilities and rituals
  • Catalyzed ritual of fast reload now requires 100 sinner’s souls instead of 150. 
  • Normal ritual of fast reload now requires 200 sinner’s souls instead of 300.
  • Smoke grenade trap now requires 30 sinner’s souls instead of 50.
  • While using special abilities, all characters except Ashley can now not use a jetpack. 
  • All characters except Ashley can not eat while using special abilities. Special abilities can also no longer be activated in water.
Graphic and interface
  • An animation when using mystical signs has been added. 
  • Visibility inside the dark zone has been improved.
  • A player can now see tracers from bullets fired by him. It will help in understanding ballistics for weapons better. Opponents will still be able to see only tracers from weapons that actually have it in Reality.
  • The status of a player that hasn’t left the previous battle yet will now be shown in squads. The team leader will be asked to wait for the missing squad member before entering a new battle.
  • Now you can mark vehicles for squad members.
  • The appearance of “contact shadows” far from the center of the map has been improved.
  • Blurring of the weapon parts that are out of focus during aiming has been improved.
  • The appearance of trees that are distant from the player has been improved.
  • Viewer (spectator) mode has been improved. Now the observer will see more information about the character: the amount of health and sinner's souls, equipment and other indicators. 
  • A hint regarding the possibility of enabling a unique ability has been added.
  • Highlighting of the lines in the options menu will now appear in the same way as they do in the control options.
  • A hint regarding the impossibility of putting a sign on an uneven surface has been added.
  • An animation when switching pages in the leaderboard in the interface has been added.
  • The total weight of the equipment carried will now be shown in the inventory. Weight affects the speed of the character!
  • A hint regarding the turning off of jetpacks has been added.
Sounds
  • More background sounds that are geo referenced have been added. Now the cuckoo will sing in the forest and the wind can be heard blowing across a field.
  • Sounds for hitting vehicles have been improved.
  • The Boombox sound will now spread taking obstacles into account more. For example it will be heard less behind a wall.
  • The volume of the online radio in the boombox has been reduced.
Other changes
  • Vehicle engines will now break when entering deep water.
  • Broken vehicle engine now creates smoke.
  • In normal movement, jetpack fuel will now not be wasted. The Jetpack can be activated by pressing twice or holding the jump button.
  • New daily tasks to catch enemies in various traps have been added.
  • The rules for rating calculation for duo and squad game modes have been changed. Now playing in duo/squad mode the rating of the place taken by the team will be taken into account and not the individual rating of each player.
  • Looting of perks is changed so that they rotate in the inventory, moving between slots. This should make looting perks more comfortable during the battle.
Bugs fixed 
  • Possibility of eating and beating with buttstock at the same time has been fixed.
  • The behavior of the character when contacting walls has been improved. Now there will be less sticking and jerking in the motion.
  • A situation where damage from melee weapons could be inflicted on an already defeated enemy if he was between you and the next enemy has been fixed.
  • A bug that caused global illumination being switched off after rebooting the GPU driver has been fixed.
  • A bug where the battle might unexpectedly end when the player that joined first is killed has been fixed.
  • A bug where it wasn’t possible to exit water has been fixed. Also the physics of the character’s behaviour in water has been improved.
  • A bug where the slider in the menu reacted to the mouse wheel has been fixed.
  • For the Mosin rifle, the overlapping of the rounds icon and the number of rounds has been fixed.
  • The disappearance of tracers from ammunition flying vertically upwards has been fixed.
  • A bug where the sound of the brown note remains in the game menu after exiting a battle has been fixed.
  • A bug where invites to the team (duo or squad) do not get to users that were offline at that time has been fixed.
  • The vertical angle of view of the player’s camera has been reduced so that the camera can not fall into the model of the character. 
  • The briefing at the beginning of the battle has been optimized for different screen resolutions.
  • Network traffic has been optimized.
  • Fixed incorrect hit registration for Annie while shooting in the bullet time mode at moving targets.

The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. Cuisine Royale is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.
