Ride Forth with New Cataphract Lancers Quests and a Bundle!

The Cataphract Lancers have been reworked to a new and improved form, and in celebration of their changes, you can complete limited-time quests with them for epic rewards until December 16!

The requirements for the Cataphract Lancers have dropped to 260 Leadership, so you can charge into battle with the armoured cavalry for a fraction of the cost.

Earn the following rewards for completing the quests:
 • 3-Day Cataphract Lancers Trial Card
 • 200 Honour
 • 30 Unit Medals
 • Player Title: "By Lance and Courage"

Check out their improvements below:

Rally To Me:
 • This skill doesn't share a cooldown with “Cavalry Charge”
 • Improved the skill's collision detection for obstacles
 • The unit's movement speed changes according to their distance to the hero
 • This skill now gains 1-second immunity to crowd-control effects

Long Charge:
 • This unit's charge (including the charge from Rally To Me) lasts longer and reaches further than those of other units. As they charge, their speed and damage will increase gradually
 • This passive skill now gains 1-second immunity to crowd-control effects

Shielded:
 • When charging (including the charge from Rally To Me), this unit raises their shields to protect itself from ranged attacks and reduce the damage they take

Veterancy Changes:
 • The veterancy node 'Charge', which unlocked the Rally To Me skill, has been removed and is now a starting skill for this unit
 • Added a new node: “Raid” increases the bonus effect of “Long Charge”
 • Adjusted their veterancy node positions so that each line's unique features are more distinct
Unbreakable Lance Bundle
CBL: Winter War: Challengers Spotlight

The play-in period has concluded, and the 16 teams competing for glory in CBL: Winter War 2021 have been decided. It’s time to meet your challengers for the title of Conqueror’s Blade Champions. Let’s find out just what they’re made of!
MEET THE TEAMS
Llamaland

Your reigning champions Llamaland are back for more! As the winners of CBL: Fall Fight 2021, Llamaland has a title to defend, and led by their captain MetheKhan, they just may seize first-place yet again. A word of warning—if you’re up against Llamaland, alpaca your bags for you.

MercaDon

This Spanish team is made up of Conqueror’s Blade veterans who have been playing since Season 1. They had this to say of their prospects in CBL: Winter War 2021: “We have enough individual quality and we know how our teammates play, that makes it easier when it comes to push or defend a point—the communication between us is good.”

SerfSlayer

Your fourth-place title holders from CBL: Fall Fight 2021 intend to climb even higher in the ranks this time around, saying of their aspirations; “talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships!” Just as there may be no Serfs in their Warband Builds, there’s no “I” in “team”!

Lawless

Lawless describe their team as “a community melting pot filled with members of many different walks of life” and can’t wait for their perserverance to shine through in the upcoming matches and “want to show everyone that we're constantly growing, adapting, and becoming the best House we can be.”

WinX Club

A simple yet poignant message from WinX Club about their ambitions for CBL: Winter War 2021: our goal is to be first”. Fair enough!

Eden

This squad made up of top 25 Ranked players has banded together to become a formidable force in this battle for dominance, and “know each other from fighting alongside and against each other!”. Know your enemy, am I right?

PARS

The HUN and GOKTURK Houses have put aside their differences to become reborn as PARS, one of the few Turkish teams competing in CBL: Winter War 2021. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, will the newly-formed PARS soar, or will they explode into nothing but feathers and a beak? Only time will tell.

SEFOS

Win or lose, SEFOS has already won the award for “most wholesome team bio”, saying of their goals in the tournament; “we are both good players and good friends with each other and after we met in this game we met in real-life. We are proud of our squad and friendship, it doesn't matter if we win or lose.” Aw.

Plebs

Your third-place team from CBL: Fall Fight 2021 isn’t giving up the title this time without a… fight. This troop of vets has one thing to say: “what will make our team great? Grapeshots.” Explosive!

TheTemplars

This Spanish squad includes members who have been playing since the launch of Conqueror’s Blade, and are hoping that “with the number of experienced players we have, we will fight for a big title, or at least put on a good show”. Here’s hoping!

Pond Guard

Missing out on the champion title to Llamaland in a thrilling final in CBL: Fall Fight, Pond Guard’s morale hasn’t weakened following their defeat, and they hope to perform the best they can “with individual skill and solid teamwork”.

Immortals

Young and old, beginner and veteran, everyone is welcome in Immortals (as long as you can handle banter). Planning to prove their immortality is not just their namesake, Immortals is bringing their “family of warriors” into the fray.

TheMinions

Diversity, teamwork, and patience is the name of TheMinions’ game—“end of story”. We wonder if they’ll play in yellow attire...

Jekkt Ultras

Hoping their strategy of investing “the most time in creativity to make a lasting impression” pays off, Jekkt Ultras is an EU1 team that aspires to “jekkt” their competition (whatever that means).

OMG! (ex kittens)

OMG! is on a mission to “collect the best players from Russia and Ukraine”, and dream of improving on their top eight finish from CBL: Fall Fight.

Runetastics

This German team’s main squad is made up of members of the RunenKrieger House, and they’re presumably expecting that the mystical power of runes will lead to victory.
HOW TO WATCH CBL: WINTER WAR 2021
Only one team can be the victor and claim exclusive prizes, as well as the opportunity to battle on a global scale against the winners of a Tournament hosted by Booming Tech in January (more details coming soon)!

Tune in to Conqueror’s Blade on Twitch for match coverage and commentary on the following dates:
 • December 6, 7, 8, 10: Round 1 (eight matches)
 • December 13-14: Round 2 (four matches)
 • December 15: Round 3 (two matches)
 • December 17: Round 4 (3rd Place Match + Finals)

Good luck to the competitors, and let the battles begin!

Conqueror’s Tales: Forging Weapons

The art of crafting weapons of war is an ancient one, and though the process may now be refined, there is still a mysticism attached to tools birthed from fire.

One of the earliest mentions of blacksmithing in mythology is Hephaestus, blacksmith to the Greek gods (and a god himself) who used the violent heat of a volcano to forge his fellow deities’ weapons. In the centuries following, mere mortals haven’t had to resort to using an unpredictable natural force to make their tools, instead relying on furnaces and blowtorches to reach the required high temperatures.

However, it isn’t always heat that is needed to make fearsome blades and axes. In the Bronze Age (3300 BC-1200 BC), blacksmiths would simply hammer the malleable material into shape for an extended period of time, then grind it for sharpening, in what is known as cold-working.

A great example of many smithing methods contributing to the creation of an overall weapon is the work of a present-day blacksmith named Alec Steele, who forged an incredible real-life version of a Khopesh Shortsword from Conqueror’s Blade.

Just as the Axe Raiders of Season IX: Tyranny modified their everyday workers’ tools into deadly weapons, history has examples of this too.

During medieval peasant uprisings such as the English Peasants' Revolt of 1381, farming tools were often hastily used as makeshift weapons when tailor-made tools were not at their disposal, and would range from woodcutting axes to harvesting scythes.

While these may not have been transformed entirely by a blacksmith, the likelihood is a peasant would have taken it down to the local journeyman for a quick sharpening before a conflict.

Visit your local blacksmith in Conqueror’s Blade for a weapons upgrade or check out the Weapon Skins in the Seasonal Store, and maybe you’ll walk away with a sword or spear worthy of Hephaestus himself!

Community Spotlight: Azureus

Azureus is the Senior Community Manager for Conqueror’s Blade, working closely with all your favourite Community Managers to give you the best experience possible.

We grabbed Azureus for a natter and discussed everything from private jokes to Super Mario Bros.

You’ve been with MY.GAMES for over a year now. Why did you want to get into Community Management?

I wanted to work in communications but I've always been shy, so communicating through my computer felt perfect for me. Ever since I was a teenager I've always enjoyed being an active member of gaming communities, so I wanted this to become my job.

What is it about the Conqueror’s Blade community that you admire the most?

Our community is passionate and always ready to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. I witnessed it especially during streams when I joined the team and knew very little about the game; the community helped me by sharing tips, and I really appreciated that. Kudos to our Twitch community!

Tell us about some of your favourite or funniest moments with the Conqueror’s Blade Community.
Our streams with the team have always been my favourite moments with the community; being able to interact with the players directly is really fun. I also love the private jokes we have there between the CMs and the community.

Let’s go back in time to the first game you ever played - what was it? How old were you?

I'm unsure, but I think the first game I ever touched was Super Mario Bros on my cousins' NES when I was five or six years old; that instantly became the main reason for me to visit them regularly (but don't tell them!). When I was younger (around four-five years old probably), I also spent many hours on my sisters' laps watching them playing games like Pitfall!, Lode Runner, DOOM, and more on our family computer.

Do you have any interesting or unusual hobbies outside of gaming?

My hobbies are various, and they come and go as I can get bored quite fast. For example, I started writing a fantasy novel a while back, and I pick it up from time to time just to find out that I don't like the style I had a few months back. I also do some drama club acting, but I can't drop this because my crew is counting on me!

Describe your ideal Conqueror’s Blade Unit if you could make one from scratch; what would they be called, what weapons would they wield, what would their traits be?

I'd like to see a Samurai Unit enter Conqueror's Blade with heavy armour like the Immortal Attire. They would be called "the Immortal Samurais" or "the Undying Samurais", something to make you think they are above death! Of course, they would wield fancy Nodachis (which is my favourite weapon). For their trait, I imagine a spectacular fall on the battlefield: "The Last Samurai: The fewer they are, the more damage each of them deals".

If you woke up tomorrow in the world of Conqueror’s Blade, what would you do first?

The first thing I'd probably do is try to get myself some good equipment because this is a world full of dangers! And as it's dangerous to go alone, I'd get myself a fine mount (a zebra if possible, but I wouldn't be too picky).

You can get in touch with Azureus via Discord and watch the whole team on the Conqueror’s Blade Twitch channel.
