Platform Builder Reverted to 10.4.4

Hey everyone,

I had to revert Platform Builder down one patch number from 10.4.5 to 10.4.4. The reason is that 10.4.5 was compiled with the latest version of Game Maker Studio, and I hadn't realized that the latest update changed how assets are stored in memory. This creates many fatal issues in 10.4.5, and I will need some time to update the code and re-stabilize Platform Builder.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Platform Builder's Category Switch

Hi everyone,

Platform Builder started as a simple "game-making game." But as I have continued to develop Platform Builder, so many new features have been added that it's starting to feel more like software. Users can now use a simple form of code (the command prompt), and those with the DLC can import their assets and export their games to .exe files.

Although the easy controls, colorful user interface, and casual nature of Platform Builder still have a "game" feel to it. That's not going away. However, Platform Builder's capabilities have, in my mind, pushed it to the level of software. Because of this, I contacted Steam and asked them to switch us over. They approved, and the changes are in effect immediately.

Ultimately my hope is that those who are looking to create their own 2D run-and-jump Platformer games will find Platform Builder and recognize its incredible potential!

Thank you to those who have suggested I make the switch. ːsteamthumbsupː

PB Pro Issues are being worked on...

Hello everyone,

It appears that the latest patch disabled Platform Builder Pro for many users. So I have reverted back to the previous version. If you want to keep working with the patch, then it will be available as a public beta. You can access this patch by going to your Steam library, right click on Platform Builder in the library, selecting "Properties," then "Betas," and choosing the public beta. That will install PB 10.4.1 for you.

Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully for everyone I can figure this out soon!
