Cuisine Royale now with Global Illumination!

The release of the Cuisine Royale update “Weird West: Age of Nagual” will not only bring a new location to the game, but also new game mechanics and items. Today we will talk about one of those additions, a very visually-pleasing technical innovation that will make the game even more stunning.

At GDC, in March earlier this year, we showcased our scalable real-time global lighting solution for large scenes - Global Illumination, and now, we are pleased to announce that it will be implemented with the release of the aforementioned update.

Dynamic locations, with attention to detail, are among the hallmarks of Cuisine Royale and Enlisted. In our games, you can see and experience variations in seasonal and weather conditions and different times of a day, all on a single, larger-scale map, and combined with destructionable objects and a diverse landscape.

With Global Illumination, not only have we created realistic and natural lighting that allows for a greater sense of presence in the environment, but it is also able to adapt to accurately portray visuals according to the atmospheric circumstances, such as weather, time of day, etc, for both indoor and outdoor environments.

Furthermore, our solution is dynamic. If you destroy a large object, light will fill the space the object left in a more realistic way, and if you create an obstacle, it will accordingly generate reflections and indirect shadows to create a greater sense of realism and visual beauty.

We consider this solution to be unique in many ways, and we are glad that our games will receive an additional advantage as a result. While this feature will improve the visuals of our games, we have also worked towards ensuring that the introduction of Global Illumination won’t have a negative impact on game performance for different PC configurations and consoles. The switching on and off of this feature will be available, and optional, for the time being.

You can find the settings for Global Illumination in the Graphic Settings section after the release of the update “Weird West: Age of Nagual”.

We hope you enjoy the new look of Cuisine Royale!

Greed Games

Friends, we continue to introduce you to new features in the Cuisine Royale release version “Weird West: Age of Nagual”. In it, both in Mexico and Normandy you will be able to meet a new kind of bandit. The “one armed” types.

Slot machines

A new way to get useful items. But first you’ll need to find them scattered about the map and actually be able to use one, since your enemies are not going to wait by idly while you play.

Playing one armed bandits in the middle of the battlefield you can win regular or rare weapons, ammo, armour, food, modules and other loot. As long as you can afford to pull that handle. Or as long as you are not shot from behind. But hey, you have a chance to win even something like a Jetpack! Or hit the jackpot - and a pile of gold.

Although, sometimes luck can be tough and instead of a prize you might receive a pack of armed and ticking frag grenades...

Gold Coins

Required to play a game and pull the handle. You can not transfer unspent coins between battles, so no reason to save them! And if you kill someone who has already looted them - even better, feel free to grab your golden loot.

Masks

Can now give you a bonus to play slot machines or manage your gold. Equip one and get:
  • Jackpot increase of 30%, 60% or 100%;
  • Game cost decrease of 15%, 20% or 25%;
  • Sixth sense, a feeling of where the nearest slot machines are, helps you to find them within 50, 100 or 200 metre radius;
  • Sixth sense, a feeling of where the nearest gold coins are, helping you to find them within 10, 30 or 100 metre radius;
  • Ability to replace deadly grenades with the jackpot.

Also, the one armed bandits are a nice place to ambush other ludomaniacs. After all, not everyone will live to see their winnings. But we never told you that…

Hot fajitos a-la Mexican

Hi there! We continue to talk about the upcoming release of the Cuisine Royale.

The first noticeable innovation - from now on you will not only be fighting in breezy Normandy but also in the hot jungles and sands of Mexico.

The new location is four times bigger than the previous one and the significant altitude differences, both man-made and natural ones, will open a lot of new tactical possibilities.

In the new location you will see ancient Aztec pyramids, labyrinths of colourful marketplaces, cozy villages, luxurious villas, a grim nineteenth-century fort and trenches with bunkers.

In settlements, fight on the roofs of houses that create a maze like environment, or chase the enemy within intricate galleries of enclosed spaces.

Under these conditions, the jetpack will be able to assist in an attack on the enemy from the rear in an efficient way or just quickly escape from enemy fire. Thick shadows become a great place to ambush and destructible suspension bridges are a place for an unpleasant surprise for other players.

In general, we have prepared a hell of a lot of space for you to practice your personal survival tactics.

Good luck under the Mexican sun!
