Last polish and patch of 2018!

Before closing the Alpha dev, we're launching one last patch this year including some polish, optimization and added details!

Alpha build 253 patch 02
21-11-2018

  • Fixed error when opening Settings tab in Editor when moving the cursor simultaniously
  • New music: updated Rooftop theme by Baby Duka
  • Adjusted volume on Rooftop theme by B. Magic
  • Implemented one atmospheric layer of audio depending on week day for the Editor; the audio while editing will change during the week
  • Added more detail to the jungle detail tile (flowers and leaves) to create more dynimacs with color
  • Changed splash screen to be less dark-toned and more about DASH World; also removed animated gifs which did not give the wanted effect. On the contrary it was slightly confusing
  • Updated Main Menu button sprites to be darker encreasing contrast and attention

Soon we will put up an article/post mortem of the open dev and all the goodies we've accomplished together :urbansocial:

WE WILL BE BACK AS SOON AS 2019 ARRIVES WARMING UP FOR THE EARLY ACCESS LAUNCH 1st QUARTER OF THE YEAR

The final build of 2018 is live
Let your Steam client update and press PLAY

Alpha build 253
2-11-2018

This is the final real update before 2019. Patches will be uploaded but no further implementations will happen for the rest of the year.

Changelog for build 253:

GAME:
- Introducing new Hero: **Max Leap** - one rabbit who never settled down
- Introducing new tileset: Rooftops with 2 new backgrounds and 2 new music themes (urban themes from the game Urban Pirate by Baby Duka and B. Magic)
- Setting a lock on the new introduced implementations to encourage more gameplay
- Made head-jumping more precise
- Took all Heroes' Speed stat 1 down in the Menu (not in the game). This is to give more space to faster heroes in the future
- Introducing new filter: Best Rating. Also moving the Alphabetical filter to the bottom placing the Best Rating levels in the top
- Made it so that every time you erase or place a tile the time file is erased. In order to avoid uploads of levels which can't be completed.
- Fixed a bug where you were unable to upload a level with a straight record (ie. 00:05.00)
- New default Worlds in the Play Menu (formerly known as the Run Menu)
- New Max Leap emojis on the Discord! (Join now for the best experience!)

DASH WORLD:

- New splash menu, bidding player welcome and showing featured news/content
- Introducing new Sharing option: Click the sharing logo next to the title of your World and receive a unique ID link. This link can be shared anywhere you like (the Discord, Twitch chat, Twitter etc).
If a player who is already logged into DASH World clicks the link, the World will be transferred to their unique DASH World account!

PR:
During the rest of November 2018 we will make a move once again to get people on board. During this period we will like to encourage you to make the ultimate Worlds and share them on the Discord. If you have made a cool World which is outstanding we will take and make it one of the default Worlds all players receive as they get the game in the future!

Thank you all alpha testers for being here and giving feedback. It has been a great piece of dev and the game has become far more than we could've imagined ourselves! THANK YOU and looking forward to 2019!

There will still be patches uploaded.

DASH ON!

New patch is up: Fixed resolution issues and Linux controller bugs (build 252 p. 02)

Build 252 patch 02 07-11-2018

Let the client update and press PLAY

This new build should fix

- the resoultion issues with the shader and Pause Menu. Surface should now strect according to window size

- the Linux-controller-crash-issue: The game should not crash when playing with controllers on Linux. The game might not read the proper input yet and it might display a wrong icon referring to the wrong type of gamepad but it should work all the way through!
