Game Migrated to Another Steam Page News

Creator Spotlight: ShadeOnline

ShadeOnline has come a long way in a very short space of time, shown by the fact that he has - at time of writing - barely more a dozen videos to his name. What’s impressive, if you care to watch any of them, is that prior to his first for Conqueror’s Blade, he’d never felt compelled to make a video for any game before. “I started recording videos /because/ of Conqueror’s Blade” he says. “I uploaded the first tutorial on March 9, 2020 and my YouTube channel immediately started to grow.” The positive responses since that fateful day have kept him going through the increasingly tough weeks.

Active on the EU West 2 server, ShadeOnline was introduced to Conqueror’s Blade by his brother, DarkAvenger. Shade was hooked on the game immediately and had an instinctive grasp for how the game worked. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge with those in Vendetta, his first house, before striking out with friends and allies to forge a new path. As much as he enjoyed diplomacy and conquest, however, he found that keeping players focused was difficult, especially when it involved moving to new regions. So, he created his first video, in part to keep players informed and enthused. The more they might know about the game, he figured, the more they might want to keep playing. “Since then I haven’t stopped creating - whenever I have the time between family and work life!”
“I like the new Maul class for the brawling aspect and for clearing units, but my all-time favourite is the Glaive: It’s kind of fast, has nice CC and it just looks badass!”
Shade has since roped in his “non-gaming girlfriend” Sunny, who, as well as sharing voice-over duties, has seemingly been infusing videos with some not unwelcome moments of wackiness. As a double act, the pair are funny and endearing, which is unexpected for a type of gameplay video that is typically meandering and humourless.

It’s only when Shade feels he has the knowledge to share that the pair begins work on a new video, and he will only upload it when he is happy with it. As such, ShadeOnline is proud of all his videos so far, suggesting anyone interested in checking them out starts with the subject they are interested in. “If I had to pick a favourite” he adds, “I would say the “Best Units/Which to unlock. Unit Tree Breakdown” since it’s funny with the bloopers included from Sunny and myself.”

When he isn’t making videos, Shade can often be found in-game taking on sieges with his beloved Spear Sergeants at his side and with friends suggesting new ideas for the next tutorial. “I always like to teach people, hence the reason I started with a tutorial video” he smiles.” He aims to keep making them, but knows that he is still learning as he goes - not so much about the game, but about developing his craft as a content creator, an effort he shares with Hjulstad, of whom Shade is a massive fan: “Me and him go back to our  Vendetta days. If I remember correctly, I recruited him when he started playing…. but omg look at him now! He is now my number one go-to guy when I’m not 100% sure about something about the game.”

We’ll be shining a spotlight on Hjulstad soon, who shares a similarly healthy attitude to playing Conqueror’s Blade. “Have fun” offers ShadeOnline as a final thought. “Play this awesome game the way you like to! And don’t take Territory Wars or open-world pursuits personally!”

“A community of Knights United” he adds, “can make the world tremble!”

House Profile: Heretic (EUW1)

Heretic is a member of Friendly, the alliance that emerged victorious from Season II and is already working to do the same again. We caught up with its spokesperson before the new season kicked off.

How did you first find out about Conqueror’s Blade?

As with most of us in Heretic, from word of mouth. We talked about the game among friends and we were attracted to it because of its potential as a competitive PvP game.

Why did you decide to set up a house?

The origin of Heretic comes from the fact our old house, ODT, wasn't organized enough in terms or war management and we wanted to reach a higher level. When the ultimate aim of Season II was to take the Conqueror’s City shown up, we decided to go our own way. This lead us to conquer forts around the famous city - two of them, at least.

What do you think makes your house different?

We are serious in our aim to win the Conqueror’s City and just try to stay on top to remain an attractive choice for those who want to win the season.

What does the house hope to achieve - what will be its legacy in years to come?

Our alliance already won Season II. We just hope to successfully do it again in the new season, and those afterwards.

What’s your favourite class to play?

The answer depends on the Conqueror’s Blade patch. Classes that are the most well-suited to Territory War are a favourite to increase our chances to win. It’s the same for the majority of Heretic members.

What activities does the house regularly engage in and enjoy?

All of our time is devoted to training and working to stay on top in each season.

Who are your most trusted warlords and what roles do they command within the organization?

We can't name one without naming all of our confirmed members. We only retain players good enough to help secure the Conqueror’s City, which means all of our warlords are trusted once training is over.

If someone wanted to join your house or establish a pact, what should they do?

They can contact us via Discord

Are there other houses that you admire?

For us, all houses who step into the Borderlands deserve our respect. Others who stay in starter regions after the Borderlands open present little interest for us.

Conversely, are there any houses that you'd consider mortal enemies?

We don't have any specific enemies: Even if we fight every house that challenges us, it helps us to train and be prepared for the season.

Many thanks to the members of Heretic for answering our questions. If you know of a house that is deserving of similar recognition that we should profile in the future article, please make your nomination via our Discord channel.

Creator Spotlight: DaddyDeath369

If you’re not a regular viewer to DaddyDeath369’s Twitch channel, you may have inadvertently appeared in one of his events, which in the past have drawn hundreds of players (and bemused onlookers) to congregate and do battle at the heart of some of Conqueror’s Blade’s most iconic settlements. These duelling tournaments are the epitome of organised chaos, where players might appear as a rabble spoiling for a fight, but are actually being carefully orchestrated behind the scenes to ensure proceedings are fast and fair.

Duelling tournaments have been a mainstay of DaddyDeath’s output for almost as long as he’s been streaming Conqueror’s Blade, an effort which started a little over a year ago (when he was simply known as Death3691) and when the dad jokes weren’t quite as prevalent (or as well practised): “I found out about Conqueror's Blade when I was searching for a new free game to play” he says, “and being able to charge in smashing everything is what’s kept me going.” He then decided to join the Content Creator Program to give players a voice and show off his martial prowess, most recently in the guise of a Maul: “I can run in like a maniac, bashing everything out of the way. And I can yell ‘stop, hammer time!’.”

DaddyDeath typifies his streams as “a lot of chaos and destruction” with a few terrible jokes and odd discussions on the side. It was one of those early exchanges that lead to him hosting his first duelling tournament, a format which many others have copied since with varying degrees of success. “Everyone told me it was impossible and a horrible idea” he recalls, which was the only impetus needed to see if it could work. Numerous events and hundreds of duels later, it’s no surprise to learn that DaddyDeath’s tournament streams are among his proudest moments.

Away from duelling, DaddyDeath is happy to continue doing what he does best; charging recklessly into battle while hopefully raising a few smiles from among his online audience. “My goal will always be to try and make one person in every stream laugh or shake their head saying ‘What's wrong with this guy?’” Clearly being an example of what not to do is a winning formula.
“The most rewarding aspect of being a content creator is being able to introduce new players to the game and help them learn.”
When not live himself, DaddyDeath says he hangs out in as many streams as he can, and sees efforts to entertain players equal to that of making the game itself: “Anyone can make a difference; whether it is stepping up to hold server-wide events or just by helping a new player learn. The future of the game is in the hands of the community as much as the creators, so kick back relax and have some fun.”

$1000 to be won in NA-server Duelling Tournament!

Due to start at 6pm PDT (03:00 CEST) on May 27th is one of the most ambitious duelling events yet to be organised by the player community. Organised and hosted by NA streamer Cobra Commander, the Duel Tournament will be the first player-run event to be set against the backdrop of the Conqueror’s City, with an impressive $1000 prize pool to help focus the minds of the competitors.

What’s unique about the tournament - aside from the unprecedented interest from in-game sponsors - is that combatants will be representing houses as well as themselves, which should lend the event a considerable level of support from all corners of the NA server and beyond. Some houses have been hosting their own tournaments to decide who will be representing them, making Cobra Commander’s Duelling Tournament a grand final, of sorts.

So far represented are Blackshirts, HighTower, LatinWarriors, Goryo, NoctemInvicta, Aegir's Tide, Heretics, Frontier, TheForsakenFew, InfamousMisfits and PastryEmpires. Those interested in representing others can sign up via this page, while those only looking to spectate on the action will be able to via Cobra Commander’s twitch channel. You can also keep up with results when thing kick-off next week.

Good luck to the organisers, the sponsors and all those about to do battle - we salute you all!

Be aware that the Duelling Tournament is not being organised or administered by MY.GAMES. Any queries or concerns in relation to participation and adjudication should be directed at the organisers, who have kindly offered their time to ensure a fun and fair time for all.
