October Development Update
Hello, deadsiders
Today we have some bad news and good news for you, so let’s dive right in. First lets rip off the bandaid - we have to move the release of Hoverboats to the end of November. A huge thank you goes to all of you who helped us with a closed testing of this feature. It helped us uncover a major performance issue, that made the boats unplayable with 40-50 live players on the server. The fix requires a significant amount of Unreal Engine’s net driver code to be rewritten, among other things, so we decided to postpone the launch for a month. Fixing stuff in the engine’s core is never easy and we hope for your patience and understanding.

And now for the good news - this fix will bring a significant server performance increase in high player count situations and we expect a lot less issues tied to this. This means less rubberbanding, re-syncs, players and AI movement jitter, etc. Our art team will put the added time to good use as well, adding more islands content in time for Hoverboats release. We will start posting previews of this new region next week so stay tuned!

Darkness descends on the peninsula and the creatures of the night have already invaded the world of Deadside. It's time to show the pumpkin heads whose turf it is.

At 02:00am PDT / 09:00am GMT on October 25, the Halloween-themed update 0.4.1 will be deployed on live servers.

⚠️During the update deployment, servers may be temporarily unavailable. The game client needs to be updated.

The event will last from October 25 until the next update. During this time, you will be able to find Halloween themed masks, helmets and weapons with unique skins. These items can only be obtained during the event, and will be kept in your inventory after the event.
