Companions are coming to Conqueror’s Blade!

Aiming to fill a gaping person-shaped hole in the Conqueror’s Blade experience, we’re very pleased to announce that as part of Season VII: Wolves of Ragnarok, Companions will soon be much-valued members of your warband!

Companions are a staple of many open-world games, giving solo players someone to talk to as they complete dull, meaningless tasks, and for everyone else a comedy character that runs in random directions while continually getting in the way. In Conqueror’s Blade, they’ll be a little more impactful and can be used to draw enemy fire. Be careful not to use them as human shields too often, however, or your new best friend might soon become your worst enemy!

The first companion character will be someone many are familiar with: Bob the Imperial. Stripped of his empire-associations, Bob was apprehended back in January and has been mulling over his life decisions in an Ostarian cell ever since. Preparing for his release into society, he appears eager to make amends for past transgressions by being a faithful friend to anyone and everyone.

To unlock Bob the Companion, you’ll first need to complete 12 team kills using siege equipment in matchmaking battles. Thereafter Bob will follow his friends around ceaselessly in towns and across the open world, offering epithets of wisdom and gently mocking players that fall in battle with such not-at-all-annoying lines as "it's just not your day, is it?"

Fully voiced in all supported languages, Bob the Companion will also offer his allies a 50% Evasion bonus in combat (excluding Territory Wars and Ranked Battles), as enemy units are drawn to attack him before engaging anyone else. With double the Health of his compatriots, Bob can also survive the most ferocious assault. If he does fall, he will get back up after 15 minutes and will only stop following anyone if he has a relapse (5% chance) and aims one of his arrows at them, killing them instantly.

With friends like Bob, who needs enemies?

15% boost to Glory until April 5

To celebrate the weekend, for every matchmaking battle you complete between now and 23:59 (server time) on April 5, you will be rewarded with 15% extra Glory to help improve your Season VII Nobility Ranking. Don’t forget you can also invest in a Battle Pass to maximise those rewards as you ascend to greatness!

Server downtime - April 1

Please be aware that from 8:00 CEST on April 1 (11:00 pm PDT 3/31), the Conqueror’s Blade servers will be inaccessible. The downtime is expected to last for 5 hours.

Patch Notes are currently only available in English. Other supported languages will follow soon. Meanwhile, stay tuned to our Discord channel in case of any immediate server updates.

Season VII: Ranked Battles

Ranked Battles are back for Season VII and will be accessible until June 13! Check out the updated Event Schedule to plan your ascent through the ranks!

Unlike regular matchmaking battles, from which you primarily earn Bronze and XP, ranked battles are all about creating a persistent record of where you sit alongside other heros. Your efforts will still reward you with experience and go towards fulfilling quest objectives (although you won’t receive any Bronze), but ranked matchmaking is primarily about establishing an evolving order of dominance.

It’s not just about bragging rights, of course. As well as ranks to ascend by earning points, there are weekly and season rewards to unlock - including a choice of units attires, so that your opponents will soon know who they are up against!

You can always check out your current rank by pressing J and selecting the Ranked Battle tab.

Check out the new Event Schedule

Thanks to your recent feedback, we have made a few changes to the Event Schedule. Starting April 1, there are morning slots for Deathmatches, with 5v5 matches slotted in for Mondays and an additional Deathmatch session to look forward to on weekends. Morning is also breaking across Free Battles and we’ve changed the maps around for both modes.

Moving forward, we hope to change the Deathmatch and Free Battle maps up a little more often, with plans to mix things up every month from now on.

The only other changes to report are that the Harbour City map is no longer part of Ranked Battles and that the Event Schedule itself has received a new look. You should go check it out!
