The Help Page

Hello, and welcome! If you're experiencing technical difficulties getting into the game, then this is certainly far from the worst place to be. Down below there is a list of known issues we know some players experience, along with a solution for each one.

Just click on the "Show More" button below the issue you're experiencing and follow the steps that appear. All should be solved in no time.
Issue List

My controllers aren't being tracked in the game. / The game freezes after measuring.
Possible solution 1 (Works very well for Vive & Index users):
[expand]
Because of an input compatibility layer that's active by your OpenXR runtime (and possibly can not shut it off), we recommend you to install a toolkit which is called the "OpenXR ToolKit".

Here are the steps you need to follow to fix it:
  1. Download the OpenXR Toolkit here: https://github.com/mbucchia/OpenXR-Toolkit/releases/download/1.3.2/OpenXR-Toolkit-1.3.2.msi
  2. Follow the instructions here to install it: https://mbucchia.github.io/OpenXR-Toolkit/#installation

Possible solution 2:
[expand]
Both of these issues usually occur when your OpenXR Runtime has not been set up properly. You can fix both of these issues by following the steps listed below:

For players using an Oculus/Meta device:
  1. Open your Oculus client
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Go to "General"
  4. Press the "Set Oculus as active" button next to the "OpenXR Runtime" text
  5. Make sure that you ONLY have the Oculus client active. (So no SteamVR or another third party VR app)
  6. Play RUMBLE!

Players not using an Oculus/Meta device:
  1. Open your SteamVR client
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Go to "OpenXR"
  4. Press the "Set SteamVR as OpenXR Runtime" button.
  5. Play RUMBLE!

Players using a Valve Index device:
  1. Open your SteamVR client
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Go to "Video"
  4. Press the "Off" button next to the "Pause VR when headset is idle" text.
  5. Play RUMBLE!

Anti-Virus notice:
If following those steps did not solve the issue for you, it's possible your anti-virus software is actively blocking some of RUMBLE's functionalities as we have received several reports of this happening. If this is the case, there may be a pop-up notification on your computer monitor coming from your anti-virus software with which you should be able to solve the issue.
I have a disability that limits the degree to which I can rotate my hands.
[expand]
To make sure you can fully experience RUMBLE as a player with hand-rotation disabilities, we've created a Controller Rotation Offset feature in the game.
Whenever you want to set up a controller rotation offset, the thing you need to do is:

  1. Go to: C:/Users/%username%/AppData/LocalLow/Buckethead Entertainment/RUMBLE/[Oculus or Steam]/[Your User ID]/Config/Input.xml
  2. Open your Input.xml file with a text-editing program.
  3. Add the following text to the file before
    :

    0
    0
    0

    0
    0
    0
  4. Save the Input.xml
  5. Restart the game.

means the rotational offset in your left controller.
means the rotational offset in your right controller.
The
,
,
variables are standing for the axis your controller needs to be rotated with. (0 - 360 degrees)

At the moment this solution is quite a programmer-like solution, but we will come up with a more user-friendly solution in our next patch. For now, we think that it's more important to let players with that disability play the game.

If you need any clarifications, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll help you out wherever we can!

Patch 0.3.4 has been deployed.

Hello!

We're back at it again with another one of our small patches, y'all. You can read all about what we've done this time around in the patch notes down below.
Results of the Shiftstone Feedback Form
Last week we shared a Google Form with you wherein we asked questions about how you feel about Shiftstones. We've gotten just over 80 responses, which is fantastic, and we very much appreciate the fact that you took the time to give us your feedback.

Now the results are quite conclusive. On every question, the same 4 stones ranked as the least liked without fail. These stones are the Vigor Stone, the Surge Stone, the Adamant Stone, and the Stubborn Stone. You may notice that these stones are also the 4 stones that have passive effects that trigger automatically, rather than the other 4 that have active effects where you have to actively play around the Shiftstone.

We are already in the midst of reworking those 4 passive Shiftstones so that you can actively play with and/or around their effects. We won't change much about what they can do for you at their cores, AKA Vigor will still heal and Stubborn will still have knockback related effects, but how these benefits are reaped will be changed drastically. In the future we will completely avoid adding any Shiftstones that are purely passive in nature. Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope you look forward to seeing the upcoming changes to these stones!

That's all for today, folks, we hope this new patch improves your experience playing RUMBLE!

Version 0.3.3 of RUMBLE has been deployed + Shiftstone Feedback Form!

Hello RUMBLE fighters!

Today we have another game update for you, which brings several bug fixes, a performance boost, and improved networking stability! The change list is quite long for our standards, so please check out the patch notes at the bottom of this post if you're interested in the specifics of this update.
Shiftstone feedback Form
We would very much like to hear your opinions about the newest addition to the game, being Shiftstones. It's the first real change to gameplay we've made since launch, and we very much value your opinion on these kinds of changes.

So, we set up a Google Form that has a bunch of questions about Shiftstones as they are now, as well as what they could be in the future. If you're interested in helping us mold Shiftstones into the best version of the feature it can be, please fill out this Google Form: https://forms.gle/BooxhoHdgKuRh6rA7

We set it up so you don't need to sign in in any way, so it should be easily accessible. Thank you!

That's all we have for you today, we hope you enjoy the new update. A good chunk of the bugs and issues we became were aware of thanks to your continued use of our dedicated feedback platform, which we very much appreciate and hope you continue to do.

RUMBLE is on SALE
Attention all current and future RUMBLE fighters!
RUMBLE is available at a 25% discount from now until July 13th, when the Steam Summer Sale ends. This is the highest discount to date, so if you've been on the fence about becoming a RUMBLE fighter or know of a friend who has, now would be a great time to get the game.

For the existing players, a sale like this usually results in an influx of new players, so it will most likely be easier to find games in the coming weeks! That said I'm sure you remember the struggle of getting good, so be sure to show all these new faces the courtesy and respect you would have wanted when you first got into RUMBLE.

If you haven't played in a while, recently the game was updated to feature Shiftstones, which are gems that grant you special abilities you can use in combat. You can read all about them in this Steam announcement, or you could just hop right into the game and try them for yourself!

That's all we have for today, fight well, everyone!

(0.3.2) Fixes for fresh accounts & Steam authentication have been made

Hi everyone!

As some of you might have experienced, v0.3 has caused some issues which were game-breaking like not being able to perform moves with a fresh account and the Steam login.
So we worked as fast as we could on these issues and now have made a new version (v0.3.2) which contains new fixes, including the Steam & fresh accounts fix.

More things that have been fixed are the issues with the Guard and Adamant Stone which could recover you in a match when colliding with a slow-moving disc.

Our sincere apologies to the people who were unable to play RUMBLE in the meantime. We hope you'll now enjoy it as much as we do!
