Ahead of the release of Season V: Legacy of Fire on October 13, we are hosting a live preview event during which you can experience all that the next major update has to offer!

From 18:00 CEST (9am PST) on October 8, members of the Content Creator Program will be streaming their voyages to the new region of Anadolou and its capital Reginopolis. Join them for an advance, first-hand look at changes made to the Campaign, the revamped tutorial, and an early look at the dramatic new story that winds through a new set of Weekly Challenges. Of course, you’ll also be able to inspect new Battle Pass rewards and the hottest (literally) new and returning units as they set the battlefield alight!

To be part of the adventure, simply select your favourite Conqueror’s Blade host (listed below) and make sure you have a couple of free hours to join their channel on October 8, starting at 18:00 CEST.

Last month, we invited you to create lore for three new fiefs which will be introduced to Conqueror’s Blade in Season V: Legacy of Fire. We received some incredible entries, and after much deliberation, we’re ready to crown our three champions of the written word!

Marcerota: Lore written by TakeThePower – Sicania (EU2)

A town that has survived many disasters and sieges. It is the bastion of the west, it is the rock in the surf and it stands for the freedom of the people of Anadolou. The inhabitants of this city should not be underestimated, as their will is unbroken, their fighting spirit unchallenged and their thirst for blood and fire unquenched when the enemy is at their gates and threatens their existence. But this city is also known for its fertile fields and incomparable warriors. Whoever dares to attack this fortress has forfeited his life.

Scythios: Lore written by GrobiDrengazi – Asterion (NA)

“You may have heard wondrous songs sung of sparkling waters m’lord, and the terrible men who plunder upon its wakes. Here, the only tales told are warnings; for the sea is as treacherous as she is beautiful.” - A local Scythian

Scythios is no mere port. Generation after generation, one lesson has been passed down: The sea does not abide weakness. Its walls towering and solid, built to outlast the unceasing battering of the waves. Its people unyielding, for the sea does not share her bounty willingly. For centuries, conquerors and pillagers have broken against its impervious walls like so many waves of blood; for to try and overcome Scythios is to try and subdue the sea.
Jadoli: Lore written by ChairmanFox – Sicania (EU2)

Located at the heart of Empyros, Jadoli lives mainly from livestock farming. Its inhabitants have a simple and proud existence, among herds and military training. Education is mandatory, collective and organized by the authorities. It aims to train disciplined and efficient soldiers who only care about the kingdom's sake. Local rulers think it is a necessity, as a well-defended city needs to be guarded by a shield of men instead of a wall of bricks. Furthermore, because of the proximity of the aggressive Ungverija, each and every Jadolian knows deep down their contribution has to be exemplary.

As you earn Glory, the Battle Pass allows you to unlock additional rewards during the season. With each Nobility tier, you can unlock exclusive new hero and unit attires, banners, emotes and more!

You can also earn awesome Season V rewards without a Battle Pass, such as Rare Artillery Chests and Hero Tokens that can be exchanged for classic cosmetics and consumables in the Seasonal Store. However, only with a Battle Pass can you receive new rewards at every tier, all the way to 300!

When you reach Nobility Tier 101, you can start to amass Chalices as well as Hero Tokens. New to Season V, Chalices can be exchanged in the Seasonal Store for new versions of Hero Attire, Horse Attire, and weapon skins that haven’t been available since the end of Season I!



IMPORTANT:

• Hero Tokens and Chalices can only be exchanged in the Seasonal Store during the same season they are earned. After this, they become invalid.
• The Battle Pass only grants additional rewards for the duration of the season for which it was bought.

It’s easy to underestimate militia units for being under-equipped or poorly trained. The good thing about explosives, however, is they only have to be thrown in an enemy's general direction! 

With the high ground on their side, the Zykalian Militia can be a highly effective deterrent during siege battles. Their grenades might light them up as a target for enemy archers, but when stationed on the battlements, they're a great counter against sword units ascending the walls beneath them! 
 

Unlocking 

You will be able to command a Zykalian Militia unit temporarily after completing one series of Season V unit challenges. The unit will become permanently yours after finishing a second stage (along with any XP the unit may have earned along the way). Complete Stage 3 to receive a haul of Unit Medals, and Stage 4 to secure a Doctrine that increases the unit’s ammo reserves. 



 


Gameplay 

More so than other specialist ranged units, Zykalian Militia should never be deployed as a frontline force. Even Tenent Farmers would make short work of them. The best place for them is high upon a defensive wall, as their short throwing range makes it difficult to protect them in an open battle. They also have limited reserves of ammunition, so it's advisable to position them close to a resupply point. 


 

Progression 

Zykalian Militia have a maximum unit level of 16, with Veterancy Points investable across two branches. The top branch generally works to increase the effectiveness of the unit’s fire attack and reduce the cooldown timer, while the lower branch improves supply levels, movement, and range. The latter may be useful if you envisage deploying the unit in open battles more often than for siege engagements.
